Uncertified Facility (BSL 2 plus): Its Journey through Life for Preparations and Setting up, Compliance with Biosafety Regulations, Implementation, and Registration of the Facility with the Ministry of Health, Singapore

  • An uncertified facility is a facility not certified, as defined in the Biological Agents and Toxins Act (BATA) in Singapore, but has met the requirements of the Ministry of Health to possess First and Fifth Schedule biological agents and toxins. This type of facility is also known as a Biosafety Level 2 Plus (BSL 2+) facility. Registration as an uncertified facility or a BSL 2+ facility requires a certain process and procedure to be sought with the Biosafety Branch of the ministry. This review, shares first-hand knowledge on the journey to achieving registration of the authors' facility. The procedure involved considerable preparation, setting up facility requirements, biosafety precautions, procedures and practices, and training and competence of laboratory users. The ministry conducted a thorough onsite facility audit to ensure that the facility requirements and biosafety procedures and practices were in place. It then issued an approval letter of possession for the first-time use of biological agents and registered the laboratory as an uncertified facility. The expectation is that the comprehensive information shared may be of great benefit to other facilities with similar interests.

  • As school facilities have been expanding quantity better than quality, efficient school facility management has been focused on from 2001 in domestic. Due to obsolescence of school facility, objective management and maintenance cost of school facility is very important. However LCC(Life cycle cost) analyst, owner, engineer, contractor and facility manager have a difficulty to obtain and facilitate the basic analyzed data required to analyze LCC of school facility and establish maintenance plan. Therefore this research presents muti-dimensional analysis method through data warehouse technique for supplying maintenance cost information of school facility that can trace and accumulate the scattered LCCing data in the perspective of life cycle of school facility.

모바일 GIS를 활용한 도로시설물 DB구축의 효율성 향상 (The Improvement of the Road Facility Database Creation Using a Mobile GIS)

  • GIS는 복잡하고 다양한 시설물의 공간정보를 체계적, 과학적으로 관리하는데 유용하여, 최근에는 정보와 통신기술의 급속한 발전에 힘입어 모바일 GIS로 추세가 확산되고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 모바일 GIS 기술은 각종 시설물의 유지관리에는 도입되고 있으나, 현장성 및 이동성이 요구되는 시설물 DB구축에는 사용이 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 여러 가지 시설물중 도로시설물을 대상으로, DB구축 작업공정을 분석하여 모바일 GIS를 활용한 개선된 작업공정을 도출하였다. 그리고, 실험을 통해 기존방법 및 개선된 방법에 의한 도로시설물 DB구축 과정을 비교 분석함으로써, 모바일 GIS를 활용하여 도로시설물 DB구축의 효율성을 향상시키고자 하였다.

  • In the 21st century, medical facility projects are required to operate appropriate digital technologies as the development of technology and the interests of various participants become more complex. In order for architects to successfully lead negotiations among various stakeholder groups, it is necessary to plan for effective communication through appropriate design reflecting their opinions and coordination of conflicts. For this purpose, building information modeling (BIM), which is a method of designing based on knowledge information related to medical facilities in the building database, can respond to change of order promptly and minimizes the occurrence of design errors can do. Recently, BIM technology and cloud computing technology in ICT have been combined and research on cloud BIM has been actively carried out. The use of cloud computing technology in BIM-based healthcare facility projects can effectively support decision making among project participants and has the advantage of sharing and collaborating on various forms of information generated during the design process, regardless of location and time. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to build of system that can support the design of medical facility using cloud computing technology in BIM.

건축물 실시간 원격 스캔을 위한 SLAM 시스템 개발 시 고려사항 (Considerations for Developing a SLAM System for Real-time Remote Scanning of Building Facilities)

  • In managing building facilities, spatial information is the basic data for decision making. However, the method of acquiring spatial information is not easy. In many cases, the site and drawings are often different due to changes in facilities and time after construction. In this case, the site data should be scanned to obtain spatial information. The scan data actually contains spatial information, which is a great help in making space related decisions. However, to obtain scan data, an expensive LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) device must be purchased, and special software for processing data obtained from the device must be available.Recently, SLAM (Simultaneous localization and mapping), an advanced map generation technology, has been spreading in the field of robotics. Using SLAM, 3D spatial information can be obtained quickly in real time without a separate matching process. This study develops and tests whether SLAM technology can be used to obtain spatial information for facility management. This draws considerations for developing a SLAM device for real-time remote scanning for facility management. However, this study focuses on the system development method that acquires spatial information necessary for facility management through SLAM technology. To this end, we develop a prototype, analyze the pros and cons, and then suggest considerations for developing a SLAM system.

