  • Computer virus is one of the most common information security problems in the information age. This study investigates the difference of users' perception of security elements between large companies and small-and-medium companies on the subject of computer virus. Based on t-test, no significant difference is found in users' perception on security threat and security risk While users satisfy with the level of security policy, there is a significant difference on the level of security policy recognition between the two sizes of companies. Moreover, there are significant differences on information assets, security vulnerability and security effectiveness, which implies difference in the users' perception on importance of assets, exposure to threats and computer virus prevention efforts between large and small-and-medium companies.

  • This study examined the relationship among perception on information, purpose of information use, and trust in government. It also identified different patterns of groups by their ideological inclination via a national survey on sample population over the age of twenty. The result showed the statistical significance of the relationship among information perception, purpose of information use, ideological inclination, and trust in government. The analysis result implies that the role of government should be readjusted in terms of publicness toward meta-data provider which is transparent and fair without any discrimination by individual difference and economic condition. This will increase the level of trust in government data and its utilization will be tied into the individual connectedness for social integration. The role of government as an information provider needs to establish the role of mediator which always keeps social rules and tracks down violators in a timely manner in the process of information production. With transparent information flow and fair game, the richness of information and a positive production environment will be created.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the perception of nutrition labeling on restaurant menus, and to analyze the differences among subject's characteristics, eating-out behaviors, and dietary attitudes. Information concerning general characteristics, health status, eating-out behaviors and dietary attitudes of subjects was collected by a structured questionnaire. From January 5th to February 27th in 2009, 406 questionnaires were completed by 157 males and 249 females. Statistical analyses were performed using by SPSS 14.0 package program. The perception of the importance of nutrition labeling was 3.89, while knowledge of whether restaurants provided sufficient nutrition information scored 2.26 indicating that being highly conscious of nutrition labeling, respondents did not view the supplied information as sufficient. Nutritional perception was greater in females and varied in both genders with age and health status. Significant differences concerning the perceptions of nutrition labeling were evident, based on eating-out behaviors and dietary attitudes. The results imply that nutrition labeling on restaurant menus should be based on consumer characteristics. Relevant nutrition labeling might help improve health by encouraging proper dietary habits and providing valuable nutritional information. Recognition of the importance of nutrition labeling and strategic implementation of labeling in menus would be prudent strategies for restaurant managers. • The objective of this study is to examine the media richness theory and the social information processing model by analyzing the effect of media experience on media perception and communication process. To accomplish this objective, a laboratory experiment was conducted. The independent variable was text medium experience and a face-to-face medium was added as a control group. The dependent variables were medium perception and communication process. Medium perception includes perceived richness, medium feeling, task satisfaction, and communication satisfaction. Communication processes were also analyzed to compare each treatment group. The results can be summarized into two facts. First, face-to-face group showed higher perceived richness than text medium group. And experienced text medium group perceived their text medium richer than inexperienced text medium group. Second, experienced text medium groups showed more interactions between subjects than inexperienced text medium group. Experienced text medium group also showed more agreements and meta-communication which could be found in face-to-face group. The result of this study supported media richness theory by finding that face-to-face medium was perceived richer than text medium, And the results also proved social information processing model by comparing experienced text medium group and inexperienced text medium group. The text medium, although thought to be the leanest one, could be perceived richer if users had lots of experience on it.

  • Korean professors and students majoring IS (information systems) were asked "How much knowledge and skills will be required for entry level IS practitioners?" The result shows that there are significant perception gaps between IS academics and IS practitioners and that the perception of IS academics is obsolete. The result implies that the obsolete perception of IS academics is one of the major causes that Korean IS practitioners are experiencing so severe knowledge and skill deficiency.

  • This study examines consumers' perception of agricultural products using nuclear power plants waste heat. This study surveyed 348 consumers and found that presenting information about safety of waste heat utilization increased appropriacy of waste heat; after providing the information, the percentage of respondents in favor of using waste heat increased 27.5% point from 38.3% to 65.8%. The most important reason against using waste heat was because it threatened the safety of agricultural products, and the most important reason for its support was to reduce farm production costs. The purchase intention for agricultural products using waste heat had risen by at least 10% point after providing the information about safety of waste heat. Those means that it important provision of accurate and reliable information on the safety of waste heat to encourage the utilization of waste heat from nuclear power plants. Purchase intention for flowers using waste heat was most, followed by vegetables, fruits (including fruits and vegetables).

  • In this study, the influences of environmentally friendly visual and auditory information on traffic noise perception were surveyed by the using electroencephalogram Green rural region image and CBD image in urban city were used as visual informations. And traffic noise, signal and environmental music were used to detect the impact on electroencephalogram variance. It was revealed that green rural region image caused a-wave ratio increase about 10% and environmental music increased $\alpha$-wave ratio approximately $40{\sim}50%$. The results of this study improved that environmentally friendly visual and auditory information had an effect on decreasing traffic noise loudness to some extents.
