A Study on Fracture Parameters for PVC/MBS Composites under Low Velocity Impact (저속 충격시 PVC/MBS재료의 파괴특성에 관한 연구)

  • An analysis method for rubber toughened PVC is suggested to evaluate critical dynamic strain energy release rates($G_c$) from the Charpy impact energy measurements. An instrumented Charpy impact tester was used to extract ancillary information concerning fracture parameters in addition to total fracture energies and maximum critical loads. The dynamic stress intensity factor $K_{Id}$ was computed for varying amounts of rubber contents from the obtained maximum critical loads and also toughening effects were investigated as well. The fracture surfaces produced under low velocity impact fur PVC/MBS composites were investigated by SEM. The results show that MBS rubber is very effective reinforcement material for toughening PVC.C.

  • When micro data are released to users, record by record data are disclosed and the disclosure risk of respondent's information is inevitable. Statistical disclosure control techniques are statistical tools to reduce the risk of disclosure as well as to increase data utility in case of data release. In this paper, we reviewed the concept of disclosure and disclosure risk as well as statistical disclosure control techniques and then investigated selection strategies of a statistical disclosure control technique related with data utility. The risk-utility frontier map method was illustrated as an example. Finally, we listed some check points at each step when microdata are released.

Flame Dynamic Response to Inlet Flow Perturbation in a Turbulent Premixed Combustor (난류 예혼합 연소기에서의 흡입 유동 섭동에 대한 화염의 동적 거동)

  • This paper describes the forced flame response in a turbulent premixed gas turbine combustor. The fuel was premixed with the air upstream of a choked inlet to avoid equivalence ratio fluctuations. To impose the inlet flow velocity, a siren type modulation device was developed using an AC motor, rotating and static plates. Measurements were made of the velocity fluctuation in the nozzle using hot wire anemometry and of the heat release fluctuation in the combustor using chemiluminescence emission. The test results showed that flame length as well as geometry was strongly dependent upon modulation frequency in addition to operating conditions such as inlet velocity. Convection delay time between the velocity perturbation and heat release fluctuations was calculated using phase information of the transfer function, which agreed well with the results of flame length measurements. Also, basic characteristics of the flame nonlinear response shown in the current test conditions were introduced.

  • The Charpy and Izod impact tests are the most prevalent techniques used to characterize the effects of high impulse loads on polymeric materials.   • Presented in this paper is a scheduling method for semiconductor backend process considering the backward pegging. It is known that the pegging for frontend is a process of labeling WIP lots for target order which is specified by due date, quantity, and product specifications including customer information. As a result, it gives the release plan to meet the out target considering current WIP. However, the semiconductor backend process includes the multichip package and test operation for the product bin portion. Therefore, backward pegging method for frontend can't give the release plan for backend process in semiconductor. In this paper, we suggest backward pegging method considering the characteristics of multichip package and test operation in backend process. And we describe the backward pegging problem using the examples.

  • Software system which is essential in operating the computer has gradually become an indispensable element in many aspects of our daily lives and an important factor in numerous systems. In recent years, software cost sometimes exceeds the cost of maintaining the hardware system. In addition to the cost necessary to develop the new software system and to maintain the system, the penalty costs incurred due to software failures are even more significant. In this paper, a cost model incorporating the warranty cost, debugging costto remove each fault detected in the software system, and delivery delay cost is developed. A software reliability model based on non-homogeneous Poisson process(NHPP) is established and the optimal software release policies to minimize the expected total software cost are discussed. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the results.

  • Mobile Crowdsourcing (MCS) has become an emerging paradigm evolved from crowdsourcing by employing advanced features of mobile devices such as smartphones to perform more complicated, especially spatial tasks. One of the key procedures in MCS is to collect answers from mobile users (workers), which may face several security issues. First, authentication is required to ensure that answers are from authorized workers. In addition, MCS tasks are usually location-dependent, so the collected answers could disclose workers' location privacy, which may discourage workers to participate in the tasks. Finally, the overhead occurred by authentication and privacy protection should be minimized since mobile devices are resource-constrained. Considering all the above concerns, in this paper, we propose a lightweight and privacy-preserving answer collection scheme for MCS. In the proposed scheme, we achieve anonymous authentication based on traceable ring signature, which provides authentication, anonymity, as well as traceability by enabling malicious workers tracing. In order to balance user location privacy and data availability, we propose a new concept named current location privacy, which means the location of the worker cannot be disclosed to anyone until a specified time. Since the leakage of current location will seriously threaten workers' personal safety, causing such as absence or presence disclosure attacks, it is necessary to pay attention to the current location privacy of workers in MCS. We encrypt the collected answers based on timed-release encryption, ensuring the secure transmission and high availability of data, as well as preserving the current location privacy of workers. Finally, we analyze the security and performance of the proposed scheme. The experimental results show that the computation costs of a worker depend on the number of ring signature members, which indicates the flexibility for a worker to choose an appropriate size of the group under considerations of privacy and efficiency.

  • Request operations and release operations occur repeatedly in resource allocation systems. The process requesting a resource acquires one by any priority-based mechanism, and returns the resource after some periods. In this system, resource failures lead to delay of resource allocation, or to termination of process holding the failed resource. To analyze this process effectively, this paper designs a probabilistic ACSR, a process algebra that extends ACSR with the probabilistic choice operation. The ability to express/analyze both request-release rates and failure-recovery rates is illustrated using probabilistic ACSR.

  • The joint modelling of mean and dispersion in quasi-likelihood models which greatly extend the scope of generalized linear models, is required in case that the dispersion parameter, the variance component of response variables, is not constant but changes by depending on any covariates. In this paper, by using statistical package GENSTAT(release 5.3.2, 1996) which makes a easily analyze real data through this joint modelling, we mention necessities that must consider this joint modelling rather than existing mean models through model checking based on graphic methods for esterase assay data introduced by Carrol and Ruppert(1987, pp.46-47), and then study methods finding reasonable joint model of mean and dispersion for this data.

  • This paper investigates the standard features of Carrier aggregation (CA), the related UE RF requirements in 3GPP release 12 and estimated CA evolution in future. The main CA feature of 3GPP release 12 in WG4 perspectives includes 2Uplink(UL) CA, 3Downlink(DL) CA and TDD-FDD CA. To support these features in UE, UE-to-UE coexistence problem and RF requirements generated by unwanted emissions such as inter-modulation and harmonics are analyzed. Also, future CA technology such as LTE in unlicensed bands is described.
