차량인터넷에서 지능형 서비스 제공을 위한 지식베이스 설계 및 구축 (Design and Implementation of a Knowledge Base for Intelligence Service in IoV)

  • Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a subset of Internet of Things (IoT) and it is an infrastructure for vehicles. Therefore, IoV consists of three main network including inter-vehicle network, intra-vehicle network, and vehicular mobile internet. IoV mainly used in urban traffic environment to provide network access for drivers, passengers and traffic management. Accordingly, many research works have focused on network technology. But, recent concerted efforts in academia and industry point to paradigm shift in IoV system. In this paper, we proposed a knowledge base for intelligence service in IoV. A detailed design and implementation of the proposed knowledged base is illustrated. We hope this work will show power of IoV as a disruptive technology.

Synergy: An Overlay Internetworking Architecture and Implementation

  • A multitude of overlay network designs for resilient routing, multicasting, quality of service, content distribution, storage, and object location have been proposed. Overlay networks offer several attractive features, including ease of deployment, flexibility, adaptivity, and an infrastructure for collaboration among hosts. In this paper, we explore cooperation among co-existing, possibly heterogeneous, overlay networks. We discuss a spectrum of cooperative forwarding and information sharing services, and investigate the associated scalability, heterogeneity, and security problems. Motivated by these services, we design Synergy, a utility-based overlay internetworking architecture that fosters overlay cooperation. Our architecture promotes fair peering relationships to achieve synergism. Results from Internet experiments with cooperative forwarding overlays indicate that our Synergy prototype improves delay, throughput, and loss performance, while maintaining the autonomy and heterogeneity of individual overlay networks.

  • The design concepts using vibration reduction techniques, or structural control, have been proposed recently to protect infrastructure against earthquakes. The magnetorheological(MR) fluid damper is one of the most promising new devices for structural vibration reduction because of its mechanical simplicity, high dynamic range, low power requirement, large force capacity and robustness. In this study, the seismic performance of MR devices are compared with that of NZ systems as an attempt to provide some data for improving seismic design techniques applied to structures. For nonlinear time domain analysis of a base isolation system, a six-story building model is considered as a numerical example. The ground acceleration data of El Centre 1940, Mexico City 1985 and Kobe 1995 earthquakes are used as seismic excitations. The results show that MR damper systems for outperform NZ systems in wide-ranging seismic excitations with respect to intensity and period characteristics.

  • On December 2001, Yongin Light Rapid Transit was started with the Notification of Basic Plan for Private Infrastructure Investment Project and promoted as BTO configuration to effectually cope with the rapid increase of traffic demand in Yongin City and establish pleasant and green urban traffic system to connect with New Boondang Line to diversity traffic demand around roads. On May 27th, 2005, it was applied authorization of detailed plan and the .First Light Rapid Transit in Korea shall be started construction on Nov, 2005, and completion on May. 2009. This Thesis will introduce the Detailed Design for Yongin Light Rapid Transit.

  • 본 논문에서는 분산 멀티미디어 응용을 위한 객체 지향형 프레임워크 방식으로 설계된 네트워크 멀티미디어 관리 시스템 개발에 관한 설계 이슈 및 프로토타입 개발 경험을 기술하고, 특히 멀티미디어 관리 시스템의 일부로서 개발한 비디오 서버 상에 적용 가능한 통합형 QoS-자원 협상 프로토콜의 주요 특징에 관하여 설명한다. 구현된 멀티미디어 프레임 워크 상에서 효율적인 멀티미디어 스트리밍을 지원하기 위하여 새로 제안된 QoS 협상 정책을 실제 서버에 적용하는데 있어서 고려해야 할 중요 이슈에 대해서도 분석하였다.

The Design of Integrated Flying Vehicle Model for Engagement Analyses of Missiles

  • High-Level Architecture(HLA)/Run-Time Infrastructure(RTI) are standards for distributed simulation systems and offer a technology to interconnect them and form one single simulation system. In defense domain, M&S is the only way to prove effectiveness of weapon systems except for Live Fire Testing (LFT). This paper focuses on guided missile simulations in weapon systems for engagement analyses and proposes the integrated flying vehicle model that is based on HLA/RTI. There are a lot of missiles in real world; therefore, we should develop each missile models in M&S in order to apply battlefield scenarios. To deal with the difficulties, in this paper, firstly, I classify these missiles into three models: ballastic, cruise, and surface-to-air missile models, and then I design each missile model and integrates them into a single model. This paper also offers a case study with my integrated flying vehicle model. At the conclusion, this paper presents contributions of this paper.

