Effects of a Team Facilitation Program on Team Activities in Problem Based Learning (문제중심학습(PBL)에서 팀 활동을 촉진을 위한 퍼실리테이션 프로그램 적용에 대한 융합 연구)

  • This quasi-experimental study was conducted to develop and implement a team facilitation program as well as to evaluate the effects of the program on Problem Based Learning (PBL) and how these influence on team dynamics. Data were collected in a convenient sample of 126 nursing students (intervention group=69; control group=57). Data were analyzed using ${\chi}^2$ test, T-test, and ANCOVA. SPSS23 was used. The intervention group received the PBL team facilitation program, whereas the control group received a human interaction training. The intervention group than the control group demonstrated significantly higher scores in a team dynamic among team members(F=10.35,p<0.01), trust among team members(F=9.86,p<0.01), communication(F=5.69,p<0.05), learning behavior of a team(F=4.57,p<0.05), and individual capability evaluation(F=5.12,p<0.05). Team performance was not significantly different between groups. This study reveals that the team facilitation program is an effective strategy to maximize the effects of PBL. We propose the need for educational strategy to support team function.

SOURCE-FREQUENCY PHASE-REFERENCING OBSERVATION OF AGNS WITH KAVA USING SIMULTANEOUS DUAL-FREQUENCY RECEIVING

  • The KVN(Korean VLBI Network)-style simultaneous multi-frequency receiving mode is demonstrated to be promising for mm-VLBI observations. Recently, other Very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) facilities all over the globe start to implement compatible optics systems. Simultaneous dual/multi-frequency VLBI observations at mm wavelengths with international baselines are thus possible. In this paper, we present the results from the first successful simultaneous 22/43 GHz dual-frequency observation with KaVA(KVN and VERA array), including images and astrometric results. Our analysis shows that the newly implemented simultaneous receiving system has brought a significant extension of the coherence time of the 43 GHz visibility phases along the international baselines. The astrometric results obtained with KaVA are consistent with those obtained with the independent analysis of the KVN data. Our results thus confirm the good performance of the simultaneous receiving systems for the nonKVN stations. Future simultaneous observations with more global stations bring even higher sensitivity and micro-arcsecond level astrometric measurements of the targets.

Reliability and Validity of Korean version of GRIT (한국판 GRIT 척도 : 신뢰도, 타당도 및 요인구조 연구)

  • Objective : GRIT is a non-cognitive trait which is defined as perseverance and passion for long-term goals. It predicts success, performance and thedifference from other traits. The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability and validity of the Korean version of the GRIT scale. Methods : A total of 92 patients were enrolled in the study. All patients received psychiatric assessment including Clinical Useful Depression Outcome Scale (CUDOS), Clinical Useful Anxiety Outcome Scale (CUXOS), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-15), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CDRS), Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), and GRIT as well as demographic assessment. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of total GRIT score and the split-half reliability of each item was calculated to assess test reliability. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were performed to select the best fitting model and assess construct validity. Finally, a correlation analysis was performed to check convergent and discriminant validity. Results : Cronbach's alpha coefficient for GRIT was found to be 0.85 and all Cronbach's alpha were more than 0.8 even in cases where all items were deleted. We found 3 appropriate factor models in exploratory factor analysis, compared them with 3 models and chose the 2-factor model as the most suitable based on the best fit test. Finally, correlation of the GRIT with CUDOS, CUXOS, PHQ-15, CDRS and BRS were statistically significant (all p<0.01), with relatively low correlation coefficient. Conclusion : This study indicates that the Korean version of GRIT is a reliable and valid instrument for investigating individual power of passion and perseverance.

A Focus Group Interview Study on the Daycare Center Director's Recognition and Improvement of Male Teacher's Employment (어린이집 원장의 남자교사 채용 인식과 개선방안에 대한 포커스 집단 연구)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate daycare center director's awareness of male teacher recruitment and need for effective male teacher recruitment. Methods: To this end, eight directors of child care centers with male teachers were selected as subjects of study. The data collection method was applied to the Focus Group Interview method, and a four interviews were conducted for two to two and a half hours. Results: After the interview data was analyzed, the contents were categorized into two major themes and six sub themes in awareness of male teacher recruitment by director of daycare center. The two major themes were (1) A vague fear of upcoming difficulties (2) The light and darkness of male teachers in the organization culture of childcare. Looking at the results, in a vague fear of upcoming difficulties theme includes administrative disadvantages, gender-related social atmosphere, and uncertainty about their role performance. Second, in the light and darkness theme includes women-centered organizational culture and adaptation, the vision of child care sites, and the role of male teachers at childcare sites. Next the contents were categorized into one major theme and four sub themes in need for effective male teacher recruitment by director of daycare center. The major theme was a male teacher's way into the daycare site, and sub five themes were expanding opportunities for child care experience and practices, a shift in the perception that it's not a man, it's an individual problem, maximizing the strengths of men, and improving the system. Conclusion/Implications: Based on these results, several specific implications of need for effective male teacher recruitment were suggested.

