Due to the application-specific nature of wireless sensor networks, the sensitivity to such a requirement as data reporting latency may vary depending on the type of applications, thus requiring application-specific algorithm and protocol design paradigms which help us to maximize energy conservation and thus the network lifetime. In this paper, we implement and evaluate a novel delay-adaptive sensor scheduling scheme for energy-saving data gathering which is based on a two phase clustering (TPC), in wireless sensor networks. The TPC is implemented on sensor Mote hardwares. With the help of TPC implemented, sensors selectively use direct links for control and forwarding time critical sensed data and relay links for data forwarding based on the user delay constraints given. Implementation study shows that TPC helps the sensors to increase a significant amount of energy while collecting sensed data from sensors in a real environment.

This study conducts survey on currently working police officers to examine the actual utilization of HUMINT and suggest measures for strengthening the effective intelligence police activity, Intelligence Led Policing. For the completeness of study, this study presented evidences based on survey data from police officers at sites and this study also suggested improvement measures. in regulating the scope of duty, "Act on the Performance of Duties by Police Officers" regulates that 'Gathering, preparation, and distribution of public safety information' is the duty of police officer and defines the information gathering activity of police as the unique work of police officer. Thus, in accordance with "Act on the Performance of Duties by Police Officers", police officers gather various information to prevent crimes and maintain orders. Among the information gathering methods used by police officer, HUMINT is the oldest measure and it is still utilized. HUMINT has the advantages of low expense, high accuracy, and critical impact on the other. Nevertheless, due to limitations in data objectification, measurement, and responses to double attack, HUMINT is underappreciated. With awareness on such HUMINT issues, this study conducted survey on in-service police officers and examined the actual state of HUMINT. Based on the survey result, this study suggested Intelligence-Led Policing as the effective application method.

It is not easy for business workers to find proper information for his job, because of the following problems:(1) information exist in various information system both internal and external with diverse formats(2) he cannot estimate relevance of all the information and (3) he cannot select proper information among large volume of information. The requirements for the systems are the following things:(1) search of relevant information from various internal and external information systems(2) proving an integrated view of information for workers, and (3) information processing and decision-making are seamlessly integrated fro business workers. We proposed an agent system to fulfill the requirements. We focus on the purchasing job, and developed a prototype system. PIPA(Purchasing Information Process Agent). The PIPA performs not only information processing jobs(information search gathering, display, business form -making)but also decision-making support job (evaluation of supplier candidates, and apply of sourcing policy) for sourcing manager. The framework of the PIPA can be appled to other information processing and desision-making jobs.

This study started from the public interest purpose to help accessibility for the information acquisition of the vulnerable groups due to visual difficulties such as the elderly and the visually impaired. In this study, the server resources are minimized and implemented in most of the user smart phones. In addition, we implement a method to gather necessary information by collecting only pattern information by utilizing crawl & clipping without having to visit the site of the information of the various sites having the data necessary for the user, and to have it in the server. Especially, we applied the TTS(Text-To-Speech) service composed of smart phone apps and tried to develop a unified customized information collection service based on voice-based information collection method.

In this paper, we design and develop a personalized advertisement and information services system based on mobile RFID using RFID virtual tag. It is a system to perform the use of the contents information or the commercial transaction on the contents products through internet server connection by using RFID tag information with a mobile according as transmitting immediately to a cell phone after a tag generator derived RFID tag information to be substituted for the contents information being output at present, after being transmitted from a cell phone the information request signal on the contents information being output from video media. This service system provides a mechanism for gathering advertisement information left behind by many clients visiting advertisement sites for analysis of customers property, service model for selecting personalized services, and mechanism for providing them to customers who visited in a advertisement mall joined to the shopping site.

The purpose of this study was to investigate job stressors of information planning process and the relevant affairs of Fashion Information Providers, using the qualitative research method. This study was performed by interview with 14 fashion information planning providers from April to May in 2007. In the information planning process, there were five steps on fashion information providers' recognitions of stressors: information gathering, analysing, planning, presenting and evaluating. In the relevant affairs of fashion information activities, job stressors consisted of task related stressors, role related stressors, organization related stressors, personal characteristics, and outsides of organization related stressors.

Players of construction projects proceed with each work process by information gathering, modification and communication. Due to the complex and long-span lifecycle projects increased, it became more important to grasp this mechanism for the successful project performance in construction project. Hence, most project information management systems or knowledge management systems equip information retrieval system. There are two logic to infer the meaning of retrieval target; inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning. The former is based on metadata explaining the target and the later is based on relation between data. To infer the information flow, it is necessary to define the correlation between players and work processes. However, most established information retrieval systems are based on index search system and it is not focused on correlation between data but data itself. Thus, this research aims to research on process of information flow retrieval system for large-scale construction projects.

This paper proposes techniques for wireless sensor network routing algorithm with small routing traffics. It reduces routing traffic by gathering routing messages for fixed duration of time and the routing message for the configuration result is sent once. The routing traffic gathering technique has disadvantage of longer network configuration time. To overcome this, first one or first few routing messages are delivered immediately and later routing messages are gathered for fixed duration of time. The proposed scheme was modelled and implemented in Qualnet simulator using C language. Experimental results show that the proposed techniques are effective for reducing routing traffics.
