사물인터넷 기반 실내 환경 모니터링 및 자동제어 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Indoor Environment Monitoring and Automatic Control System based on Internet of Things)

  • 생활수준이 점차 높아짐에 따라 환경문제에 대한 국민들의 관심과 인식 수준도 증가하였다. 최근 들어 실내 활동시간이 증가함에 따라 환경에 대한 인식과 개선에 대한 방안이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 IoT 기반 기술을 이용하여 실시간으로 실내 환경에 대한 모니터링을 통해 환경정보를 수집하고 연동된 제어장치를 이용하여 실내 환경을 적정수준으로 유지하고 개선하는 시스템을 설계하고 개발하였다. 이는 기존의 수동적인 실내 환경개선 행위나 대규모 설비를 대신하여 가정이나 소규모 장소에서도 자동적인 실내 환경개선 시스템을 제공한다. 본 시스템은 공기 질과 CO2, 온도와 습도, 소음과 조도에 따른 상태분석과 함께 상대적 기준치를 적용하여 9가지의 상태에 따른 제어신호를 자동제어 모듈로 전송하여 실내 환경을 개선한다.

  • LED 조명기구로의 전환은 홈네트워크 등에서 단순히 기계적 연동에 의해 전원제어만이 고려되던 조명기구를 조명과 무선통신이 결합된 하나의 IT 컨버전스(Convergence)로 변환시켰고, 그 구체적인 예가 바로 Visible Light Communication(VLC) 즉 가시광 무선통신이다. VLC의 대표적인 응용으로 고정밀의 실내 위치측정을 기반으로 하는 실내 내비게이션 시스템을 들 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 대형 건물에서 주로 사용되는 형광등 타입의 LED 조명기구와 현재 사용자 단말로 가장 흔하게 사용되는 스마트 기기를 실내 내비게이션 시스템의 구성요소로 고려하는 VLC 기반의 스마트 기기를 이용한 실내 내비게이션 시스템을 모델링하고 구현함으로써 VLC 응용개발의 구현성과 스마트 기기와의 융합성 연구를 보다 용이하게 하고자 한다.

전반조명 기반 사용자 및 위치인식기술 적용 조명제어 시스템 제안 연구 (A Study on the Suggestion of a Lighting Control System Applying General Illumination and Technology of User and Location Awareness)

  • Studies for the reduction of lighting energy have been done using technologies such as user and location awareness. However, the focus of current research on location-based lighting control has been on energy reduction, which can lead to other issues including an imbalance in indoor illumination. This study proposes a lighting control system applying general illumination and technology for user and location awareness. The proposed lighting control system reduced lighting energy by 72.1%, 66.5% and 62.3% for 1, 2 and 3 users, respectively, compared to the On/Off lighting control system. This lighting control system causes an increase in lighting energy of 35.8% and 10.9% for 1 and 2 users compared to the lighting control system with user and location awareness, while a reduction of 9.4% was seen for 3 users. This means that the proposed system provides more effective energy reduction for a room with multiple occupants as it is based on the general lighting control scheme. The lighting control system applying general illumination and technology of user and location awareness improved the uniformity factor by 32.0%, 39.4% and 33.4% for 1, 2 and 3 users, respectively.

  • The Qualitative improvements of outdoor spaces are unsatisfactory in comparison with that of indoor environment in existing apartments. Lately construction companies are differentiating the outdoor spaces of apartment complexes to meet needs of residents. However, high-rise buildings inherently have limitations on providing exposure to the outdoor settings and inappropriate lightings could have serious impacts on physical and psychological health of residents. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide useful information for the luminous environment of outdoor spaces through the analysis of current apartment complexes' lighting plans. Outdoor space of branded apartment complexes in Seoul, built after the year 2003, were researched. Through site visits, illumination level and lighting plans were investigated classified into entry area, passage area, plaza, rest area, exercise area, and play area. With the result, illumination level of apartment complexes researched was lower than KS illumination standard in all areas and the lighting plans were mostly shown in different condition of first intended lighting plan because of insufficiency of maintenance in lighting system. Therefore, it is need to provide better luminous environment to make outdoor space more lively and energetic at the night time.

에너지 효율로 본 상업용 건물의 적정 창호에 관한 연구 (The optimal window system of office buildings considering energy efficiency)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve energy efficiency of windows in office buildings through the evaluation of their heating, cooling and illumination load. Energy efficiency is influenced by window size which is determined at the early stage of building design. The process of this study is as follows. First, energy performance is analysed according to the various rates of windows through computer simulation (ECOTECT). Then, the annual heating, cooling and illuminating loads according to the different window sizes are compared one another. Results indicated that the optimal window size considering energy efficiency is 50% of the surface area. When the window size is 50% of the surface area, annual maintenance expense is also smallest. Since the cost of cooling is larger than that of heating, too low indoor air temperature in summer is unfavorable based on the reasonable annual maintenance expenses.

