  • Accident analyses are used to identify common factors contributing to occupational accidents and to give recommendations for accident prevention. This study concerns with the accident characteristics and safety management in the small manufacturing industry. To investigate the accident characteristics, we used workers' compensation reports and employers' accident analysis reports. Two hundred and thirty injury accidents which results in more than 4 days absence were surveyed from the manufacturing companies with under 100 employees. The actual safety problems experienced today in the small manufacturing were also examined by interview method with safety engineers. We propose the safety management programs based on the accident characteristics and the actual safety problems. These results can be used to develop more effective occupational safety and health management policies in the small manufacturing industry.

  • This study aimed to analyze the effect of demographic characteristics of consumers and quality recognition factors on purchase intention of organic wine, and to provide preliminary data necessary for the development of wine industry. By factor analysis of collected surveys, quality recognition factors of both the experienced and non-experienced group of organic wine environment/health, varieties of grapes, price, and four brand elements. First, among demographic characteristics, only income level hae a significant influence on the changes in quality recognition causes. Each of quality recognition causes of organic wine had a significant relation with purchase intent. The result of our analysis suggested that 'environment/health' was most influential for the experienced group, and 'health' was most influential for the non-experienced group. Therefore, this hypothesis is supported.

  • Coal briquette manufacturers once served as major fuel suppliers for households. For the coal briquette industry, transportation accounts for a considerable portion of the total manufacturing cost as briquettes are heavy in weight but low in value-addition. Moreover, they were put under strict control by the government for the characteristics of the briquettes as public goods. This study intends to identify the factors of and the types of the location of coal briquette manufacturing industry. In particular, the focus of the study is the briquette manufacturers in Seoul. Moreover, this study aims to identify how government policy influenced the location of the industry. The coal briquette manufacturing industry in the example regions were oriented toward the market and trans-shipment points. Simultaneously, the industry underwent spatial changes due to the spatial policy. While derived spatial policies were significant factors for growth of coal briquette industry, explicit spatial policies only modified or facilitated some of the location features resulting from the characteristics of the industry.

  • Despite the government's efforts, the jobs in SW industry are not easily created and only many problems of unemployment have been pointed out, failing to solve the basic problem. Sustainable decent jobs were recognized as a national task. Emotional connection between things and people is the SW industry, which is a core industry of the 4th industrial revolution. In order to be globally competitive, SW job creation, manpower planning for generating core human resources and highly educated manpower is a necessary issue. Basic estimation of job creation using the Input Output Table by Bank of Korea has some limitations and did not consider the SW industry characteristics. This study proposes an assessment model of SW policies and the practices a case of assessment of 113 projects supported by the Korean government. We propose a flowchart that can divide the government budgets according to the portion of the direct investment for SW industry by introducing investment types. We use an adjusted Input Output Table for SW industry and the model also considers the effect of SW promotions and regulations effects. This model can be used practically and flexibly by adjusting the SW fusion areas portions. It also considers the characteristics of the project, supporting areas, project size, short-term and long-term types. 113 projects of 'MSIT', 'SMBA' and 'NIPA' were analyzed and classified into 'policy' and 'business' to reflect SW job creation effect model considering domestic SW characteristics. By analyzing the practical data, 47,254 jobs are expected to be created within five years in optimistic cases and 27,211 jobs would be created in pessimistic cases.

  • In recent years, the specialized construction industry has undergone major construction and major industries, and without considering the technical expertise of construction works, the construction industry is promoting the integration and establishment of specialized construction industries according to convenience and abolition of their own industries. As the reorganization plan causes confusion in the production structure and lacks persuasive power by aiming only for industry simplification, it is judged to be desirable to review it according to the detailed characteristics of the specialized construction industry. In this study, -to review the reorganization of a rational classification system that considers the specific nature of the specialization of specialized construction projects, the classification of construction works, major work contents and characteristics, technical expertise, and problems of largescale industry in the case of painting construction and landscaping construction was analyzed. Based on this, aspects to be considered when reorganizing the current professional construction industry classification system are identified and reasonable improvement plans for each industry are suggested.

  • The study empirically analyzed the differences in industry distribution and innovation activity performance in the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas of Korea's bio companies, which are highlighted as future growth engines. The main innovation activities of the bio industry, which are focused on science and technology and expressed with high uncertainty, were analyzed, centering on human resources, technology cooperation, and investment promotion. As a result of the analysis, the biomedical industry in the metropolitan area was found to have a high proportion, and bio foods, bio-based chemicals, and energy industries in the non-metropolitan area, respectively. Moreover, the innovation activity performances differed between the two regions. In particular, the notable characteristics included human resources, investment promotion, and technical cooperation with medical institutions in the metropolitan area with a high proportion of biomedical industries, and technology personnel exchange and cooperation with private research institutions in the non-metropolitan area, which has a high proportion of bio foods, bio-based chemicals, and energy industries. This study is significant in that it is the first study to compare and analyze the performance of innovative activities based on the distribution of industries in the bio-industry, focusing on human resources, technology cooperation, and investment promotion. In addition, after investigating the distribution status and competitiveness of the domestic bio-industry by region, it will analyze the status and characteristics of the domestic bio-industry and present policy implications to implement relevant promotion policy more efficiently.

To explore differences based on individual characteristics, this study measured such characteristics using entrepreneurial orientation as well as the artistic and entrepreneurial competencies important in running a hanbok brand and analyzed the relationship demand for education and public support. Hanbok brand worker characteristics were classified into four groups based on individual characteristics: "traditionalist," "entrepreneur," "opportunist," and "businessman." Differences existed in terms of detailed education experience and demand as well as demand for public support, depending on the group. • Currently, the delayed compensation system, which does not reflect the R&D characteristics of the defense industry, is being applied, causing problems such as worsening management of defense companies and delayed power generation. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the development of the defense industry and the efficient promotion of combat capability by studying the improvement plan of the delayed compensation system reflecting the R&D characteristics of the defense industry. The research analyzed the defense industry R&D characteristics, national R&D, delayed compensation rate, reduction and exemption procedures and existing studies. Further, the Delphi technique was applied based on the status of the delayed compensation and the analysis of the cause of delay. It has been studied that it is not appropriate to apply the 'manufacturing and purchasing' standard of commercial products to defense industry R&D where the latest technology is applied and the success is unclear. Four measures were drawn to prevent delays, including the selection of excellent technology companies, and three measures to reduce delay compensation and apply differentials for rational treatment in case of delays. Just as the defense industry R&D is carried out under the Defense Acquisition Program Act due to the nature of the R&D industry, the defense industry will develop if the delayed compensation system is improved to reflect the R&D characteristics of the defense industry, and it will contribute to the acquisition of an efficient and economic weapons system.
