Bar-Code Shape UHF RFID Tag Antenna (바코드 모양의 UHF RFID 태그 안테나 설계)

  • A bar-code shape UHF RFID tag antenna is designed and fabricated with silver conductive ink. It can be recognize by both bar-code scanner and RFID reader. The bar-code shape is taken from a general box of a product, and the product code of the bar-code is used for the antenna design. The tag antenna is fabricated with silver conductive ink using a T-matching structure. The designed tag antenna is satisfied with bar-code system and RFID system simultaneously. The input reflection coefficient characteristics and the reading range pattern are measured. The peak reading range is about 111 cm, which is long enough.

Fractal Deformation using Code and Displacement Vectors (코드와 변위 벡터를 이용한 프랙탈 변형)

  • We consider a deformation method suitable for fractal. In IFS fractal, the position of a point is characterized by its code as well as by its coordinates. Code has a meaning of address for fractal. If we move a point by changing its code, the resulting movement shows fractal behavior. We propose three deformation methods based on code information. For the deformation vector of a point in fractal, 1) we use the vector of a given vector field at the point obtained by code transformation, 2) we use the vector constructed by adding predefined displacement vectors according to the code information of the point. Both methods show a fractal-like character as well as an ordinary continuous deformation character. Also, 3) we can deform fern-fractal more naturally by restricting its deforming region using code form.

Development of High-level Method for Representing Explicit Verb Phrases of Building Code Sentences for the Automated Building Permit System of Korea (서술부의 함수체계화를 통한 인허가관련 건축법규의 자동검토 응용방안)

  • As building information modeling (BIM) is expanding its influence in various fields of architecture, engineering, construction and facility management (AEC-FM) industry, BIM-based automated code compliance checking has become possible prospects. For the automated code compliance checking, requirements in building code need to be processed into explicit representation that enables automated reasoning. This paper aims to develop high-level methods that translate verb phrases into explicit representation. The high-level methods represent conditions, properties, and related actions of the building objects and clarify the core content of the constraints. The authors analyze building permit requirements in Korea Building Code and establish a standardized process of deriving the high-level methods. As a result, 60 kinds of the high-level methods were derived. In addition, method classification, analysis, and application are introduced. This study will contribute to the representation of explicit building code sentences and establishment of the automated building permit system of Korea.

  • In this paper, a two-dimensional (2D) modulation code is introduced. The proposed code does not have any isolated pixel that is the most unwanted problem for holographic data storage. The proposed 2D modulation code is simpler than conventional 6/8 code and removes all the isolated 2D ISI patterns. As a result, when the grade of blur is 1.4, the proposed modulation code has better performance overall than conventional 6/8 modulation code. The proposed code has the optimal performance when 4bit quantization is applied.

  • In this paper, we proposed preamble structure and code acquisition method to improve code acquisition performance for DS-SS/TDMA packet communication systems. Proposed algorithm changes the short PN code position depending on the sub slot number. Proposed algorithm also saves position differences between short PN codes and position offsets between short PN codes and data starting position of the TDMA packet. By using the position difference table, proposed algorithm can find out exact data starting position even though some sub slots were defected. As a result of simulation, we concluded that proposed algorithm has at least 5dB gain compared to conventional method when same short PN code is used. Moreover, proposed algorithm shows same code acquisition performance only with 1/4 shortened short PN code compared to conventional method.

  • In this paper, we propose performance improvement algorithm for high data rate wireless personal area network (HDR-WPAN) system using turbo code. Turbo code increase detection delay and computation according to iterate counts. However, turbo code has been shown to be very close th the Shanon limit, can be classified as a block-based error correction code. Turbo code has gain about E$_b$/N$_o$=5.8dB at 10$^{-4}$ in the multipath indoor channel. In the result, HDR-WPAN system adopted turbo code has reliable communication by low power.

  • Recently, the malicious code is not easily detectable in the vaccine for the virus, malicious code as a compressed file by modulation pattern is the tendency to delay. Among the many antivirus engines on the market a compressed file that can be modulated by malicious code, and test whether the pattern will need to know. We cover a multi-compressed files, malicious code modulated secreted by examining patterns of test engine is being detected is through a computer simulation. Analysis of secreted activities of malicious code and infect the host file tampering with the system driver files and registry, it gets registered is analyzed. this study will contribute hidden malicious code inspection and enhance vaccine efficacy in reducing the damage caused by malicious code.

QR code as speckle pattern for reinforced concrete beams using digital image correlation

  • Digital Image Correlation technique (DIC) is a non-contact optical method for rapid structural health monitoring of critical infrastructure. An innovative approach to DIC is presented using QR (Quick Response) code based random speckle pattern. Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) beams of size $1800mm{\times}150mm{\times}200mm$ are tested in flexure. DIC is used to extract Moment (M) - Curvature (${\kappa}$) relationships using random speckle patterns and QR code based random speckle patterns. The QR code based random speckle pattern is evaluated for 2D DIC measurements and the QR code speckle pattern performs satisfactorily in comparison with random speckle pattern when considered in the context of serving a dual purpose. Characteristics of QR code based random speckle pattern are quantified and its applicability to DIC is explored. The ultimate moment-curvature values computed from the QR code based random speckled pattern are found to be in good agreement with conventional measurements. QR code encrypts the structural information which enables integration with building information modelling (BIM).

  • The container BIC-code is a transport protocol for convenience in international shipping and combined transport environment. It is an identification code of a marine transport container which displays a wide variety of information including country's code. Recently, transportation through aircrafts and ships continues to rise. Thus fast and accurate processes are required in the ports to manage transportation. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a BIC-code region extraction and recognition method using multiple thresholds. In the code recognition, applying a fixed threshold is not reasonable due to a variety of illumination conditions caused by change of weather, lightening, camera position, color of the container and so on. Thus, the proposed method selects the best recognition result at the final stage after applying multiple thresholds to recognition. For each threshold, we performs binarization, labeling, BIC-code pattern decision (horizontal or vertical pattern) by morphological close operation, and character separation from the BIC-code. Then, each characters is recognized by template matching. Finally we measure recognition confidence scores for all the thresholds and choose the best one. Experimental results show that the proposed method yields accurate recognition for the container BIC-code with robustness to illumination change.

  • Recently, Information and Communication Technology and SMART Phone Technology have been rapidly developed. According to the increase of data use, the era of big data has come. With the approach of non-contact society, QR Codes are becoming inseparable in our lives. In this paper, we are trying to figure out the implications of QR Code research based on Big Data in Korea. The purpose of this study is to first examine the previous studies on "QR Code" and conduct an analysis on keywords by field using Big Data. Second, for data visualization WordCloud analysis and network analysis are performed on "QR Code" frequent keyword. Third, we would like to present the research direction to future researchers regarding "QR Code". In the results, First of all, research trends showed that research is on the rise and that various fields are being utilized. Second, the results of the analysis of frequent keyword resulted in similar results overall, with some differences depending on the field and year. Third, we found that the visualization results according to the frequent keyword were also analyzed in the same way as the frequent keyword analysis results. The practical implications of the theoretical findings are as follows. First, 'QR Code' needs to be studied as a means of information delivery, not as a technical aspect. Second, it can be seen that "QR Code" is developing reflecting social trends or issues. With both theoretical and practical implications, we are trying to provide the strategic ways of QR-code in future.