Performance Analysis of Optical Path Difference on Visible Light Communication System for Intelligent Transport Systems

  • In outdoor visible light communication channels and LED road illumination communications for the intelligent transport systems (ITS), inter symbol interference (ISI) due to multipath propagation prevents high data rate transmission. Indoor wireless optical communication systems utilizing white LED lights and on the road illumination have been studying about it. Generally, plural lights are installed in room and considered to the traffic information system using existing LED traffic lights. Therefore, their optical path difference must be considered. In this paper, the influence of an optical path difference has been investigated and two approaches against this problem are introduced. One uses on-off keying, return-to-zero (OOK-RZ) coding and the other uses optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM).

라즈베리 파이를 이용한 실내관리 시스템 (A Indoor Management System using Raspberry Pi)

  • 모든 사물들이 인터넷에 연결되는 사물 인터넷 시대에 즈음하여 본 논문에서는 라즈베리파이와 지그비를 이용하여 실내의 LED 조명등과 멀티탭을 on/off 하고 조명등의 밝기와 출입문의 전자 도어락을 스마트폰으로 원격 제어하는 시스템을 제안한다. 라즈베리파이에 적외선 송신 모듈을 연결하여 리모트컨트롤이 가능한 에어컨 등의 가전제품을 스마트폰 어플로 제어했으며 실내의 영상, 실내온도, 조도 등을 모니터링 했다. 리모트컨트롤이 가능한 모든 가전제품들을 원격 제어하기 위해서는 IR 송신코드를 알아내어야 하는데 AVR 마이크로컨트롤러를 이용해서 IR 송신코드를 알아내는 방법을 제안했다. 상용의 사무실용 도어락을 개조하여 원격으로 개폐하는 방법을 제안했다. LED 조명의 밝기는 ATmega88로 PWM 신호를 발생시켜서 0에서 10 레벨까지 컨트롤했고 멀티탭의 제어는 ATmega32와 포토커플러, TRIAC를 사용하였다. 측정된 온도 및 조도는 Tiny44A를 사용하여 A/D 변환되고 SPI 통신으로 라즈베리파이에게 송신된다. 카메라는 라즈베리파이의 CSI(Camera Serial Interface) 헤드에 연결하였다. 스마트 멀티탭은 일정시간 동안 on 시킬 수 있고 미래시점에 on이 되도록 예약할 수 있다. 대기전력을 줄이기 위해서는 수동으로 멀티탭의 콘센트를 뽑거나 스위치을 꺼면 되지만 스위치를 꺼지 않고 외출한 경우에도 스마트폰으로 원격 제어하여 스위치를 꺼면 대기전력을 줄이는데 많은 도움이 될 것이다.

  • The light is one of the most important factors in architectural design. Especially, natural light is the valuable source of illumination that can be utilized for better indoor environment. Compared to artificial light, it is a sustainable energy source without the cost of electric energy and offers a more natural feeling to residents stayed in buildings. Natural light also creates light and shadow in building. It enables people to perceive the depth of space. Many architects have tried to suggest various technologies to create optimum indoor environment by using the natural light. Therefore, this paper tried to examine the works of Le Corbusier and to analyze how to control the light in his works and apply it to his design. It will help to know how he created different characteristics to spaces by using natural light.

  • In this paper, we proposed localization method of mobile robot using color landmark mounted on ceiling. This work is composed 2 parts : landmark recognition part which finds the position of multiple landmarks in image and identifies them and absolute position estimation part which estimates the location and orientation of mobile robot in indoor environment. In landmark recognition part, mobile robot detects artificial color landmarks using simple histogram intersection method in rg color space which is insensitive to the change of illumination. Then absolute position estimation part calculates relative position of the mobile robot to the detected landmarks. For the verification of proposed algorithm, ceiling-orientated camera was installed on a mobile robot and performance of localization was examined by designed artificial color landmarks. As the result of test, mobile robot could achieve the reliable landmark detection and accurately estimate the position of mobile robot in indoor environment.

  • The localization is one of the most important issues for mobile robot. This paper describes a novel localization system for the development of a location sensing network. The system comprises wirelessly controlled infrared landmarks and an image sensor which detects the pixel positions of infrared sources. The proposed localization system can operate irrespective of the illumination condition in the indoor environment. We describe the operating principles of the developed localization system and report the performance for mobile robot localization and navigation. The advantage of the developed system lies in its robustness and low cost to obtain location information as well as simplicity of deployment to build a robot location sensing network. Experimental results show that the developed system outperforms the state-of-the-art localization methods.
