This paper introduces a new technique for block is matching motion estimation. Since the temporal correlation of the image sequence, the motion vector of a block is highly related to the motion vector of the same coordinate block in the previous image frame. If we can obtain useful and enough information from the motion vector of the same coordinate block of the previous frame, the total number of search points used to find the motion vector of the current block may be reduced significantly. Using that idea, an efficient predicted direction search algorithm (PDSA) for block matching algorithm is proposed. Based on the direction of the blocks of the two successive previous frames, if the direction of the to successive blocks is same, the first search point of the proposed PDSA is moved two pixels to the direction of the block. The searching process after moving the first search point is processed according to the fixed search patterns. Otherwise, full search is performed with search area $\pm$2. Simulation results show that PSNR values are improved up to the 3.4dB as depend on the image sequences and improved about 1.5dB on an average. Search times are reduced about 20% than the other fast search algorithms. Simulation results also show that the performance of the PDSA scheme gives better subjective picture quality than the other fast search algorithms and is closer to that of the FS(Full Search) algorithm.
Generally, search engine summarizes the main contents of the search results so that user can click the site providing the information of the contents to search first. In this study, we demonstrated whether the user clicks on the search results based on the summary content provided by the search engine or on the order of the search result placement through empirical studies through the presentation of search results. By using the API provided by the search engine company, a search site that presents the search results in a regular and inverse order is created, and the click action of each user's search result is displayed in the order of actual click order, click position, and the user's search type such as the route of movement. As a result of the analysis, most users account for more than 60% of users who click on the first and second exposed search results regardless of the search results. It is confirmed that the search priority of users is determined according to the order of search results regardless of the summary of search results.

There are lots of medicine information on the internet recently. But there is no specific research result about search patterns or acquisition methods of medicine information on web pages for lay people until now. In this paper, 1 analyzed the web log files of a certain company providing medicine information using the WiseLog tool. I analyzed three kinds of statistic result of the web log files such as the status of web page usage by types of users, the status of web page menu usage, and the status of search menu usage. As results, I proposed methods of supplement and improvement for companies providing medicine information on the internet.
In the paper, we propose an algorithm that significantly reduces unnecessary computations, while keeping prediction quality almost similar to that of the full search. In the proposed algorithm, we can reduces only unnecessary computations efficiently by taking different search patterns and error criteria of block matching according to distribution probability of motion vectors. Our algorithm takes only 20~30% in computational amount and has decreased prediction quality about 0~0.02dB compared with the fast full search of the H.264 reference software. Our algorithm will be useful to real-time video coding applications using MPEG-2/4 AVC standards.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between users' preferences of Personality types and their attitude towards patterns of Web OPAC use mainly focus on their search behaviour and their preferences for the interface. Data res collected through the MBTI test and self-designed online questionnaire. The original MBTI personality types were re-coded into 4 categories of preferences of personality types, that is, E(Extraversion), I(Introversion), S(Sensing), N(iNtuition), T(Thinking)-F(Feeling), and J(Judging)-P(Perception) and then analysed their correlation with patterns of Web OPAC use by Person's correlation coefficient (r) in SPSS Windows Ver. 11.0. It is noteworthy that 9 out of 28 factors of Web OPAC search behaviour and preferences for interfaces show statistically significant correlation with users' MBTI preferences of personality types.

The purpose of this study is to identify what fields are used to decide how to proceed to the next screen and what factors affect the selection of the fields used on the online catalog system. The initial search option chosen by the users differed statistically according to the type of online catalog system used and the type of query. However, the type of user did not affect the choices of the initial search option. On the citation list screen, the title field was the most frequently used to move to the citation screen. On the citation screen, also, the title field was the most frequently used for confirming a retrieved citation.

The purpose of this study is to suggest some improvements of information service on the Internet through a comparative analysis of information use patterns of science and technology researchers in universities, research institutes and business enterprises. We classify information use patterns into information use purpose, information use types, a frequently used/referenced portal site, the initial method of internet search, information service selection factors and the channels of off-line information acquisition. The results of this study are as follows: First, according to frequency analysis, there are some information use patterns among S & T research groups. Second, according to ${\chi}^2$ analysis, there are some significant differences in ratio of information use patterns among them.

This paper proposes a novel way of personalized web search through re-ranking the search results with user profiles of concept-network structure. Basically, personalized search systems need to be based on user profiles that contain users' search patterns, and they actively use the user profiles in order to expand initial queries or to re-rank the search results. The proposed method is a sort of a re-ranking personalized search method integrated with query expansion facility. The method identifies some documents which occur commonly among a set of different search results from the expanded queries, and re-ranks the search results by the degree of co-occurring. We show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional ones by performing the empirical web search with a number of actual users who have diverse information needs and query intents.
Recently there has been interested in the role of emotion in human computer interaction fields. The present study investigated whether the users emotional state effects on information search pattern for decision making in small screen display. In experiment, to induce specific emotional states(positive and negative emotional state), the participants were asked to listen to music and imagine autobiographic events with different emotional impacts. Subsequently, they performed time limit search tasks with three travel information on small screen display and their search patterns were recorded on real time. The results indicated that a positive emotional state caused more wide and fast Information search pattern in comparison with neutral and negative emotional state. And neutral and negative emotional state caused more cognitive resource to details in comparison with positive emotional state.

In this paper, we propose a novel recommendation model based on Doc2vec using search keywords and product details. Until now, a lot of prior studies on recommender systems have proposed collaborative filtering (CF) as the main algorithm for recommendation, which uses only structured input data such as customers' purchase history or ratings. However, the use of unstructured data like online customer review in CF may lead to better recommendation. Under this background, we propose to use search keyword data and product detail information, which are seldom used in previous studies, for product recommendation. The proposed model makes recommendation by using CF which simultaneously considers ratings, search keywords and detailed information of the products purchased by customers. To extract quantitative patterns from these unstructured data, Doc2vec is applied. As a result of the experiment, the proposed model was found to outperform the conventional recommendation model. In addition, it was confirmed that search keywords and product details had a significant effect on recommendation. This study has academic significance in that it tries to apply the customers' online behavior information to the recommendation system and that it mitigates the cold start problem, which is one of the critical limitations of CF.
