The study aims to examine the effectiveness of flipped learning teaching methods by using learning analytics to enable effective programming learning for non-major students. After designing a flipped learning programming class model applied with the ADDIE model, learning-related data of the lecture support system operated by the school was processed with crawling. By providing data processed with crawling through a dashboard so that the instructor can understand it easily, the instructor can design classes more efficiently and provide individually tailored learning based on this. As a result of analysis based on the learning-related data collected through one semester class, it was found that the department, academic year, attendance, assignment submission, and preliminary/review attendance had an effect on academic achievement. As a result of survey analysis, they responded that the individualized feedback of instructors through learning analysis was very helpful in self-directed learning. It is expected that it will serve as an opportunity for instructors to provide a foundation for enhancing teaching activities. In the future, the contents of social network services related to learners' learning will be processed with crawling to analyze learners' learning situations.

Relapse is one of the most serious problem in alcoholism treatment area. But there is no proper post-treatment management program for preventing relapse in Korea. The purposes of this study are the analysis of several alcoholism treatment programs and recommendation about consideration for developing our alcoholism treatment program to prevent relapse in our country. Five different alcoholism treatment programs were collected for this study, two programs were collected by participant observation and three were collected by instruction manuals, references, and briefing materials. The followings are the criteria for this analysis of the five treatment programs. 1. the specific characteristics of the treatment program 2. the criterion of the patients, the duration and period (or the treatment, the special activities, and goals of the treatment. 3. the common characteristics of the five treatments. The common characteristics of those treatment programs are; 1 preparation for post-treatment from the beginning of the treatment (hospitalization) 2. assessment of relapse related factors 3. assessment of the relapse-warning signs 4. development and plan of individualized intervention strategy 5. practice of the plan The common characteristics of those treatment programs are 1. groups are classified the recovery training groups and the self-help groups 2 all kind of treatment programs carried out as groups rather than individuals. 3. usefulness which apply to various settings and various types 4. multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach As results, those programs were developed as post-detoxication management program, follow up program, and continued care program and their theoretical framework was from social learning theory. Those programs used the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy for the classes, groups, and social skill training. These finding can be used for developing culturally appropriate alcoholism treatment programs focused on relapse prevention.
Purpose: This study examined the mood state, activities of daily living, and attitude toward aging in the elderly according to the existence of a spouse and investigated the relation between these factors. Method: The subjects consisted of 190 elderly people, who were classified into two groups: those with and without a spouse. The data was collected from March to December 2004 using a structured questionnaire that included general characteristics, mood states, instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), and an attitude toward aging scale. The collected data was analyzed using the program SPSS, including descriptive statistics, $x^2-test$, ANOVA, Scheff's test, and the Pearson correlation coefficient. Result: 1. There were significant differences between the two groups in mood state (t=-3.349, p=.001), anxiety-depression (t=-3.350, p=.001), and anger (t=p=.003) in the mood state subscales, and in attitude toward aging (t=2.514, p=.013). 2. There was a significant positive correlation between vigor and IADL (r=.253, p=.012) in the elderly with a spouse. 3. When there was a spouse, there was a significant difference according to gender (t=2.587, p=.012) in IADL. Without a spouse, there were significant differences in mood states according to education level (F=3.315, p=.023), in anxiety-depression according to the presence of illness (t=2.156, p=.033), in vigor according to age (F=3.439, p=.020) and education level (F=5.285, p=.002), and in IADL according to monthly income (F=3.322, p=.023) and the presence of illness (t=2.172, p=.032). Conclusion: An individualized approach is needed for elderly people that considers living arrangements and the existence of a spouse.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of developing and applying taping therapy combined with heat and exercise therapy to reduce dysmenorrhea and menstrual discomfort and improve daily living ability of female college students. The study consisted of 46 female college students complaining of dysmenorrhea at K University in D city, 23 in the experimental and control groups. Questionnaires were collected and data were analyzed using SPSS statistics. The comparison of kinesi taping with heat and exercise therapy showed that taping therapy with heat and exercise therapy was more effective in reducing dysmenorrhea (t = -3.034, p = .004). The combined heat and exercise taping therapy developed in this study was found to be a more effective nursing intervention for relieving dysmenorrhea and improving daily life performance of female college students. This taping therapy is a simple method. It suggests a study to develop self-nursing education programs for girls in the community with menstrual pain and to verify the effectiveness by applying individualized education programs.
Computer with various powerful functions has profound potential for mathematics instruction and learning. As computer technology progress, its applicability to mathematics education become more comprehensive. Not only its functional development but various psychological positions also changed the way computer technology utilized in mathematics education. In behaviorist's perspective, computer viewed as a teaching machine and constructivist viewed computer as microworld where students could explore various mathematical contents. Both theoretical positions emphasized individual aspect of learning because behaviorist tried to individualize learning using computer and constructivist focused on the process of individual construction. But learning is not only a individual event but also a social event. Therefore we must take social aspect into account. This is especially important when it comes to computer based learning. So far, mathematics loaming with computer weighed individual aspect of loaming. Even in microworld environment, learning should be mediated by teacher and collaborative learning activities. In this aspect, the roles of teacher and peers are very important and socio-cultural perspective sheds light on the computer based learning. In socio-cultural perspective, the idea of scaffold is very important in learning and students gradually internalize the social dimension and scaffolding is gradually faded. And in the zone of proximal development, teacher and more competent peers guide students to formulate their own understanding. In sum, we must take following points into account. First of all, computer should not be viewed as a medium for individualized teaming. That is, interaction with computer should be catalyst for collaborative activities with peers. So, exploration in computer environment has to be followed by small group activities including small group discussion. Secondly, regardless of the role that computer would play, teacher should play a crucial role in computer based learning. This does not mean teacher should direct every steps in learning process. Teacher's intervention should help student construct actively. Thirdly, it is needed to conceptualize computer in learning situation as medium. This would affect learning situation and result in the change of pre-service and in-service teacher training. Computer to be used effectively in mathematics classroom, researches on assessment of computer based learning are needed.

