Tunnelling in poor and heterogeneous ground is a difficult task. Even with a good geological investigation, uncertainties with respect to the local rock mass structure will remain. Especially for such conditions, a reliable short-term prediction of the conditions ahead and outside the tunnel profile are of paramount importance for the choice of appropriate excavation and support methods. The information contained in the absolute displacement monitoring data allows a comprehensive evaluation of the displacements and the determination of the behaviour and influence of an anisotropic rock mass. Case histories and with numerical simulations show, that changes in the displacement vector orientation can indicate changing rock mass conditions ahead of the tunnel face (Schubert & Budil 1995, Steindorfer & Schubert 1997). Further research has been conducted to quantify the influence of weak zones on stresses and displacements (Grossauer 2001). Sellner (2000) developed software, which allows predicting displacements (GeoFit$\circledR$). The function parameters describe the time and advance dependent deformation of a tunnel. Routinely applying this method at each measuring section allows determining trends of those parameters. It shows, that the trends of parameter sets indicate changes in the stiffness of the rock mass outside the tunnel in a similar way, as the displacement vector orientation does. Three-dimensional Finite Element simulations of different weakness zone properties, thicknesses, and orientations relative to the tunnel axis were carried out and the function parameters evaluated from the results. The results are compared to monitoring results from alpine tunnels in heterogeneous rock. The good qualitative correlation between trends observed on site and numerical results gives hope that by a routine determination of the function parameters during excavation the prediction of rock mass conditions ahead of the tunnel face can be improved. Implementing the rules developed from experience and simulations into the monitoring data evaluation program allows to automatically issuing information on the expected rock mass quality ahead of the tunnel.
Most of the data sets to which the conventional discriminant rules have been applied contain only those which belong to one and only one class among the classes of interest. However the extension of the bivalence to multivlaence like Fuzzy concepts strongly influence the traditional view that an object must belong to only class. Thus the goal of this paper is to develop new discriminant rules which can handle the data each object of which may belong to moer than two classes with certain degrees of belongings. A calibration model is used for the relationship between the feature vector of an object and the degree of belongings and a Bayesian inference is made with the Metropolis algorithm on the degree of belongings when a feature vector of an object whose membership is unknown is given. An evalution criterion is suggested for the rules developed in this paper and comparision study is carried using two training data sets.
Recently, the influence of electromagnetic environment for low frequency range on human body has been being argued. Light Rail Transit (LRT) System is an urban transit system which has approximately an intermediate transportation capacity between conventional subway and bus. The LRT systems have been applied and being operated in about a hundred lines around the world and many projects that apply the LRT systems in Korea are being proceeded and scheduled. LRT system is operated under the electrical circumstance of high voltage and large current and passengers are exposed in those electrical circumstance. In this paper, EMI/EMC for low frequency range of K-AGT system is measured and analyzed comparing with the international standard.
This paper analyzed the magnetic field produced by the cylindrical stator coils of permanent magnet spherical motor (PMSM). The elliptic equations about the vector magnetic potential were given. Given that the eddy current effects are neglected, the magnet field of the PMSM is regarded as irrotational field, which can be calculated by scalar magnetic potential. The current density of cylindrical stator coil was proposed based on the definition of current density. The expression of current density of stator coil was obtained according to the double Fourier series decomposition and spherical harmonic functions. Then the magnetic flux density for scalar magnetic potential was derived. Further, the influence of different parameters on radial flux density was also analyzed. Finally, the results by the analytical method in this paper were validated by finite element analysis (FEA).
In general, a stock index and its individual stocks are assumed to follow a random walk. A stock index is an important source of information and one that is seen by people everyday, regardless of their investment intentions. This paper examines the correlation between the KOSPI-the index that best reflects the Korean stock market and the macro - economic variables that have been found to influence the index by previous studies. The sample period considers the years after 2000 when the Korean stock market matured as restrictions on foreign investors were removed. For this purpose, a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) and KOSPI equation with a general pacific approach were used. This paper aims at verifying the factors that determined the KOSPI after 2000 and at examining whether there was structural change in the investment environment. It also investigates changes in the factors determining the KOSPI's performance as a result of structural changes in the investment environment. The V AR (Vector Autoregressive) model including the nine variables was selected as a baseline model whose stability was tested using the unit root test. The results from the VECM and the structural changes in the investment environment can be summarized by the following Inner story points.
