The purpose of this study is to effectively implement the artificial intelligence education required in the digital transformation era. As we enter the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the demand for a great digital transformation in industry is essential, and the nurturing of manpower is presented as an indispensable relationship in the industrial field based on it. The integration of various new technologies that have emerged from the era of the 4th industrial revolution has the greatest purpose in realizing artificial intelligence technology. As the importance of digital competency in the top curriculum reorganization has been highlighted, artificial intelligence education is necessary even in the curriculum reorganization in 2022, and there is a demand in the educational field that it should be converted into a mandatory education in middle and high schools. Artificial intelligence education according to the demands of the times is to develop an artificial intelligence curriculum in universities by reestablishing systematic artificial intelligence education in universities, setting educational goals, and presenting the goals of artificial intelligence education by major. The main direction of this study is to present the relationship between artificial intelligence and each major in university education, develop a curriculum based on artificial intelligence for each major, and link artificial intelligence software for AI education customized for each major. We would like to present a process that can measure the learning outcomes of AI education.
The main purpose of this research is to find out whether curriculums of industrial engineering (IE) departments meet the demand of IE graduates working in various fields. The research was conducted as an online questionnaire survey selecting IE Graduates working in industries as practising engineers. 1,324 participants were validated among 1,477 participants. 13 fields were selected and used in the survey. Those were; 1) Mathematical statistics, 2) Computer, 3) Purchase, 4) Production system, 5) Logistics, 6) Marketing, 7) Monetary, 8) Experiment methods, 9) Operations Research (OR), 10) Human Factors, 11) Quality, 12) Engineering management, and 13) Information systems. Using the 5-scale Likert rating, each education subject was assessed both in terms of its usefulness in practices and the amount it being taught in school. As a result, courses such as motion/time study, linear programming that IE has traditionally focused showed less usefulness in practices while it is taught in relatively large amount in schools. However, courses such as 6 sigma, CRM which are closely related to industrial practices showed high usefulness in practices compared with low degree of teaching in school. This was the first ever large scalesurvey conducted for IE graduates in Korea. The result of survey displayed many helpful information on current status and future direction of IE education in Korea.
A pendulum of industrial education begins to shift from one based on industrialized society to one on information-based age. To produce an effective result in this situation, It is necessary that an accurate estimate of a change in the circumstances of industrial high schools of Gyeonggi-do. This study researched the province's characteristics and countermeasures on industrial education adjusting the change of industrial environments by regional groups and suggested the solutions as follows. First, This study classified Gyeonggi-do into 9 regions considering the region's respective industrial structure and suggested the structure adjustment plan. Second, This study suggested '3-type curriculum management plan' based on the structure adjustment plan of industrial high schools. It includes employment-centered curriculum which provides the human resources required by industrial community, foundation-centered curriculum which revitalizes starting up a enterprises and clears up the manpower problems, college preparation-centered curriculum which meets the need of the students who are much interested in going to the next stage of education. Third, this study suggested a solution to a problem of surplus industry teacher. It includes 3 methods: Increasing practical training from 2 ours to 3 hours, assigning teachers for a task of academic-industrial collaboration and career counseling, qualifying industrial teachers for another course by minor. An amicable settlement on these matters requires a systematic administrative and financial support based on closely connected governmental-academic-industrial collaboration.
The industrial health education is the most fundamental and active area in the industrial health. In the 4th industrial revolution, the maker movement is spreading around the world with the fusion of advanced technology with product manufacturing. Already in developed countries such as the US and Japan, the emphasis is on maker education that integrates education into traditional makers' movement. Through this, we are fostering young talents who will lead the fourth industrial revolution era. Domestic maker education is mainly performed in the maker space, and is limited to the IT field using Arduino and App-Inventor. Therefore, it has the limitation of fostering IT-oriented makers. Therefore, it is affecting the proliferation of the maker's movement because of the difficulty of participation of the general public. The purpose of this study was to understand the characteristics of maker 's movement and to suggest the direction of Korean maker education. In order to accomplish the purpose of research, we analyzed the case of convergent maker education at D Creation Economic Innovation Center, which combines IT and culture technology. We conducted a case study on maker education(VR production project, electronic publishing, beads craft, leather craft, IoT) which was held from July 8 to August 30, 2017 five times. We conducted interviews with five preliminary makers who participated in all the courses of the education, and five instructors who acted as professional makers with pre- developed questionnaires. The results of the study were derived by applying the Thematic Analysis method after opening the contents of the interview. Based on the results of the study, we could suggest characteristics of Korean makers and future direction of maker education.
On the basis of total page, the coverage rate of education of safety and health in textbooks of elementary school was approximately 10%. In middle school, the contents of safety education were addressed mainly in subject of chemistry below about 5% of coverage rate whereas the contents of health education appeared mainly in subject of athletics below about 15% of coverage rate. Similarly, the contents of safety education and health education in textbooks of high school were indicated mainly in the subjects of chemistry and athletics, showing below about 5% and 30% of coverage rate, respectively. In conclusion, the education level of safety and health in textbooks was generally lower compared to other contents. The coverage rate of safety education was relatively lower than health education, which implicates that extensive contents related to safety education are needed to be added to textbooks in order to establish preliminary attitude for preventing workplace accident.
The present study examines the connections and effects of these historical events on South Korea's education system. The research seeks to illuminate private education's complex history and the complex factors that have shaped it by examining these historical trajectories. After the Korean War in the mid-20th century, South Korea went from agrarian to industrial, which shaped private education. Unparalleled economic growth in the 1960s and 1980s altered schooling. South Korea quickly became an industrial powerhouse, and education became crucial for families seeking socioeconomic advancement. The growing middle class, believing education was the key to prosperity, demanded more extra education. South Korean private education's fourth major event occurred during the socioeconomic upheavals of the 1960s-1980s. Prior studies explain how the fast transition from agrarian to industrial society made schooling essential for families seeking upward mobility. Due to the demand for extra education, private tutoring and specialist hagwons flourished. In summary, this study insists that the effects of historical events on South Korean private education demonstrate the interconnection of cultural, economic, and sociological aspects. Educational practitioners must comprehend the historical backdrop, recognize the lasting impact of past events, and use literature-based tools to navigate this complex landscape.
