Sharpness-aware Evaluation Methodology for Haze-removal Processing in Automotive Systems

  • This paper presents a new comparison method for haze-removal algorithms in next-generation automotive systems. Compared to previous peak signal-to-noise ratio-based comparisons, which measure similarity, the proposed modulation transfer function-based method checks sharpness to select a more suitable haze-removal algorithm for lane detection. Among the practical filtering schemes used for a haze-removal algorithm, experimental results show that Gaussian filtering effectively preserves the sharpness of road images, enhancing lane detection accuracy.

  • This study deals with the application of knowledge engineering and a methodology for the assessment and measurement of reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of industrial systems using fault-tree representation. A fuzzy methodology for fault-tree evaluation seems to be an alternative solution to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional approach (insufficient information concerning the relative frequence of hazard events). To improve the quality of results, the membership functions must be approximated based on heuristic considerations. The purpose of this study is to describe the knowledge engineering approach, directed to integrate the various sources of knowledge involved in a FTA.

  • 본 논문에서는 개발자에게 다목적의 대화형 교육용 게임 개발을 지원하는 DGBL(Digital Game-based Learning) 기반의 교육용 게임 설계 과정을 제시하였다. DGBL은 분석, 디자인, 개발, 품질 보증 및 구현 평가 이렇게 다섯 단계로 구성되는데, 본 논문에서는 DGBL 기반의 게임 설계 과정에 포함되는 분석과 디자인 단계에 대해서만 초점을 맞추어 세부 기술을 다루었다. 먼저 첫번째 단계인 게임 분석 과정에서는 요구사항 수집, 게임 아이디어 및 학습 목표를 설정하게 되고, 두번째 단계인 게임 디자인 과정에서는 게임 구조 정립과 데이터베이스 스키마를 정의하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 DGBL 기반의 교육용 게임의 분석과 디자인 단계에 대한 접근 사례 연구로서 신입생을 위한 강사 소개 게임을 예로 들어 그 분석 과정을 제시하고, 스토리보드 형태로 디자인한 결과를 제시하였다.

  • Todays, there is fast transition about the new manufacturing IT methodologies from the conceptual phase into the practical application phase for the strengthening of enterprise competitiveness in manufacturing industry. One of those new methodologies is PLM (Product Life-cycle Management). PLM methodology consists of 3D CAD for the product design, PDM (Product Data Management) for the data management based on the collaboration platform and lastly DM (Digital Manufacturing). DM has evoluted from the stand-alone computer simulation of early 1980s, and now it covers the overall production development and production. Unfortunately, there exist serious critical problems about the actual application of DM for the real work. This is owing to the transition of the point of view from stand-alone type application (such as flow simulation or robot simulation) to that of business process about product development and production management. In this paper, we propose an application framework for the successful project with the digital manufacturing methodology with the concept of Information Strategy Planning, which enables the systematic diagnosis and the quantitative evaluation. Also, we introduce the actual practice of the proposing framework with the ISP project for 'Analysis & Simulation Technique of manufacturing process project' that is being conducted by Chungnam Techno Park.

Novel Hierarchical Test Architecture for SOC Test Methodology Using IEEE Test Standards

  • SOC test methodology in ultra deep submicron (UDSM) technology with reasonable test time and cost has begun to satisfy high quality and reliability of the product. A novel hierarchical test architecture using IEEE standard 1149.1, 1149.7 and 1500 compliant facilities is proposed for the purpose of supporting flexible test environment to ensure SOC test methodology. Each embedded core in a system-on- a-chip (SOC) is controlled by test access ports (TAP) and TAP controller of IEEE standard 1149.1 as well as tested using IEEE standard 1500. An SOC device including TAPed cores is hierarchically organized by IEEE standard 1149.7 in wafer and chip level. As a result, it is possible to select/deselect all cores embedded in an SOC flexibly and reduce test cost dramatically using star scan topology.

  • 구조물의 손상예측정확도를 모델불확실성의 함수로 산정하는 방법론이 제시되었다. 먼저, 구조물의 손상발생위치과 크기를 결정할 수 있는 알고리즘의 요약되고 모델불확실성과 손상발견정확도를 측정하는 방법들이 제시되었다. 다음으로, 실존구조물의 손상발견정확도에 미치는 모델불확실성의 영향을 산정하는 방법론이 제시되었다. 마지막으로, 한개의 진동모드가 측정된 Plate-Girder교량을 사용하여 이같은 산정방법론의 적합성이 예증되었다.

  • A methodology to identify a baseline modal model of a complicated 3-D structure using limited structural and modal information is experimentally examined. In the first part, a system's identification theory for the methodology to identify, baseline modal responses of the structure is outlined. Next, an algorithm is designed to build a generic finite element model of the baseline structure and to calibrate the model by using only a set of post-damage modal parameters. In the second part, the feasibility of the methodology is examined experimentally using a field-tested truss bridge far which only post-damaged modal responses were measured for a few vibration modes. For the complex 3-D bridge with many members, we analyzed to identify unknown stiffness parameters of the structure by using modal parameters of the initial two modes of vibration.
