  • Cruise industry is a continually growing high value industry despite of economic recession. As Chinese cruise tourists increase, the cruise industry in Northeast Asia has been attracting attention. Korean ports have constructed cruise terminals with vision of becoming a cruise home port. Asian leading cruise country, Singapore has cruise industry strategy linked with Singaporean tourism strategy. Based on the Singaporean cruise industry, several strategies for Korean cruise industry development are suggested. Analyzing the economic effect of cruise home port and call-port and Korean cruise industry environment shows that Busan port is fit for home port, Incheon port is fit for sub home port, and Jeju port is fit for call-port. Korean cruise ports are playing a role in call-port in Northeast Asia cruise market, an introduction of Korean cruise company and home port by the company are needed to develop the Korean cruise industry.

  • Maritime transportation circumstance is changing rapidly in accordance with the increase of cargo volume between countries and increase of marine leisure activities by improvement of quality of life. And the circumstance for ship operation is also changing due to aging of seafarers and increasing of foreign seafarers. To cope with such changes in maritime environment well, it requires higher safety management skills from shipping companies, the main subject in charge of the safety matter. In this paper, we analyzed domestic and foreign similar system, and then applied imitation strategies for introduction of an unific evaluation and management system that was consist of marine accidents, port state control, ISM Code and so on from shipping companies. We defined that the imitation industry and system are converted accident ration of construction industry and traffic safety excellence company of road transportation, and then extracted relevant law, evaluation index, incentive system as a imitation subject. We also proposed scheme that introduction of basis law, and evaluation tool with marine accidents ratio, port state control & ism code result, and incentives such as immunity of safety inspection or reduction of commission for introduction of company's safety management level evaluation system. Finally, we proposed the imitation timing and plan in stages for system's sustainable development through the prompt introduction and continuous enforcement.

  • Demands in a sustainable coffee certification program have increased steadily in the global coffee market. Along with this trend, recently the introduction of sustainable coffee certification programs in Vietnam has increased significantly. However, Vietnam's the coffee certification programs led by a single state-owned company, which is called Vinacafe, shows some differentiations from other sustainable coffee programs certified in other countries. The structure of exclusive decision-making in Vinacafe has been interfered with economic impacts in accordance with the introduction of sustainable coffee certification programs in Vietnam. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to identify changes in and limits of the value chain of the coffee industry with the introduction of Vietnam's sustainable coffee certification program by investigating the case of Vinacafe. To this end, the research has attempted 1) to concern with the role of Vinacafe in the process of growth in the coffee industry in central highland of Vietnam, 2) to analyze changes stemmed from the introduction of Vinacafe's sustainable coffee certification programs, and 3) to examine the limits to the introduction of sustainable coffee certification programs in Vietnam. As a result, it found out that Vinacafe subsidiaries shifted the losses resulted in the payment of additional environmental costs to produce sustainable certification coffee onto coffee farmers depended on Vinacafe subsidiaries, because the price of premium emerged from supports for certificated coffee production has not been guaranteed by Vinacafe mother firm.

  • A series of benzamide-based histone deacetylases (HDACs) inhibitors possessing N-(aminopyridine) residue as the zinc binding site of HDAC were synthesized and evaluated. Among these derivatives, compounds with N-(2-amino-4-pyridine) benzamide moiety have been found as the most potent ones. Moreover, introduction of appropriate substituents on the terminal aryl group acting as the surface-recognition domain could significantly improve the antiproliferative activity. In particular, the compound 4k possessed favorable pharmacokinetic characteristics and exhibited potent antitumor activity on xenograft model in mice at well tolerated doses, thus suggesting a good therapeutic index.

  • An expert system is a system that employs human knowledge captured in a computer to solve problem that ordinarily require human expertise. Well-designed expert systems imitate the reasoning processes experts use to solve specific problem. Specially, expert systems are used to the engineer in manufacturing industry for the process control, production management and system management. In this paper, we propose the design process expert system for product design process in manufacturing industry and we present introduction and contents of design process expert system methodology and software for the air purifier design system. This system will be helpful to improvement of design process for the air purifier production.

  • As the environments of world economy have been changed so rapidly, the conditions of marketing and distribution also have been altered. In korea distribution industry has been changed according to the introduction of various patterns of distribution and marketing. Among them the emerging of network marketing, same meaning with multi-level marketing in this research, is a important phenomenon of distribution industry in Korea. Not only it contributes the progress of national economy, especially distribution industry, but also it includes some limitations and criticism from the dissenters. In this paper, the clear definitions and characteristics of network marketing are suggested. And the current situations of network marketing in this country has been analyzed and compared, The future perspectives and problems of this network marketing have been diagnosed and classified for the future development and contribution for national economy. The various alternatives for the future development of network marketing have been studied and suggested in terms of each role of this industry such as distributers, consumers and government. Though this paper has a small contribution, it contains many limitations for research. Therefore it suggest future directions for further research.

  • Purpose: Since the cost of feed for Korean pig farmers has been increasing, attracting crowdfunding for the swine industry become important. This paper applies the AHP decision-making method to build a model for the sustainable growth of crowdfunding in the swine industry. Design/methodology/approch: The result from the analysis of data collected from this research shows that both investors and borrows groups consider tangible assets to be most important for crowdfunding in the swine industry. Findings: Thus protection of investors should be resolved first by providing collateral rather than insisting on the conventional crowdfunding method that stresses the credit aspects only. The investors and borrows groups also judged the loan amount very important, suggesting that the smooth and sufficient investment should be secured for borrows group.

  • The logistics cost in Korea is very higher than that of the other countries. Thus, we propose to the way to reduce company's logistics cost in the paper industry. Each company in the paper industry is having its particular sized pallets and using them to manufactured products, store, deliver, retrieve empty pallet and so on. In this reason, the logistics cost is still increasing. As the common introduction of Pallet Pool System to "Paper Industry", the logistics cost could be reduced up to 24% and 1.8 billion won saved approximately, and it possibly attributes to the increase of company profit and the strength of the company competitiveness.itiveness.

  • Kaolin has long been used in aqueous coatings to produce high-quality coated paper products. While the kaolin industry hat always focused on innovation. the rate of new product introduction hat never been greater than in the past five-to-eight years due to the cost, quality and other competitive pressure facing papermakers. After summarizing many of the performance benefits offered by the new generation of kaolin-baled pigments. this paper reviews four specific pigment advances: a high-performance. ultrafine glossing pigment; an engineered pigment with a narrow particle size distribution; two products from a kaolin-based pigment family developed for metered size presses ; and a novel class of inkjet pigments.
