  • Let {$X_i$, $1{\leq}i{\leq}n$} be a sequence of i.i.d. sequence of positive random variables with common absolutely continuous cumulative distribution function F(x) and probability density function f(x) and $E(X^2)$ < ${\infty}$. The random variables X + Y and $\frac{(X-Y)^2}{(X+Y)^2}$ are independent if and only if X and Y have gamma distributions. In addition, the random variables $S_n$ and $\frac{\sum_{i=1}^{m}(X_i)^2}{(S_n)^2}$ with $S_n=\sum_{i=1}^{n}X_i$ are independent for $1{\leq}m$ < n if and only if $X_i$ has gamma distribution for $i=1,{\cdots},n$.

  • An improvement to the existing blind signal separation (BSS) method has been made in this paper. The proposed method models the inherent signal dependency observed in acoustic object to separate the real-world convolutive sound mixtures. The frequency domain approach requires solving the well known permutation problem, and the problem had been successfully solved by a vector representation of the sources whose multidimensional joint densities have a certain amount of dependency expressed by non-spherical distributions. Especially for speech signals, we observe strong dependencies across neighboring frequency bins and the decrease of those dependencies as the bins become far apart. The non-spherical joint density model proposed in this paper reflects this property of real-world speech signals. Experimental results show the improved performances over the spherical joint density representations.

  • This paper presents the analysis results to evaluate the application of separation sleeper boot of turnout in concrete track in subway. An analysis includes the dynamic load on turnout-bridge and the ballast improvement method of upbound and down line independent girder in servicing line. From the results, the aspect and the property of separation sleeper boot of turnout are evaluated. FE analysis explain the relationship between independent bridge and track behaviour of dynamic loads. The assessment of application based on FE analysis results in a good improvement method of servicing subway line is proposed.

  • Data envelopment analysis(DEA) is a mathematical programming approach to asses s relative efficiency of a group of decision-making units. In view of the defects of existing models in evaluating efficiency of the system with P independent subsystems, Yang et al. [10] introduced YMK model with the assumption that decision-making unit(DMU) is independent of each other. But in some production systems, decision-making units usually have some relationships in this way or that. In this paper, DEA model is given by assuming that DMUs can cooperate with others in its subgroups. Some property and the efficiency relationship of the whole system and its subsystems are given.

  • 프리드리히 니체와 앨프레드 화이트헤드에 따르면, 근대 서양의 존재론이 범한 치명적인 오류는 현실의 구조가 언어의 구조와 같다고 착각하는 데 있다. 언어는 주어-술어 구조를 띠고 있는데, 현실도 이 구조를 띠고 있다고 착각해서, 허구적인 언어적 주어를 현실적으로 존재하고 있는 주체로 잘못 설정하고 있다. 이 허구적인 주체 개념이 바로 인격 개념이다. 본 논문은 이러한 허구적인 인격 개념이 어떻게 자본주의 금융이 발전하는 데 토대를 이루는지 분석할 것이다. 본 논문의 분석하는 역사적 시기와 장소는 17세기 후반 영국이다. 이 시기에 영국에서 근대적 형태의 은행업이 시작됐으며 동시에 근대적 주체 개념인 "인격" 개념이 존 로크 등에 의해 철학적으로 발전한다. 동시에 유한책임 주식회사와 국가 또한 독립적인 추상적 인격성이 추상적인격체로 독립성을 획득한다. 이 추상적 인격 개념은 사회적 관계를 "배타적 소유"와 "채권-채무" 관계로 환원하고, 이 환원이 근대 금융의 존재론적 바탕을 이룬다. 배타적 재산권은 행사하지만 책임을 져야 할 때는 채권으로 변모해 그 책임을 회피하는 제도가 바로 근대 금융의 본질이다. 그리고 영원하고 독립적인 인격성을 지니게 된 근대적 집단을 채무자로 전락시킴으로 근대 금융의 채권자들은 자신들의 특권을 크게 강화한다.

WIENER-HOPF C*-ALGEBRAS OF STRONGL PERFORATED SEMIGROUPS

  • If the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W(G,M) for a discrete group G with a semigroup M has the uniqueness property, then the structure of it is to some extent independent of the choice of isometries on a Hilbert space. In this paper we show that if the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W(G,M) of a partially ordered group G with the positive cone M has the uniqueness property, then (G,M) is weakly unperforated. We also prove that the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W($\mathbb{Z}$, M) of subsemigroup generating the integer group $\mathbb{Z}$ is isomorphic to the Toeplitz algebra, but W($\mathbb{Z}$, M) does not have the uniqueness property except the case M = $\mathbb{N}$.

  • Systematic methods to calculate thermodynamic properties of carbon dioxide, HFC-l34a and HCFC-22 are presented. First, application of a basic method to identify the saturation state with given temperature or pressure is attempted and the feasibility of auxiliary equations is tested. Next, detailed procedures are suggested to tell a phase when temperature/pressure and another property are specified. Finally Newton-Raphson method is applied to calculate unknown thermodynamic properties fixing the state with the two independent properties specified. The procedures described here are utilized to develop a computer program, which is used to find the relation between temperature and pressure with maximum isobaric heat capacity for super-critical carbon dioxide.

Zirconium Titanate Thin FIlm Prepared by Surface Sol-Gel Process and Effects of Thickness on Dielectric Property

  • Single phase of multicomponent oxide ZrTiO4 film could be prepared through surface sol-gel route simply by coating the mixture of 100 mM zirconium butoxide and titanium butoxide on $Pt/Ti/SiO_2Si(100)$ substrate, following pyro lysis at $450^{\circ}C$, and annealing it at 770 $^{\circ}C.$ The dielectric constant of the film was reduced as the film thickness decreased due to of the interfacial effects caused by layer/electrode and a few voids inside the multilayer. However, the dielectric property was independent of applied dc bias sweeps voltage (-2 to +2 V).The dielectric constant of bulk film, 31.9, estimated using series-connected capacitor model was independent of film thickness and frequency in the measurement range, but theoretical interfacial thickness, ti, was dependent on the frequency. It reached a saturated ti value, $6.9{\AA}$, at high frequency by extraction of some capacitance component formed at low frequency range. The dielectric constant of bulk ZrTiO4 pellet-shaped material was 33.7 and very stable with frequency promising as good applicable devices.