  • 현재 기업의 정보공유환경은 문서관리 시스템을 도입하여 사용하는 수준이며, 기업간의 정보공유 환경은 열악한 수준으로 전자우편을 통하여 서로 정보를 주고받는 정도이다. CALS 는 기업의 정보화를 통하여 기업간의 신속한 정보교류를 이룩함으로써 생산성 향상을 목표로 한다. CITIS는 CALS구현을 위한 소프트웨어적인 기반구조로 CALS에서 정보를 공유/교환하기 위한 서비스의 표준으로 다수의 기업간에 인터넷/인트라넷을 이용한 가상기업을 형성하여 정보를 공유하고자 할 때 활용될 수 있는 소프트웨어적인 기반 구조이다. 본 연구에서는 인터넷/인트라넷을 기반으로 CITIS 프로토타입 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현언어로는 웹과 이기종 시스템에서 쉽게 사용될 수 있는 Java를 이용하였고, 분산환경 하에서의 통신 미들웨어로 객체지향 브로커 구조인 CORBA를 이용하였다.

Structural health monitoring through meta-heuristics - comparative performance study

  • Damage detection and localisation in structures is essential since it can be a means for preventive maintenance of those structures under service conditions. The use of structural modal data for detecting the damage is one of the most efficient methods. This paper presents comparative performance of various state-of-the-art meta-heuristics for use in structural damage detection based on changes in modal data. The metaheuristics include differential evolution (DE), artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC), real-code ant colony optimisation (ACOR), charged system search (ChSS), league championship algorithm (LCA), simulated annealing (SA), particle swarm optimisation (PSO), evolution strategies (ES), teaching-learning-based optimisation (TLBO), adaptive differential evolution (JADE), evolution strategy with covariance matrix adaptation (CMAES), success-history based adaptive differential evolution (SHADE) and SHADE with linear population size reduction (L-SHADE). Three truss structures are used to pose several test problems for structural damage detection. The meta-heuristics are then used to solve the test problems treated as optimisation problems. Comparative performance is carried out where the statistically best algorithms are identified.

The Aging Society from the Perspective of Urban Infrastructure and Community Environment: Searching for Policy and Technological Innovation

  • This study reviews how an aging society can be connected to the urban-built environment, transportation system, infrastructure, and climate change topics from the perspective of policy and innovation in science and technology. Each topic was described with the aging society that we will encounter in the near future. Based on the expected discussions, we suggested how policy and technological innovations may interact with the new emerging society. Especially, digital transformation is expected to hyper-connect the aging society beyond physical barriers where numerous policies and innovations in science and technology shed light on the elderly population. We observe, however, that this cannot be achieved only by the government sector; rather, municipal governments and local communities, as well as private sectors, all together need to prepare for the new society of the aging population. Furthermore, an ideal approach is to accommodate multidisciplinary studies that can address the policy and technological innovations simultaneously and collectively. By doing so, we can minimize the negative impacts when an aging society approaches.

아파트에서의 전기자동차 충전인프라 설계를 위한 요소 고찰 (Review of Design Components of Recharging Infrastructure for Electrical Vehicles in Apartments)

  • Electric vehicles (EVs) are the most promising alternative substitute to a significant amount of gasoline vehicles for climate friendly transportation. This paper conducted an EV consumer survey through the telephone for 200 residents living in apartments to predict the EV penetration level in the year 2020. The results of EV consumer survey revealed that EV will be penetrated to 10% of the total vehicles in rental apartments and to 23.6% of the total vehicles in apartments for sale(condominium) until 2020. High EV penetration level, however, will lead to an increase of power consumption and over loading of electrical installations. Integrating more electric vehicles, the capacity of transformer related in apartments should be checked to prevent the over loading of the transformer. This paper checked the possibility of over loading at transformer and suggested the load control system as one of the solutions to reduce the over loading of transformers in apartments. Also this paper reviewed other components that should be checked in the designing of EV recharging infrastructure in apartments.