In order to study the effect of the 'General Science' course implemented under the 6th science curriculum, high school students' views about the relationship between science/technology and society and their perceptions of science classroom environment were investigated. Four classes (n = 211) were selected from those completed the 'Science I' course under the 5th science curriculum, and 4 another classes (n = 216) which took the 'General Science' course under the 6th science curriculum were selected. In order to compare students' views about the relationship between science /technology and society. 10 items were selected from the VOSTS (Views On Science-Technology-Society) while considering the 6th science curriculum and the 'General Science' textbooks, and administered at the end of the 'Science I' course and at the beginning and end of the 'General Science' course. In order to compare the perceptions of science classroom environment, the Perceptions of Science Classroom Environment Questionnaire, which was prepared from the Individualized Classroom Environment Questionnaire. the Science Laboratory Environment Inventory, and the Classroom Environment Scale. was also administered at the end of the 'Science I' course and the 'General Science' course. The results indicated that the mean VOSTS score of the 6th-curriculum group was lower than that of the 5th-curriculum group, although the difference was not statistically significant. The decrease in the VOSTS score of the 6th-curriculum group during the 'General Science' course was statistically significant. It was also found that unrealistic views such as 'technology is the application of science', and 'corporations should control science/technology' had been formed during the course. However, the 6th-curriculum group had more positive perceptions of science classroom environment. Educational implications are discussed.

The traditional programs developed by the existing CAI technique have the fixed curricular, which make it difficult to deliver various study materials that fit the learners of various levels. In addition, a lack of the flexibility prevents from helping to make their methodology in studying uniform open minded. In order to solve these problems, we have designed and implemented a learner interface that can exclude the limits in the learners active study in solving the fractional operation. In addition to the user interface, this study includes a diagnosis module that can intellectually extract the status of learners understanding, ostensible bugs, and the associated misconceptions through the interface. The experimentation based on the learner interface and the diagnosis module shows that this system correctly diagnoses the level of learners' understanding and the errors in learning, which greatly helps the individualized study.
Background. Ischemic heart disease results from athesclerotic changes of the coronary artery. These changes are aggravated by hypercholesterolemia, smoking, obesity, lack of exercise, coronary-prone personality, and stress. Because these risk factors affect not only the prevalence of the ischemic heart disease but also recurrence of the disease, cardiac rehabilitation programs were introduced to help patients with ischemic heart disease reduce risk factors. Diverse cardiac rehabilitation programs are needed to motivate participation in cardiac rehabilitation and to enhance patients' quality of life. Objectives. To examine the effect of a self-efficacy promoting cardiac rehabiltation program on self-efficacy, health behavior and quality of life of patients with ischemic heart disease. Methods. Data were collected from 45 hospitalized ischemic heart disease patients. Medical records were reviewed to obtain demographic and clinical characteristics. Data regarding self-efficacy, health behavior, and quality of life were obtained from interviews using structured questionnaires. The nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used to conduct this study. One session of conventional group education was given to patients in the control group while they were in the hospital. Patients in the experimental group participated in a newly developed cardiac rehabilitation program. It focused on strengthening self-efficacy with four self-efficacy sources-performance accomplishment, vicarious experiences, verbal persuasion and physical status using two individualized in-hospital education sessions and four weekly telephone counseling follow-up calls after discharge. Results. Four weeks after discharge, the increment of total self-efficacy score was significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group (p<.0l). There was also a significant difference in the total quality of life scores increments between the two groups (p<.0l). However, no significant changes were noted in the increments of total health behavior scores between the two groups. Conclusion. A cardiac rehabilitation program focusing on promoting self-efficacy was effective in improving self-efficacy, and quality of life of patients with ischemic heart disease.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to suggest the strategies for improvement of home-delivered meal services for the elderly, to identify reasons for recipients to get started with the services and to evaluate the attitude, acceptability and adaptation of recipients to the services from the perspective of life context. Methods: The data was collected through face-to-face in-depth interviews with eighteen low-income elderly recipients of home-delivered meals and analyzed using a qualitative research method. Results: The results were deduced as four themes which comprised of long-term vulnerable socioeconomic contexts resulted in entry to the services, conflicting acceptability to the services, passive adaptation to taking the services, and positive practices to cope with supplement free meals or other services. The service participation was initiated because of a combination of prolonged, vulnerable socioeconomic contexts, including poverty and unexpected life events such as diseases, disability, living alone, aging and unemployment. With regard to taking the services, conflicting acceptability was observed: positive aspects including saving living cost and good quality of meals, and negative aspects including lack of a tailored service and feeling of stigma. Although the recipients needed an individualized service, they did not express their needs and demands for the services and they accepted the unavailability as an accustomed, prolonged vulnerable socioeconomic context. With regard to lack of tailored services, either self-solution such as modification of eating patterns or community-based network and services were used. Conclusions: We suggest that a system to concretely identify recipients' attitude, acceptability and adaptation for home-delivered meal services should be developed in the establishment of a tailored nutrition support system for the low-income elderly.
