  • Very Fast Transients (VFT) originate mainly from disconnector switching operations in Gas Insulated Substations (GIS). In order to determine the rate-of-rise of Very Fast Transient Overvoltage (VFTO) in a 550 kV GIS, simulations are carried out using EMTP-RV. Each component of the GIS is modeled by distributed line model and lumped model based on equivalent circuits. The various switching conditions according to closing point-on-wave and trapped charge are simulated, and the results are analyzed. Also, the analysis of travelling wave using a lattice diagram is conducted to verify the simulation results.

  • This paper presents a technique of contstructing and processing the metadata information, which is for UML class authorization tool. Construction of the information authorization tool defines Classes and Relationship based on the elements of the consisting of UML class diagram. Definition of the information class is a visibility of Class, a name of Class, an attribution of Class and an operation of Class. Definition of the relationship with information is a name of Relationship, a type of Relationship, a FromClass and a ToClass. In this paper, for a class authorization tool, it suggests a technique to save and read information from information Storage based on the constructed information.

  • Personal information security has been as risk ever since the development of information technology increased its internet use. As personal information security is compromised there will be a rise in personal privacy conflicts and this will become an important social issue. The following research is a presentation of the warning map for risk monitoring on personal information security. First, the personal information security process is identified then defined. Second, in order to achieve the personal information security's objective, a survey was taken and the data was collected. Third, factor in the Fishbone Diagram's analysis and figure out the key indicators that include metric and threshold. Last, develop the warning map which has the matrix table composed of the process and the risk. It displays the warning based on the threshold and the value of key indicators related to risks.

  • In developing information systems, conceptual modeling is among the most fundamental means. The importance attributed to conceptual modeling has not only given rise to a lot of modeling methods, but also to the "yet another modeling approach (YAMA)" syndrome and the "not another modeling approach (NAMA)" hysteria. Criticism of conceptual modeling methods usually targets their lacking of theoretical foundations. In response to such criticism, various approaches towards theoretical foundations of conceptual modeling have been proposed so far. One of the recent responses to the quest for theoretical foundations of conceptual modeling is the reference to the philosophical ontology. The currently most prominent of diverse approaches towards ontological foundations of conceptual modeling appears to be the Bunge-Wand-Weber (BWW) ontology. Recent approaches attempt to regard BWW ontology as another conceptual data model as well as a criterion for evaluating various conceptual models. However, unfortunately, relatively few researches have been made on interoperability between the Entity-Relationship (ER) model, which is the most dominant conceptual data model, and ontology based model. In this paper, we investigate the interoperability between ontology and the ER model. In detail we (i) reclassify components of ER model with respect to ontology concepts, (ii) identify some components that cannot be directly represented in ontology notation, and (iii) present alternative representations to the components to acquire ontologically clear ER diagrams. Additionally, we (iv) present a set of mapping rules for converting the ontologically clear ER diagram into the corresponding ontology. In a case study, we show the process of converting an ER diagram for a concise Project Management System (PMS) into the ontologically clear ER diagram and the corresponding ontology. We also describe an experiment that we undertook to test whether users understand the Ontologically-Clear ER diagram better.

  • Much amount of data which demand fuzzy information system requires various analysis through the fuzzy set visualization. Therefore, this study proposes how to visualize fuzzy data set using variation of Venn diagram. For the fuzzy data which are related to many topics and have ranking of relation, this way gives results that users want by visualizing intersection, union and complementary set. That is, it visualizes the set of fuzzy data which have many topics at once, or the set of all fuzzy data which has topics, or the set of fuzzy data not related to a topic. Users control these sets by overlapping or piling them; visualized with Venn diagram, which is user-oriented. One distinct advantage of this visualization is the fact that it delivers web documents which users of search engine and web developers want much quickly. Furthermore, its possibility can be expanded to several purposes by using for information retrieval.

  • Depending on point of view, a service can be defined as interactions between customers and service providers or service delivery processes or customer's experiences. To develop and design a new service, the most of approaches presented in the previous researches represent a service mainly by the interactive activities or functions between customers and providers. The critical features of services which differentiate services from physical products are the inseparability that production and consumption occur at the same time and the heterogeneity that each customer ask their requirements to providers. To reflect the characteristics on the service model, we have to include contextual features in the service model. For the purpose, we define a service as the process of solving the customer's problems and a service is structured into three components: contacts, informations, and activities. We suggest the job mapping diagram to model a service process by the three components and then apply it to a hotel service process and compare the result with it of a blueprint.

  • The purpose of this article is to set up the scientific and reasonable norm of location and service area determination instead of the pro-administrative lacking availability, so as to propose more practical and reasonable standard of space unit for the location of facilities. This article has accepted the method of Voronoi Diagram as a new scientific and reasonable criteria. The article chooses and realizes a model that can propose a new service area, transform and apply to improve its reality, and assesses which has more reality and compatibility by comparing the models. The result from this procedure can be adapted in objectification of the service area determination and formation of the standard space unit.

  • In this study, we propose reliability prediction of a satellite by function analysis. To do so, the intended functions of the satellite are derived from using function structure block diagram, and defined as main, sub, and detailed functions. Furthermore, in order to generate function and reliability structure table, reliability model rule, duty cycle, and types of switch are assigned to the classified functions. This study also establishes reliability block diagram and mathematical reliability models to schematize the relationship among the functions. The reliability of the classified function is estimated by calculating the failure rate of parts comprising them. Finally, we apply the proposed method to a small satellite as a case study. The result shows that the reliability for the detailed function and the sub function as well as the main function could be predicted quantitatively and accurately by the proposed approach.