A Study on the Performance Evaluation of Effectiveness and Satisfaction of Veteran Medical Service Delivery System : Focused on the Perspective of Provider and Beneficiary (보훈의료서비스 전달체계의 효과성과 만족도에 관한 성과평가 연구 : 공급자 측면과 수요자 측면을 중심으로)

  • This study examines determining factors of effectiveness and satisfaction of Veteran Medical Service Delivery System. Especially, the association between the relevant variables of the effectiveness of the Veteran Medical Service Delivery System and the variables of the satisfaction from the perspective of beneficiaries was studied. Multi-level analysis was utilized to separate results of the evaluation of effectiveness in organizational-level and the evaluation of satisfaction in individual-level. This study tests key posited hypothesis by using survey data collected from 5 medical center of country(Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju). In terms of the result of the hypothesis testing on the effectiveness variable, integrity(${\beta}=.156$), accountability(${\beta}=.376$, financial sufficiency(${\beta}=.109$), and adequacy (${\beta}=.367$) are the determinants among various factors in evaluating veteran medical service delivery system, statistically reflecting the perception of directors of the veteran medical service delivery facilities on effectiveness. In other word, professionalism variable(${\beta}=0.99$) and effectiveness variable(${\beta}=-1.09$) are statistically reflecting the perception of directors of the beneficiaries satisfaction with employee. The findings suggests that the theoretical and practical implications will improve Effectiveness and Satisfaction of Veteran Medical Service Delivery System.

Regional differences in Korean children's development of speech production (우리나라 아동의 지역별 말소리 발달 차이)

  • This study aimed to investigate regional differences in the development of speech production in Korean children. A total of 619 children aged 2 to 7 years from the Jeolla, Seoul/Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Gyeongsang areas were included in this study. The subjects were assessed with the UTAP2 word-level test. In PWC, PMLU, and PWP, the performance was significantly lower in Gyeongsang at 2 years 11 months and in Jeolla and Chungcheong at 3 years 5 months than in Seoul/Gyeonggi. The total PCC of Gyeongsang and Chungcheong and UTAP PCC of Chungcheong were significantly lower at 2 years 11 months compared with those of Seoul/Gyeonggi, while Jeolla and Chungcheong showed significantly lower total PCC and UTAP PCC than Seoul/Gyeonggi at 3 years 5 months. However, no regional difference was observed in any indicators after the age of 3 years 6 months. These results suggest that there are regional differences in the ability to produce speech sounds at a very young age, and that the differences can be explained by the differences between Seoul/Gyeonggi and the other provinces rather than by the individual characteristics of specific regions.

Effect of Fingertip Temperature on Multi-finger Actions in Young Adults (손 끝 온도변화가 젊은 성인의 다중 손가락 동작에 미치는 효과)

  • Objective: This study examined the effects of stimulating fingertip temperature on the patterns of force sharing and stability properties during multi-finger force production tasks. Method: 9 adult subjects (male: 3, female: 6, age: $26.11{\pm}4.01yrs$, height: $169.22{\pm}5.97cm$, weight: $61.44{\pm}11.27kg$) participated in this study. The experiment consisted of three blocks: 1) maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) task, 2) single-finger ramp task to quantify enslaving (i.e., unintended force production by non-task fingers), and 3) 12 trials of multi-finger steady-state force production task at 20% MVC. There were three temperature conditions including body-temperature (i.e., control condition), $40^{\circ}C$, and $43^{\circ}C$, and the stimulation was given to the index finger only for all experimental conditions. Results: There were no significant differences in the MVC forces, enslaving, and the accuracy of performance during the steady-state task between the conditions. However, the share of stimulated index finger force increased with the index fingertip temperature, while the share of middle finger force decreased. Also, the coefficient of variation of both index and middle finger forces over repetitive trials increased with the index fingertip temperature. Under the framework of the uncontrolled manifold (UCM) hypothesis used to quantify indices of multi-finger synergies (i.e., stability property) stabilizing total force during the steady-state task, the two variance components within the UCM analysis increased together with the fingertip temperature, while no changes in the synergy indices between the conditions. Conclusion: The current results showed that fingertip temperature stimulation only to index finger does not affect to muscle force production capability of multi-finger, independence of individual fingers, and force production accuracy by the involvement of all four fingers. The effect of fingertip temperature on the sharing pattern and force variation may be due to diffuse reflex effects of the induced afferent activity on alpha-motoneuronal pools. However, the unchanged stability properties may be the reflection of the active error compensation strategies by non-stimulated finger actions.

