장독립-장의존 인지양식이 대학생의 정보탐색행위에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effect of the Cognitive Style of Field Dependence/Independence to the Information-Seeking Behavior of Undergraduate Students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생 250명을 대상으로 장독립-장의존 인지양식이 정보탐색행위에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 장독립-장의존 인지양식은 집단잠입도형검사(GEFT: Group Embedded Figure Test)로 검사하였으며, 정보탐색행위는 정보탐색 수행평가와 설문조사의 방법으로 조사하였다. 분석 결과, 장독립-장의존 인지양식은 본 연구에서 설정한 항목들 중에서 한 개의 항목을 제외하고는 전부 정보탐색 수행평가의 항목에 영향을 미친 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 인지과정 도중에 작용하는 인지적 특성인 인지양식은 정보를 탐색하는 실제적인 행위에 영향을 미쳤다고 할 수 있다. 그리고 장독립-장의존 인지양식은 정보탐색행위의 영역적인 면에서는 탐색결과와 일반적인 정보탐색행위를 제외하고, 탐색과정에만 영향을 미쳤다. 그러므로 정보탐색행위의 탐색 과정적 영역에서는 인지양식의 연구가 효율적이라고 할 수 있다.

개인의 성별, 정보추구성향 및 불건강 행위 간 관계 연구 (The Relationships among Gender, Information Seeking Style and High Risk Behavior in Korean Adults)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships among gender, information-seeking styles, and high risk behavior in Korean adults. Methods: A survey utilizing a structured questionnaire was used to examine the relationships of the study variables. Eight hundred fifty six adults were recruited and this group consisted of 403 females and 453 males. Information seeking style and high risk behavior were measured by Miller Behavioral Style Scale revised by Zurren and Wolfs, and High Risk Behaviors checklist developed by Lee, respectively. Results: Differences between gender were significant in information-seeking styles and high risk behavior. Monitoring and blunting scores were both higher in female than male, and high risk behavior was higher in males than females. The blunting style was positively related to high-risk behavior and the monitoring style was negatively related to high risk behavior. Conclusion: To intervene with high risk behavior effectively, individual differences such as gender and information seeking style should be considered. In addition, the research about well-designed health information support is needed in the future.

Collaborative Information Seeking in Digital Libraries, Learning Styles, Users' Experience, and Task Complexity

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between collaborative information seeking and users' learning style preferences and their experience of information systems. The study investigates the role of four different factors including learning style, task complexity, and user experience in collaborative information seeking in digital environments. Sixty participants (30 pairs) were randomly chosen from volunteer graduate students of Kharazmi University (Iran). Participants completed Kolb's learning style questionnaire and a user experience questionnaire and then performed two information seeking tasks (one simple and one difficult) in a lab setting. They could exchange information with their partners or a librarian using Skype. The sessions were recorded using Camtasia. The results showed that with an increase in task difficulty, collaborative information seeking activities increased and more interactions with partners and the librarian occurred. The number of executive help-seeking requests was higher than the number of instrumental help-seeking requests. This research confirms that learning style is related to the way users interact with the digital library and help seeking. The research showed that in difficult tasks, the differences among users with different learning styles become more evident, and that generally interactions increase in more difficult tasks. Among the learning styles, the accommodating style had the highest number of relationships with collaborative information seeking variables. Most of the statistically significant relationships between users' prior computer experience and collaborative information seeking variables were related to the time variable.

여대생들의 의류구매 의사결정 스타일 특성에 관한 연구 (Profiling Female College Students' Apparel Buying Decision-Making Styles)

  • The purposes of this study were (1) to segment female college students' apparel shoppers into unique apparel buying decision-making style groups; and (2) to profile for each segment in terms of personal characteristics (material values, change seeking tendency and prestige sensitivity) and fashion information sources. Data were collected through questionnaires from convenient sample of 290 female college students. As a result of cluster analysis and univariate analysis of variance, distinctive consumer decision-making style groups of consumers were identified; Value-maximizing Recreational Shoppers, Brand-Maximizing Emotional Shoppers, and Apathetic Shoppers. These three groups were compared as to the effect of personal characteristics variables and fashion information sources through univariate analysis of variance and chi-square statistics. The result showed that personal characteristics (material values, change seeking tendency and prestige sensitivity) and fashion-information sources do influence the consumer decision-making styles and that these three groups were unique in their decision-making characteristics showing that consumer decision-making styles can be a good segmentation base for apparel market.

  • 이 연구에서는 기술수용모델(Technology Acceptance Model: TAM)을 적용하여 카드뉴스 이용자의 정보추구성향과 뉴스 리터러시가 지각된 용이성과 지각된 유용성에 미치는 영향, 지각된 용이성과 지각된 유용성이 추천의도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 카드 뉴스 이용 경험이 있는 대학생 400명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며, 통계분석은 구조방정식모델(SEM)을 이용하였다. 분석 결과, 정보추구성향은 지각된 용이성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 뉴스 리터러시는 지각된 용이성과 지각된 유용성 모두에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 지각된 용이성은 지각된 유용성에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 지각된 용이성과 지각된 유용성 모두는 추천의도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Patients with Cancer and their Relatives Beliefs, Information Needs and Information-Seeking Behavior about Cancer and Treatment

  • Purpose: To identify cancer patient and relatives beliefs, information needs, information-seeking behavior and information sources about cancer and treatment. Methods: This research was conducted at two hospitals of a university. Data was collected via questionnaires and the Turkish version of the Miller Behavioral Style Scale (MBSS) to assess information-seeking behavior. The sample included 82 patients and 54 relatives. Results: Patients were receiving treatment mostly for breast, gynecologic, lung cancer and leukemia/ lymphoma. All of them indicated that they want to be informed by a doctor about their diagnosis and treatment first. Other information sources were internet, media and nurses. The majority of the patients and half of their relatives agreed that "cancer is curable and preventable disease". Only 2.5% of patients agreed with the statement "I don't want to get information about disease which disturbs me". According the data obtained from MBSS; the mean patients MBSS score ($6.41{\pm}3.2$) was higher than their relatives ($5.46{\pm}3.1$). Respondents with higher education and younger age indicated more information-seeking behavior. Conclusions: Patients and their relatives differ in some of their information-seeking behavior. Patients beliefs and their strategies for coping with their illness can constrain their wish for information and their efforts to obtain it. Healthcare professionals need to assess and be sensitive to the information-seeking behavior of cancer patients and their relatives.