This study aimed to analyze the causality of hairtail prices among import and domestic distribution channels using a Vector Error Correction Model(VECM). The results are as follows. First, since the ADF unit-root test suggests that each of the price variables, apart from retail price, has a unit root, the price variables should be 1st-differenced to secure the stability of the prices. Next, through the Johansen co-integration test, it was discovered that there are long-term relationships among the price variables. On the basis of the co-integration test, VECM analysis shows that the producer price has a long-run balance with the import and wholesale prices. In particular, when the prices deviate from the balance, the producer price dynamically adjusts to return to the long-term relationship among prices. It also indicates that the producer price has an impact on the import, wholesale, and retail prices in the short-term, and the import price has an influence on the producer and wholesale prices. In addition, the impulse response analysis demonstrates that the impulse of import and producer prices has a lasting impact on each of the prices.
In this paper, we analyze the time delayed effect of speech feature. Here, the time delayed effect means that the current feature vector of speech is under the influence of the previous feature vectors. In this paper, we use a set of LPC driven cepstal coefficients and evaluate the time delayed effect of cepstrum with the performance of the speech recognition system. For the experiments, we used the speech database consisting of 22 words which uttered by 50 male speakers. The speech database uttered by 25 male speakers was used for training, and the other set was used for testing. The experimental results show that the time delayed effect is large in the lower orders of feature vector but small in the higher orders.

This study configuration Vector Control System which is stable and has outstanding Dynamic Characteristics in Very Low Speed Region and Low Speed Region, and proposes Instantaneous Speed Observer and Very Low Speed Control method using Reduced-Dimensional State Observer. The Observer proposed in this system, by appling Reduced-Dimensional State Observer to Load-Torque estimation and using for speed estimation, implements system composition simply and is capable of accurate Instantaneous Speed estimation in Very Low Speed Region. Also, this study reduces influence by System Noise and suggests an induction motor speed control system which is effective in Load Disturbance, modeling error, estimation noise and so on without changing pole of an Observer.
In this paper, a dynamic response mapping model of the wheel-rail system is established by using the support vector regression (SVR) method, and the hierarchical safety thresholds of the subgrade void are proposed based on the reliability theory. Firstly, the vehicle-track coupling dynamic model considering the subgrade void is constructed. Secondly, the subgrade void area, the subgrade compaction index K30 and the fastener stiffness are selected as random variables, and the mapping model between these three random parameters and the dynamic response of the wheel-rail system is built by using the orthogonal test and the SVR. The sensitivity analysis is carried out by the range analysis method. Finally, the hierarchical safety thresholds for the subgrade void are proposed. The results show that the subgrade void has the most significant influence on the carbody vertical acceleration, the rail vertical displacement, the vertical displacement and the slab tensile stress. From the range analysis, the subgrade void area has the largest effect on the dynamic response of the wheel-rail system, followed by the fastener stiffness and the subgrade compaction index K30. The recommended safety thresholds for the subgrade void of level I, II and III are 4.01㎡, 6.81㎡ and 9.79㎡, respectively.
This study investigated and predicted the Marshall stability of glass-fiber asphalt mix, carbon-fiber asphalt mix and glass-carbon-fiber asphalt (hybrid) mix by using machine learning techniques such as Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Random Forest(RF), The data was obtained from the experiments and the research articles. Assessment of results indicated that performance of the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based model outperformed applied models in training and testing datasets with values of indices as; coefficient of correlation (CC) 0.8492 and 0.8234, mean absolute error (MAE) 2.0999 and 2.5408, root mean squared error (RMSE) 2.8541 and 3.3165, relative absolute error (RAE) 48.16% and 54.05%, relative squared error (RRSE) 53.14% and 57.39%, Willmott's index (WI) 0.7490 and 0.7011, Scattering index (SI) 0.4134 and 0.3702 and BIAS 0.3020 and 0.4300 for both training and testing stages respectively. The Taylor diagram also confirms that the ANN-based model outperforms the other models. Results of sensitivity analysis show that Carbon fiber has a major influence in predicting the Marshall stability. However, the carbon fiber (CF) followed by glass-carbon fiber (50GF:50CF) and the optimal combination CF + (50GF:50CF) are found to be most sensitive in predicting the Marshall stability of fibrous asphalt concrete.
