  • 색 재현 범위(Color Gamut)가 기존의 표준신호(예 sRGB, Rec. 709)대비 상이한 Laser 디스플레이 장치에서 Gamut Matching Algorithm을 이용하여 표준 컬러의 재현을 가능하게 하고, CRT 대비 광범위한 Laser Color Gamut 의 모든 색 영역을 표현 할 수 있다. 이 방법은 일정한 휘도 및 hue 에서 표준입력과 출력장치의 색 재현 범위에 따라 주어진 입력신호의 Chroma를 늘이거나, 줄임으로써 출력장치의 전 색 재현 범위를 사용할 수 있게 된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 항문 괄약근 전용 근전도 센서(Intra-Anal Sensor)를 항문내에 삽입한 후 운동을 하면 시스템 하드웨어와 연결된 80C196KC 마이크로 콘트롤러와 프로그램에 의해서 LED Display 및 스피커 출력을 통해 괄약근 근전도 신호의 크기를 나타내 주며, 컴퓨터와 직접 연결하면 PC상의 모니터 출력을 통해 보다 손쉽게 환자의 상태를 알아볼 수 있도록 Visual C 프로그램을 사용한 윈도우 프로그램을 구현하였다.

Three-dimensional image processing using integral imaging method (집적 영상법을 이용한 3차원 영상 정보 처리)

  • Integral imaging is one of the three-dimensional(3D) display methods, which is an autostereoscopic method. The integral imaging system can provide volumetric 3D image which has both vertical and horizontal parallaxes. The elemental image which is obtained in the pickup process by lens array has the 3D information of the object and can be used for the depth perception and the 3D correlation. Moreover, the elemental image which represents a cyber-space can be generated by computer process.

  • Among the methods of developing tourist spots and culture as the experience contents, it is a common method to display high-quality video images on a large display, and it is necessary to make a special difference between the participant's active participation and the visual experience in other regions. In this paper, using the single molecular OLED and active type, the regional tourist spots blend transparent OLED dual-layer display systems with the extended image implementation and augmented interaction techniques to give the participants a real-world experience, such as directing to new experiences and beautiful sights. In this paper, additional images and UI layers are applied to the layers of the images to allow visitors to experience sightseeing information, weather, maps, accommodations, festivals and photo materials with image. In addition to the dual-layer system, it also added a multi-display system that additionally has one vertical 55-inch display on each side, adding to the experience the immersive experience and interface interlocking fun. By using transparent OLED, dual layer panel and 3-channel Multi-image playback technique, the augmented type experience contents which can experience the local attractions in Jeollanamdo province in Korea at all time without any limitation of time and space were developed.

Exploring the Potential of Modifying Visual Stimuli in Virtual Reality to Reduce Hand Tremor in Micromanipulation Tasks

  • Involuntary hand tremor has been a serious challenge in micromanipulation tasks and thus draws a significant amount of attention from related fields. To minimize the effect of the hand tremor, a variety of mechanically assistive solutions have been proposed. However, approaches increasing human awareness of their own hand tremor have not been extensively studied. In this paper, a head mount display based virtual reality (VR) system to increase human self-awareness of hand tremor is proposed. It shows a user a virtual image of a handheld device with emphasized hand tremor information. Provided with this emphasized tremor information, we hypothesize that subjects will control their hand tremor more effectively. Two methods of emphasizing hand tremor information are demonstrated: (1) direct amplification of tremor and (2) magnification of virtual object, in comparison to the controlled condition without emphasized tremor information. A human-subject study with twelve trials was conducted, with four healthy participants who performed a task of holding a handheld gripper device in a specific direction. The results showed that the proposed methods achieved a reduced level of hand tremor compared with the control condition.

  • These days the use of personal computer has become generalized at factory, office, house, etc and this fact indicates that visual display terminal work became popular in every field of our society. The use of computer improves work efficiency, productivity & qualify but in addition, it also generated the physical and mental diseases or defects so called VDT syndrome to workers. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the computer-work-related anti-physical, anti-psychogenic symptoms & side effects through the data drawn from workers who use computers on their works, and to find out methods of improvement & humanization of computer works. The follows are the results of questions about personal sensibility of VDT syndrome. 1. Female workers are more sensitive to the side effects of computer labor than males. 2. Workers aged twenties feel more severe symptoms of VDT syndrome than thirties or fourties, but there are no level of significance. 3. Middle managements workers are the most sensitive group to VDT syndrome, on the other hand tow managements are less sensitive than operators. 4. The result of questions indicates that a phone conductress show more severe VDT syndrome symptoms than business affairs or an engineer workers, with level of significance. 5. The longer computer work engagement period, the more evident VDT syndrome symptoms appear. For instance, workers who have more than 2 year engagement period complain more severe symptoms, compared workers who have less than 2 year engagement period. 6. Long computer working time per day also increases VDT syndrome severity specially people who have more than 2 hours in working time in a day have much less severe symptoms, compared people whose daily working time exceeds 2 hours. 7. Specific body part which shows VDT syndrome symptoms is shoulder, wrist, neck, finger, eye, waist, arm in the order of severity. 8. Sensibility of VDT syndrome symptoms have effect on degree of vocational satisfaction.

