Multi-User Detection using Support Vector Machines

  • In this paper, support vector machines (SVM) are applied to multi-user detector (MUD) for direct sequence (DS)-CDMA system. This work shows an analytical performance of SVM based multi-user detector with some of kernel functions, such as linear, sigmoid, and Gaussian. The basic idea in SVM based training is to select the proper number of support vectors by maximizing the margin between two different classes. In simulation studies, the performance of SVM based MUD with different kernel functions is compared in terms of the number of selected support vectors, their corresponding decision boundary, and finally the bit error rate. It was found that controlling parameter, in SVM training have an effect, in some degree, to SVM based MUD with both sigmoid and Gaussian kernel. It is shown that SVM based MUD with Gaussian kernels outperforms those with other kernels.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 정보품질과 서비스품질이 백화점의 서비스 만족도에 미치는 영향과 효과를 실증적으로 분석하는데 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 문헌연구와 요인분석, 분산분석, 회귀분석을 이용한 실증적 연구를 함께 실시하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 회귀분석결과 정보품질과 서비스 만족도와의 관계는 통계적 유의성이 매우 높게 분석되었다. 둘째, 분산분석에서 서비스품질에 따라 정보만족과 서비스기대치와의 관계도 유의성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결과적으로 정보지원체계와 서비스품질은 고객과의 관계에 있어서 주요한 요인으로 분석되었다.

국내 대학도서관 연구지원서비스의 현단계 (A Study on the Present Stage of Research Support Services of Academic Library in Korea)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 국내 대학도서관이 교수 및 연구자를 위하여 제공하는 연구지원서비스를 강화할 수 있는 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위하여, 전국 대학도서관의 발전계획서를 수집하고 발전계획서에 나타난 연구 활동 지원 계획을 분석하고, 각 대학도서관의 홈페이지를 분석하였다. 또한, 이 연구는 심층분석을 위하여 국내 대학도서관 연구지원서비스를 8개 유형으로 분류하였다. 각 유형은 '주제가이드', '학술정보활용교육', '연구분석서비스', '연구상담지원', '연구윤리교육', '논문작성안내', '서지관리프로그램', '상호대차·원문복사'이다. 연구의 결과, 가장 많은 도서관들이 '맞춤형 이용자교육'을 중시하여 발전계획서에서 추진계획을 밝힌 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 '주제별 학술DB교육 확대', '맞춤형 연구지원 서비스 확대', '연구지원 서비스 체계 구축' 순으로 실행계획을 제시하였다. 이 연구는 대학도서관의 연구 지원 강화 방안으로 '주제가이드 서비스 제공의 활성화', '연구지원을 위한 도서관 학술정보교육 확대', '연구성과분석 서비스 도입', '연구윤리 확립 지원'을 제시하였다.

일본의 고령자 지원을 위한 정보통신기술 정책 동향 및 활용 (Policy Trends and Utilization of Information Communications Technologies for the Senior Support in Japan)

  • 초고령 사회 일본은 다양한 사회문제 해결 방법 중 하나로 정보통신기술의 활용을 적극적으로 추진하고 있다. 특히 머지않아 초고령 사회에 진입할 우리나라로서는 고령자 지원과 관련한 ICT활용에 대한 일본의 정책 및 현황을 살펴보는 것은 의미가 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 문헌조사를 통하여 일본의 고령자 지원관련 ICT정책 및 활용 현황을 살펴보고 우리나라 고령자 지원과 관련하여 다음과 같은 사항을 제안하였다. 고령자 지원관련 현장에서 ICT기술이 실질적으로 활용될 수 있는 기회가 넓혀져야 하며, 일본의 경우처럼 고령자 지원에 있어서 개호와 의료의 연계가 중요하기 때문에 이러한 기관간의 정보연계네트워크 구축을 위한 노력이 필요하다. 또한 다양한 로봇의 개발 및 보급을 통해 개호자와 관련 인력의 서류업무의 간소화 및 개호 부담의 완화를 모색해야 한다. 그리고 ICT활용을 통한 고령자를 위한 정서지지 및 안정을 위한 기술의 보급도 적극 추진되어야 한다.

