  • In the 4th Industrial Revolution, the healthcare industry is undergoing a paradigm shift from post-care and management systems based on diagnosis and treatment to disease prevention and management based on personal precision medicine. To optimize medical services for individual patients, an open ecosystem for the healthcare industry that allows the exchange and utilization of personal health records (PHRs) is required. However, under the current system of hospital-centered data management, it is difficult to implement the linking and sharing of PHRs in practice. To address this problem, in this study, we present the design and implementation of a patient-centered PHR platform using blockchain technology. This platform achieved transparency and reliability in information management by eliminating the risk of leakage and tampering/altering personal information, which could occur when using a PHR. In addition, the patient-consent system was applied to a PHR; thus, the patient acted as the user with ownership. The proposed blockchain-based PHR platform enables the integration of personal medical information with scattered distribution across multiple hospitals, and allows patients to freely use their health records in their daily lives and emergencies. The proposed platform is expected to serve as a stepping stone for patient-centered healthcare data management and utilization.

  • The "Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral (KIGAM) Quake" is a web-based open platform developed for publicly serving seismological data from 61 stations operated by KIGAM in Korea. The service provides meta-information related to observatory sites, sensors, and recorders necessary for utilizing the seismological data, as well as mainly observed continuous and strong-motion waveforms. The data is available through both the web and International Federation of Digital Seismograph Networks (FDSN) web services (open API), a unified data-providing interface in seismology. The platform aims to strengthen its open nature by offering a signal processing function for strong ground motions that can be controlled by user requests. The processed results can be downloaded in ASCII format, designed to meet the increased demands and accessibility in the earthquake engineering field. The platform also offers earthquake research information produced by KIGAM, such as recent major earthquake source information and academic annual report of earthquakes. Additionally, a site flat file was constructed for the geotechnical characteristics of 61 KIGAM station (KGNET) sites based on direct investigations and estimations.

  • As real estate values rise, interest in cadastral resurvey is increasing. Accordingly, a cadastral resurvey project is actively underway for drone operation through securing work efficiency and improving accuracy. The need for utilization and management of cadastral resurvey results (drone images) is being raised, and through this study, a 3D spatial information platform was developed to solve the existing drone image management and utilization limitations and to provide drone image-based 3D cadastral information. It is proposed to build and use. The study area was selected as a district that completed the latest cadastral resurvey project in which the study was organized in February 2023. Afterwards, a web-based 3D platform was applied to the study to solve the user's spatial limitations, and the platform was designed and implemented based on drone images, spatial information, and attribute information. Major functions such as visualization of cadastral resurvey results based on 3D information and comparison of performance between previous cadastral maps and final cadastral maps were implemented. Through the open platform established in this study, anyone can easily utilize the cadastral resurvey results, and it is expected to utilize and share systematic cadastral resurvey results based on 3-dimensional information that reflects the actual business district. In addition, a continuous management plan was proposed by integrating the distributed results into one platform. It is expected that the usability of the 3D platform will be further improved if a platform is established for the whole country in the future and a service linked to the cadastral resurvey administrative system is established.

  • The sharing economy has emerged as a new form of consumption pattern along with the advancement of information technology and the changes in the consumers' desires for economic spending. In a C2C-sharing economy platform, the user side and supplier side share the same assets, thereby making both sides of the market closely related. However, an information asymmetry exists within the platform that makes the players from one side reluctant to participate. This information asymmetry warrants a strategic approach for solving the fundamental "chicken and egg" problem for platform development. Motivated by this phenomenon, this study aims to analyze how the participation intentions from both sides of the platform are influenced by certain anteceding factors, such as trust, perceived risk, and perceived economic profit. Our findings show that the anteceding factors affect the participation intentions in different paths for both sides of the platform. As a managerial implication, these findings highlight the necessity of employing different approaches for each side of market development.