항만시설 유지관리 의사결정 지원 시스템 개발 연구 (A Study of Port Facility Maintenance and Decision-making Support System Development)

  • 연구목적: 현재 항만시설 정보화 기술은 계획과 설계단계에 편중되어 있어 생애주기 차원의 정보를 기반으로 한 항만시설 유지관리 체계에 관한 연구와 기술 개발의 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 연구방법: 항만시설의 유지관리 이력 데이터 및 시설 운영정보를 기반으로 항만시설의 생애 주기적 관점에서 노후화 패턴 분석과 성능저하 예측 모델, 리스크 분석을 통해 항만시설에 대한 유지관리 의사결정이 가능하도록 시스템 구성하고 정보를 표출하는 방법을 제안하였다. 연구결과: SOC성능평가와 본 연구에서 개발한 종합성능평가를 동시에 표출하는 기능을 개발하여 중장기적인 보수보강 및 시설 확충 등의 적용과 비교판단을 할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 결론:본 연구에서 개발한 항만 통합성능 시스템은 항만시설물에 대한 이력 정보 및 운영정보를 통해 적정한 보수, 보강 등 조치를 선제적으로 추진하게 함으로서 항만시설관리의 리스크 최소화를 유도하고 지원할 것으로 기대된다.

Effect of disabled facility worker's social support on their job satisfaction

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference in social support and job satisfaction of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics and job characteristics, and to understand the effect of social support on job satisfaction. A questionnaire was conducted against 143 disabled facility workers in D metropolitan city, from 5 January to 29 February 2016. The results of the study are as follows: first, no significant difference was found in the social support of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics, and only the factor of job area showed significant difference in social support according to job characteristics. Secondly, there was no significant difference in job satisfaction of disabled facility workers according to their general characteristics or job characteristics. Thirdly, support of the superior, as a sub-factor of social support recognised by the disabled facility worker, was found to have a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. This study seeks to become foundational data for the development of plans to improve the job satisfaction of disabled facility workers.

다차원 도시시설물 관리를 위한 멀티 텍스처 기법과 다중 스레드 기법의 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of Multi-Texture and Multi-Thread for Multi-Dimensions Urban Facility Management System)

  • 최근까지 도시시설물 관리를 위해 활용된 GIS 기술은 주로 2차원 기반의 GIS 기술이었다. 하지만 도시시설물은 3차원 공간상에 존재하며 이를 2차원으로 추상화시키면 정보의 손실이 일어나게 된다. 또한 도시 공간 내에 점차 시설물의 수가 증가하고 있고 대부분의 도시시설물이 지하공간에 위치하기 때문에 2차원 기반의 시스템에서 도시 내 모든 시설물의 정보를 통시에 파악하고 관리하는 것이 어려워지고 있다 본 논문에서는 멀티 텍스처 기법을 이용한 다차원 도시시설물 관리 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 3차원 상에서 도시시설물을 가시화하여 데이터의 손실을 줄이고 정보의 가독성을 높이며, 2차원 벡터 데이터의 3차원 라스터 변환을 통한 가시화 기법을 개발하여 다양한 2차원 GIS 의 공간분석 결과를 3차원 데이터와 동시에 활용할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 3차원 데이터를 처리하는 경우에 시스템의 속도 및 성능이 저하되어 활용 효율성이 떨어지는 문제를 해결하기 위하여 다중 스레드 프로세스를 적용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기술은 기존에 텍스처를 통해 보여주던 센서의 상태정보를 3차원 영상, 시설물 데이터와 함께 시각정보로 표출함으로써 직관적인 시설물 모니터링이 가능해졌다는데 의의가 있다.

  • GIS was introduced to spatial information of complex and various facility systematically and scientifically. And, recently, new trend has been spread by Mobile GIS owing to its fast development of information and communication technology However, these Mobile GIS techniques were introduced in maintenances of various facilities. Due to its mismanagement, the use became insufficient in facilities causing database creation to require realism and mobility. Therefore, in this research, to road facility of various facilities, it deduced improving the work process by using a Mobile GIS to analyze work process of the road facility database creation. And, through an experiment, by comparing and analyzing road facilities database creation process by existing method and improving method, could improvement of road facility database creation using a Mobile GIS.

  • In this paper, for deriving core function requirements of facility maintenance using BIM(Building Information Modeling) customized surveys were conducted with 30 facility managers during 6 momths from July 2014. As a result, 19 core function requirements for efficient facility maintenance are drawn. The core of Building facility management function is that opinions of facilities maintenance managers should be fully reflected than that of BIM experts. In the future, the development of maintenance programs based on BIM should be made fully by reflecting the opinions of building facility managers on the basis of this questionnaire survey results.