나르시시즘 성향, 패션소셜미디어 이용동기, 정보확산 행동 간 관계 연구 (The Relationship among Narcissism, Usage Motives, and Information Diffusion of Social Media)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among narcissism, usage motives, usage behaviors, satisfaction with and continuance intention to use fashion social media. Research design, data, methodology - A questionnaire survey was used to collect data after conducting a pilot test. Based on the reliability test of the preliminary questionnaire used for the pilot test, the questionnaire was revised. The final questionnaires were administered to 238 fashion social media users and 216 were used for the data analysis. To assess the validity of these measures, exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis were performed. Structural equation modeling analysis were employed for data analysis. Results - Five factors of the usage motivation of fashion social media were extracted: information-seeking, relationship-seeking, practicality-seeking, enjoyment-seeking and self-expression motives. The statistical analysis confirmed the influence of the narcissism tendency on all of the usage motives of fashion social media, three of the fashion social media usage motives influencing information diffusion behavior, and the influence of the information diffusion behavior on users' satisfaction and continuance intention to use fashion social media. Narcissism exerted the highest influences on self-expression motive followed by information-seeking, enjoyment-seeking, relationship-seeking and practicality-seeking motives in order. Factors affecting fashion information diffusion behaviors are practicality-seeking motive, self-expression motive, and relationship-seeking motive. The greater the diffusion of information, the higher the satisfaction with using fashion social media. The consumers with higher satisfaction intended to use fashion social media and share information more frequently. Conclusions - The results indicate that narcissism is an important factor in fashion social media usage motivation. The main motives for narcissistic people to spread information is for the practical purpose at the most, and then to express their personality and style, and to build relationship with others. The satisfaction through active information sharing behaviors seems to play a key role to lead high continuance intention of fashion social media. These implies that marketing strategies to satisfy consumers' narcissism and motives to use social media, and to stimulate the information diffusion behaviors can be used to meet their needs for higher satisfaction with fashion social media.

잡노마드(Job Nomad)의 문화와 패션스타일에 관한 연구 (A Study on Sob Nomad's Culture and Fashion Style)

  • Much has been said in the 21st century about advanced information society following industrial society, so information appeared obviously. Based on the development of digital network due to such highly developed information, foresee a new phenomenon in anthropology. The new phenomenon is urban nomad such jobnomad who may change the culture of settlement with a long history into the culture of nomad. This study was to analyze the culture and fashion style of job nomad who may be a trend of fashion in the future. The results of this study are as follows Firstly, the features of job nomad are new communication technology and information technology called new media. And key words for job nomad are non-possession and professionalism and their feature in labor is one(1) person project. Secondly, job nomad to be a trend of future fashion is seeking wearable electric machine - wearable computer fashion. Thirdly, Zen style fashion reflecting Zen idea has such features as naturalism. indeterminism, equalitarianism, and moderation. Those features coincide with the tendency of job nomad who may lead the culture of fashion in the 21st century and do with human being's life style in the 21st century. Expect that job nomad appears newly in social and cultural phenomenon through this study can be developed toward a new and sensible fashion.

연령대별 유방암 위험지각과 이에 영향을 미치는 요인 비교 (A Study on Age-related Difference in Risk Perception of Breast Cancer and Influencing Predictors)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the age-related differences in risk perception of breast cancer and the age-related differences in predictors of risk perception. Method: The subjects were 553 women aged from 15 to 64 who lived in Seoul, Kwang-Ju, Jeon-nam province. Data was collected by self-reported questionnaire surveys using convenience sampling. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, F-test with Scheffe test, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS-Win 10.0 version. Result: Risk perception of breast cancer was different by age group. Especially, risk perception in teenagers and the 50~64 years group was lower than the other groups. Additionally, general fear of breast cancer, information seeking style, experience, and knowledge were different between the age groups. The results of multiple regression analyses predicting risk perception indicated the following significant predictors: general fear and knowledge in all the subjects, general fear and experience in the 20~29 years group, and general fear in the other age groups. Conclusion: These results suggested that the construction of educational messages for breast cancer prevention and early detection should be designed differently for each age group.

의사결정자의 성격유형과 위험성향 (Decision Maker's Personality Type and Risk Attitude)

  • The personality types developed by Gustav Jung are frequently used to identify peopl's decision-making style, especially to determine which functions are dominant ones in the perception and the processing of information. In this paper, the Jungian typology is utilized to investigate if there are any systematic relations between an individual's personality type and her/his attitude toward risk. For this purpose, an experiment was conducted where 99 subjects, mostly students, participated in a computer-simulated horse racing game. Each subject's risk-seeking propensity was measured by the winning chance of the selected horse and the amount of stakes. The results of the experiment show that a decision-maker who is extrovert (E) is attitude and intutive(N) in perception of information is more likely to be risk prone than the introvert(I) and sensing(S) type. Feeling(F) function in information processing seems to induce more risk seeking attitude than thinking (T) function, but the statistical significance could not be found from the data, for this statement.