Meta-Analysis on the Factors Influencing Job of Life-long Educators (평생교육담당자의 직무 관련 메타연구)

  • This study aims the meta analysis based on the results of the empirical studies related to Job of life-long educators who are working in life-long education center, and the relationship between variables. In order to deliver this objective, articles published in domestic journals from December 2000 to April 2019 were collected, and total of 14 studies and 170 sub data were coded. With those data, the meta-analysis was executed by CMA(Comprehensive Meta Analysis) 3.0 program. The results of this meta-analysis study are as follows. First, the overall effect size associated with Job of life-long educators was 0.767, indicating between medium and large effect size. Second, the effect sizes of dependent variables that are influenced by job of life-long educators were Organization immersion, Job performance, Job satisfaction, and Job stress in order. Third, the effect size of Individual focus variables study was almost twice as big as that of mutual relation focus variables. The implications of this study were suggested based on the analysis results to provide the directivity about how we consider life-long educators related to their job.

Improved breakdown characteristics of Ga2O3 Schottky barrier diode using floating metal guard ring structure (플로팅 금속 가드링 구조를 이용한 Ga2O3 쇼트키 장벽 다이오드의 항복 특성 개선 연구)

  • In this study, we have proposed a floating metal guard ring structure based on TCAD simulation in order to enhance the breakdown voltage characteristics of gallium oxide ($Ga_2O_3$) vertical high voltage switching Schottky barrier diode. Unlike conventional guard ring structures, the floating metal guard rings do not require an ion implantation process. The locally enhanced high electric field at the anode corner was successfully suppressed by the metal guard rings, resulting in breakdown voltage enhancement. The number of guard rings and their width and spacing were varied for structural optimization during which the current-voltage characteristics and internal electric field and potential distributions were carefully investigated. For an n-type drift layer with a doping concentration of $5{\times}10^{16}cm^{-3}$ and a thickness of $5{\mu}m$, the optimum guard ring structure had 5 guard rings with an individual ring width of $1.5{\mu}m$ and a spacing of $0.2{\mu}m$ between rings. The breakdown voltage was increased from 940 V to 2000 V without degradation of on-resistance by employing the optimum guard ring structure. The proposed floating metal guard ring structure can improve the device performance without requiring an additional fabrication step.

The Status of Personal Information Protection for Original Text Information Disclosure Service (원문정보공개 서비스에서의 개인정보 보호 실태)

  • With the provision of the original text information disclosure service, the time spent on determining the disclosure of the original text information decreased, and the number of original text information disclosure significantly increased. In public institutions, the risk of the exposure of personal information also increased. In this study, the status of personal information protection in the original text information disclosure service was investigated. Moreover, the causes of the exposure of personal information were analyzed, and improvements were proposed. The survey presented the following results. First, 13% of the original text information collected contains personal information, which is the nondisclosure information. Second, among the original text information that includes personal information, the original text information, including the personal information of the public official, was the most important. In particular, many records about vacation and medical leaves were found. Third, there were many cases in which information about the individual of the representative was exposed in the agency that deals mainly with the contract work. Fourth, a large volume of personal information was not detected by filtering personal information. Upon analyzing the cause of the exposure of personal information, the following improvements are suggested. First, privacy guidelines should be redesigned. Second, the person in charge of the task of deciding whether or not to disclose original text information should be trained further. Third, the excessive disclosure of information based on the government's quantitative performance should be eased. Fourth, the filtering function of the personal information of the original text information disclosure system should be improved.
