This paper is prepaped, based upon its foundation of the design, first studying the rotor impedance of single and double layer cylindrical induction motor with solid iron rotor, and then inducing torque equation, from it. Classified were some design factors for this design from the result for above and there carried out the evidence of these design and theory after making experimental motors with solid iron rotors and examining torque characteristics.
It is important to evaluate the voltage characteristics of diesel generator as an emergency power supply in nuclear power plant. On loss of offsite power sources, emergency safeguard loads required to safely shutdown the reactor should be supplied by diesel generator. This paper presents the dynamic stability program to evaluate diesel generator performance as an emergency power system. The results Indicate the diesel generator ability to start the motors successfully seems to life in its impedances and inertias.

This paper introduces the performance test of the prototype vehicle, which will be in operation for Urban Maglev Program. While common trains with steel wheels use rotary induction motors for propulsion, maglev trains gain thrust force from linear induction motors maintaining the constant airgap with levitation electromagnets. Therefore, not only the behavior of the linear induction motor should be well understood, but also the way of propulsion that minimizes its effect on the levitation system should be took into account. Performance test procedures of maglev trains are proposed and carried out, and the characteristics of acceleration and deceleration are verified to agree with the design criteria. Tests are mainly performed on the linear section of the test line, and the driving characteristics on the section with a 6‰ incline are examined additionally. As a result, the performance of the prototype vehicle in the reverse operation can satisfy the requirement about the acceleration and deceleration, 4.0$m/s^2$. And, the design modifications of the commercial vehicle and the performance specifications required on the demonstration line are investigated.

This paper presents a new speed sensorless vector control scheme of Spindle Induction Motors(SIM) which can be successfully applied to at any speed including even zero speed. The proposed sensorless vector control of SIM uses rotor flux estimator with a variable bandwidth. This approach is based on the Closed-Loop Rotor Flux Observer(CLRFO) which includes a variable bandwidth of the PI controller. For low speed operation, the bandwidth of CLRFO has a variable bandwidth structure according to the estimated rotor velocity. The experimental results show the satisfactory operation of the proposed sensorless algorithm.

We propose a nonlinear feedback controller that can control the induction motors with high dynamic performance and high power efficiency by means of decoupling of motor speed and rotor flux. The nonlinear feedback controller needs the information on some motor parameters. New recursive adaptation algorithms for rotor resistance and mutual inductance which can be applied to our nonlinear feedback controller are also presented in this paper. The recursive adaptation algorithms make the estimated values of rotor resistance and mutual inductance track their real values. Some simulation and experimental results show that the adaptation algorithms are robust against the variation of stator resistance and stator inductance.
This paper suggests on-load torque measurement for 3 phase induction motors by input -voltage and current utilizing symmetric coordinate analysis technique on the basis of the induction motor equivalent circuit. In this paper, two cases are treated with, i.e, one is the case where the motors' exciting current and primary leakage impedance voltage drop are compensated automatically, adopting the ideal wattmeter whose current coil impedance and voltage coil impedance are 0 and .inf. respectively, and the other is the case where non-ideal wattmeter is adopted and the compensation above is made by computation. As a result of the case study, following conclusions are obtained. 1) By proper combination of the error propagation law and the limit of power consumption, the desirable overall measurement error of the apparatus can be obtained on the basis of the inherent errors of CT and PT. 2) The measurement error is larger in current simulation circuit than in voltage simulation circuit. 3) Between the two cases, the latter is more advantageous than the former from the viewpoint of feasibility and the measurement error. 4) As the attachment of Ammeter in the current simulation circuit influences the measurement error considerably, its internal impedance should be large considerably. 5) The larger the consumption power of the apparatus is, the easier the feasibility is.
This paper proposes a new anti-slip re-adhesion control system fur electric railway vehicle driven by inverter-fed induction motors. This paper introduces an instantaneous tangential farce coefficient estimator between driving wheel and rail, which is based on disturbance observer. The torque command of proposed system regulates to exceed this estimated tangential farce coefficient in order to avoid undesirable slip phenomenon of driving wheels. We have already proposed the anti-slip re-adhesion control system based on disturbance observer for simplified one wheel equivalent model successfully. This paper extend to this system to the actual bogie system, which has four driving wheels driven by two induction motors fed by one inverter. In order to apply anti-slip re-adhesion control to the actual bogie system a new anti-slip re-adhesion control based on both disturbance observer and speed sensor-less vector control of induction motor with quick response are combined. The experimental results and the numerical simulation results prove the validity of the proposed control system.
The diagnosis of motor failures using an on-line method has been the aim of many researchers and studies. Several spectral analysis techniques have been developed and are used to facilitate on-line diagnosis methods in industry. This paper discusses the first application of a motor flux spectral analysis to the identification of broken rotor bar (BRB) faults in induction motors using a multiple signal classification (MUSIC) technique as an on-line diagnosis method. The proposed method measures the leakage flux in the radial direction using a radial flux sensor which is designed as a search coil and is installed between stator slots. The MUSIC technique, which requires fewer number of data samples and has a higher detection accuracy than the traditional fast Fourier transform (FFT) method, then calculates the motor load condition and extracts any abnormal signals related to motor failures in order to identify BRB faults. Experimental results clearly demonstrate that the proposed method is a promising candidate for an on-line diagnosis method to detect motor failures.

In this paper, a portable rotor bar fault diagnosis system for small 3 phase induction motors is suggested. For portable real-tine diagnosis system, an USB-DAQ board for collecting the 3 phase current data, three current probes, and a notebook computer are used. The LabVIEW graphical language is used for filtering, analysis, storing, and monitoring the current data. The three phase stator current are filtered and transformed to frequency level by FIT. An analysis window programed by LabVIEW is located in front panel to show the FIT results and this suggested window has a zooming function to detect the fault feature more easily near the feature frequency range which is varying by the slip frequency. To show the possibility of portable rotor bar diagnosis system, three types(healthy, one rotor bar fault, two rotor bar fault) of rotor bar are intentionally prepared and compared by the suggested window of front panel. Experimental results are shown that a suggested diagnosis system is applicable to portable diagnosis system and the rotor bar fault is detected by the frequency window in front panel programed in LabVIEW graphical language.