  • Although the concept of viewing knowledge as a critical resource has been widely accepted in prior studies, it is not fully understood how to acquire available knowledge in order to improve organizational effectiveness. However, it si sure that organizational knowledge management should pursuit the achievement of the business goal by delivering relevant and useful information to the right person at the right time. Group Support System (GSS) can play an important role to transfer scatter information into meaningful business knowledge for supporting strategic corporate decision-making. This study proposes a fuzzy GSS framework for acquiring workgroup knowledge from individual memory and aggregating workgroup knowledge to organizational knowledge. This study also proposes an architecture to support the fuzzy GSS framework. The architecture consists of user agents, information management agents, and a fuzzy model manager. To illustrate how the fuzzy GSS framework can be used to support the whole process of organization knowledge acquisition, an Internet-based GSS was developed and applied in a marketing decision process. It showed that the framework was effective for acquiring organizational knowledge.

웹사이트 개발 수준에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Factors Influencing the Web Site Development)

  • IT and e-business is a hot issue of the world business and economic communities. The web site is the portal through which most of electronic transactions are conducted today. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate on factors influencing the web site development at the firms in Korea. Survey questionnaires were distributed via email & post to 281 firms that have implemented web site. Out of 44 responded questionnaires, 39 data sets were available for statistical analysis with SPPSSWin 10.1. Factor analysis identified five dimensions of web site development : (1) support of top management, (2) information technologies maturity, (3) strategic utilization of web site, (4) strength of rivalry among competing firm, (5) support policy of the government. Results of this study show that information technologies maturity and strategic utilization of web site positively influence on web site development. But support of top management, strength of rivalry among competing firm and support policy of the government don't influence on web site development. This study may provide a guideline to improve the quality of web site development.

  • The study identifies the importance of informational and legislative support in ensuring gender equality. It determines the relevance of gender inequality, the main problem, which is confirmed by research and statistical information. The study aims to determine the methods of collecting information and legal regulation of gender issues and the possibility of solving them by public authorities. The main methods of gathering information are census surveys, questionnaires, surveys on public service websites, work with local communities, surveys in nursing homes and orphanages, special survey programs, and election polls. The paper considers the legal regulation of gender inequalities at the international, state, local and organizational levels. According to the analysis of the problem of gender inequality, it is established that the problem is practically eliminated in many developed countries, while countries with low incomes face gender inequality constantly.

앙상블 SVM을 이용한 동적 웹 정보 예측 시스템 (Dynamic Web Information Predictive System Using Ensemble Support Vector Machine)

  • 기존의 웹 정보 예측 시스템은 예측에 필요한 정보를 얻기 위하여 사용자 프로파일과 사용자로부터의 명시적 피드백 정보를 필요로 하는 단점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하고자 웹 사이트에 접속한 고객의 행동을 나타내는 클릭 스트림 데이터와 이를 기반으로 한 사용자의 암시적 피드백 정보를 이용하여 각 사용자가 가장 필요로 하는 웹 정보를 예측한다. 이를 이용하여 관련 정보를 제공할 수 있는 앙상블 SVM을 이용한 동적 웹 정보 예측 시스템을 설계하고 구현하며, 기존의 웹 정보 예측 시스템과 성능 비교를 수행한 결과, 제안된 방법의 우수함이 입증되었다.

웹기반 농업정보시스템 성공요인에 관한 연구 (Success Factors for Web-based Agricultural Information Systems)

  • This study reviews and modifies general IS success models to find success factors of WIS(Web-based Information Systems) and to confirm the relationship between WIS success and user's satisfaction of web use. A WISSM(Web-based Information Success Model extended to include EQ(E-Quality) is developed to anticipate user's intention to use Web-based Agricultural Information System and fit into the survey data from 252 WIS users of RDA(Rural Development Administration). PLS is applied to estimate a structural model based on EQ-WISSM to test hypotheses including 1) users reach a high level of intention to use Web-based Information Systems when they feel a high level of interactivity among an 'E-Quality', 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction' and 'Task Support Satisfaction', and E-Quality boosts intention to use Web-based Information Systems. The results show high path coefficients and $R^2$ values and find followings; First, the EQ-WISSM explains the user's intention to use WAIS quite well. Second, E-Quality can be used well in web-based IS environment to predict IS Success. Finally, this research finds the importance of 'Task Support Satisfaction' as a mediator between 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction', 'E-Quality' and 'Intention to Use'.