A Study on the Interface and Luminescent Properties of OLED using $Al_2Nq_4$ as an Emitting Layer ($Al_2Nq_4$를 발광층으로 이용한 OLED의 계면 및 발광 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Metal-chelate derivatives have been investigated intensively as an emitting layer and recognize to have excellent electroluminescence(EL) properties. We synthesized new luminescent material, 1,4-dihydoxy-5,8-naphtaquinone $Aiq_3$ complex($Al_2Nq_4$) and investigated the electrical optical properties. OLED has potential candidates for information display with merits of thickness, low power and high efficiency. Although the OLED show a lot of advantages for information display, it has the limit of inorganic(metal)/ organic interface. In this study, the two methods are used to study the interface of metal/organic in OLED. First, we treated $O_2$ plasma on an ITO thin film by using RIE system, and analyzed the ingredient of ITO thin film according to change of the processing conditions. We used the RDS and the XPS for the ingredient analysis of the surface and bulk. We measured electrical resistivity using Four-Point-Probe and calculated sheet resistance, and ITO surface roughness was measured by using AFM. We fabricated OLED using substrate that was treated optimum ITO surface. Second, we used the buffer layer of CuPc to improve the characteristics of the interface and the hole injection in OLED. The result of the study for electrical and optical properties by using I V L T System(Flat Panel Display Analysis System), we confirmed that the electrical properties and the luminance properties were improved.

Mobile LCD Characterization using XYZ Electro-Optical Transfer Functions for RGBCMYK Components (RGBCMYK 성분의 XYZ 전광 변환 함수를 이용한 모바일 LCD의 특성화)

  • Most display characterization methods, such as the gain-offset-gamma (GOG) model and S-curve model, generally assume that displays have two fundamental characteristics, channel -chromaticity-constancy and channel-independence. However, these assumptions are not so applicable in the case of liquid crystal (LC)-based mobile displays. Accordingly, modifications are required to enable the application of conventional display characterization methods to mobile displays. Therefore, this study proposes the modeling of distinct EOTFs in terms of the X, Y, and Z values for each channel to consider the differences among the EOTFs resulting from channel-chromaticity-inconstancy. In addition, to overcome the poor additivity property among the channels due to channel-interaction, the proposed method also models and uses the EOTFs of the X, Y, and Z values for the inter-channel components cyan, magenta, yellow, and gray Experimental results confirm that the mobile display color values predicted by the proposed characterization method are more accurate than those predicted by other characterization methods due to considering the channel-chromaticity-inconstancy and/or channel-dependence of the display.

Isolation of Human scFv Antibodies Specific for House Dust Mite Antigens from an Asthma Patient by Using a Phage Display Library

  • Background: In order to characterize human antibodies with specificity for mite allergens at the molecular level, a scFv phage display library was constructed using peripheral blood mononuclear lymphocytes from an asthma patient allergic to mite as Ig gene sources. Methods: Immunoglobulin $V_H$ and V gene fragments were obtained by polymerase chain reaction, and randomly combined in pCANTAB-5E vector. The resulting human scFv phage display library had $3{\times}10^4$ independent clones, and biopanning was performed with house dust mite extracts. Results: Four scFv clones specific for house dust mite extract were isolated. Immunoblot assay showed that our clones reacted to 25 kDa and 50~60 kDa proteins with unknown identity in mite extracts. Sequence analysis indicated that two clones (b7 and c15) are identical, and all clones belong to human $V_H3$ subgroup. On the other hand, light chain usage was different in that two clones (a2 and b7 / c15) belonging to V ${\kappa}4$ subgroup, but a4 used V ${\kappa}1$ light chain gene. Conclusion: Our approach should facilitate provision of useful information on the antibody responses against allergens at the molecular level in humans.

Synthesizing Intermediate Images Using Stereoscopic Images

  • In this paper, we present an algorithm for synthesizing intermediate views from a stereoscopic pair of images. Syntheses of intermediate images allows one to realize a more comfortable the 3D display system. The proposed method is based on block matching, which is not ordinarily used. The contour information is used for a block decision. In order to find an equivalent (or corresponding) block, there are two steps: "matching of contour-to-original image" and "matching of contour-to-contour image" methods. "Matching of contour-to-contour image" uses both left and right contour images. This block matching method allows us to find the corresponding block in spite of different block sizes. Experimental results illustrate the performance of the proposed technique and we obtained a high quality image of more than 31 dB PSNR.image of more than 31 dB PSNR.