중소기업 환경에서의 합목적적 정보시스템 활용을 위한 최종사용자 피드백 탐색행위의 중요성 (Importance of End User's Feedback Seeking Behavior for Faithful Appropriation of Information Systems in Small and Medium Enterprises)

  • Small-and-medium sized enterprises(SMEs) represent quite a large proportion of the industry as a whole in terms of the number of enterprises or employees. However researches on information system so far have focused on large companies, probably because SMEs were not so active in introducing information systems as larger enterprises. SMEs are now increasingly bringing in information systems such as ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning Systems) and some of the companies already entered the stage of ongoing use. Accordingly, researches should deal with the use of information systems by SME s operating under different conditions from large companies. This study examined factors and mechanism inducing faithful appropriation of information systems, in particular integrative systems such as ERP, in view of individuals` active feedback-seeking behavior. There are three factors expected to affect end users` feedback-seeking behavior for faithful appropriation of information systems. They are management support, peer IT champ support, and IT staff support. The main focus of the study is on how these factors affect feedback-seeking behavior and whether the feedback-seeking behavior plays the role of mediator for realizing faithful appropriation of information systems by end users. To examine the research model and the hypotheses, this study employed an empirical method based on a field survey. The survey used measurements mostly employed and verified by previous researches, while some of the measurements had gone through minor modifications for the purpose of the study. The survey respondents are individual employees of SMEs that have been using ERP for one year or longer. To prevent common method bias, Task-Technology Fit items used as the control variable were made to be answered by different respondents. In total, 127 pairs of valid questionnaires were collected and used for the analysis. The PLS(Partial Least Squares) approach to structural equation modeling(PLS-Graph v.3.0) was used as our data analysis strategy because of its ability to model both formative and reflective latent constructs under small-and medium-size samples. The analysis shows Reliability, Construct Validity and Discriminant Validity are appropriate. The path analysis results are as follows; first, the more there is peer IT champ support, the more the end user is likely to show feedback-seeking behavior(path-coefficient=0.230, t=2.28, p<0.05). In other words, if colleagues proficient in information system use recognize the importance of their help, pass on what they have found to be an effective way of using the system or correct others' misuse, ordinary end users will be able to seek feedback on the faithfulness of their appropriation of information system without hesitation, because they know the convenience of getting help. Second, management support encourages ordinary end users to seek more feedback(path-coefficient=0.271, t=3.06, p<0.01) by affecting the end users' perceived value of feedback(path-coefficient=0.401, t=6.01, p<0.01). Management support is far more influential than other factors that when the management of an SME well understands the benefit of ERP, promotes its faithful appropriation and pays attention to employees' satisfaction with the system, employees will make deliberate efforts for faithful appropriation of the system. However, the third factor, IT staff support was found not to be conducive to feedback-seeking behavior from end users(path-coefficient=0.174, t=1.83). This is partly attributable to the fundamental reason that there is little support for end users from IT staff in SMEs. Even when IT staff provides support, end users may find it less important than that from coworkers more familiar with the end users' job. Meanwhile, the more end users seek feedback and attempt to find ways of faithful appropriation of information systems, the more likely the users will be able to deploy the system according to the purpose the system was originally meant for(path-coefficient=0.35, t=2.88, p<0.01). Finally, the mediation effect analysis confirmed the mediation effect of feedback-seeking behavior. By confirming the mediation effect of feedback-seeking behavior, this study draws attention to the importance of feedback-seeking behavior that has long been overlooked in research about information system use. This study also explores the factors that promote feedback-seeking behavior which in result could affect end user`s faithful appropriation of information systems. In addition, this study provides insight about which inducements or resources SMEs should offer to promote individual users' feedback-seeking behavior when formal and sufficient support from IT staff or an outside information system provider is hardly expected. As the study results show, under the business environment of SMEs, help from skilled colleagues and the management plays a critical role. Therefore, SMEs should seriously consider how to utilize skilled peer information system users, while the management should pay keen attention to end users and support them to make the most of information systems.
