A system of tracking a vehicle collects the vehicle location and then transmits the data into a GIS server in order to provide several service areas. An ODU built in the vehicle savesa GPS information data and communicates with the RSU installed in the road over the wave technology. The collected data in RSU is transmitted into the GIS serverand is stored. The system based on the collected GPS data in each vehicle is providing useful and various services between RSU and OBU. In this paper indicates that the system is designed in 2 phasesbased on the collected GPS data. The result comparing to process of GPS data created in 1 phase and 2 phase over the Web GIS service indicates that the capability of process of the GPS data in 2 phase is enhanced in "50.88% ~ 51.81%". Therefore, when the accident is happened the system of tracking the vehicle over GPS tech not only receives the information properly but also provides the emergence rescue services.

Early iterations of the existing Global Positioning System (GPS)-based or radio lateration technique-based vehicle localization algorithms suffer from flip ambiguities, forged relative location information and location information exchange overhead, which affect the subsequent iterations. This, in turn, results in an erroneous neighbor-vehicle map. This paper proposes an extended information overlap measure (EIOM) algorithm to reduce the flip error rates by exchanging the neighbor-vehicle presence features in binary information. This algorithm shifts and associates three pieces of information in the Moore neighborhood format: 1) feature information of the neighboring vehicles from a vision-based environment sensor system; 2) cardinal locations of the neighboring vehicles in its Moore neighborhood; and 3) identification information (MAC/IP addresses). Simulations were conducted for multi-lane highway scenarios to compare the proposed algorithm with the existing algorithm. The results showed that the flip error rates were reduced by up to 50%.

In the ubiquitous computing environment, an intelligent vehicle is defined as a sensor node with a capability of intelligence and communication in a wire and wireless network space. To make it real, a lot of problems should be addressed in the aspect of vehicle mobility, in-vehicle communication, common service platform and the connection of heterogeneous networks to provide a driver with several intelligent information services beyond the time and space. In this paper, we present an intelligent information system for managing in-vehicle sensor network and a vehicle gateway for connecting the external networks. The in-vehicle sensor network connected with several sensor nodes is used to collect sensor data and control the vehicle based on CAN protocol. Each sensor node is equipped with a reusable modular node architecture, which contains a common CAN stack, a message manager and an event handler. The vehicle gateway makes vehicle control and diagnosis from a remote host possible by connecting the in-vehicle sensor network with an external network. Specifically, it gives an access to the external mobile communication network such as CDMA. Some experiments was made to find out how long it takes to communicate between a vehicle's intelligent information system and an external server in the various environment. The results show that the average response time amounts to 776ms at fixed place, 707ms at rural area and 910ms at urban area.
In this paper, the transfer function to the vehicle is derived from using system identification algorithm in connection with the driving vehicle. We design the adaptive cruise controller using the derived transfer function, and make it possible to monitoring and control the vehicle in real time using embedded system and technology of Internet.
This paper considers a door-to-door service system in which pickups or deliveries are performed by a trip of a single vehicle. Each customer request specifies the quantity of the load transported, the location, and the time window within which it is to be picked up or delivered. Since the system is demand responsive, i.e., new or emergent requests become available in real-time, the current vehicle route has to be reconstructed to include these requests. In this case, only continuous vehicle tracking enables control over the requests and ensures that the requests are satisfied on time. This paper suggests a pilot pickup/delivery management system integrating a geographic information system(GIS) and a global position system(GPS) to efficiently deal with such a dynamic environment. The GIS offers a way of displaying the vehicle route on digital maps for the region under concerned. Also displayed is the current location of the vehicle obtained from the GPS. A heuristic algorithm is used to dynamically determine the vehicle route. A practical example is provided to show the feasibility of the system.
This paper proposes an adaptive multimodal in-vehicle information system for safe driving. The proposed system filters input information based on both the priority assigned to the information and the given driving situation, to effectively manage input information and intelligently provide information to the driver. It then interacts with the driver using an adaptive multimodal interface by considering both the driving workload and the driver's cognitive reaction to the information it provides. It is shown experimentally that the proposed system can promote driver safety and enhance a driver's understanding of the information it provides by filtering the input information. In addition, the system can reduce a driver's workload by selecting an appropriate modality and corresponding level with which to communicate. An analysis of subjective questionnaires regarding the proposed system reveals that more than 85% of the respondents are satisfied with it. The proposed system is expected to provide prioritized information through an easily understood modality.
Recent development in wireless computing and GPS technology cause the active development in the application system of location information in real-time environment such as transportation vehicle management, air traffic control and location based system. Especially, study about vehicle location tracking system, which monitors the vehicle's position in a control center, is appeared to be a representative application system. However, the current vehicle location tracking system can not provide vehicle position information that is not stored in a database at a specific time to users. We designed a vehicle location tracking system that could track vehicle location using mobile interface such as PDA. The proposed system consist of a vehicle location retrieving server and a mobile interface. It is provide not only the moving vehicle's current location but also the position at a past and future time which is not stored in database for users.
The automatic determination of vehicle operation status as well as continuous tracking of vehicle location with intelligent management is one of major elements to achieve the goals. Especially, vehicle operation status can only be analyzed in terms of expert experiences with real-time location data with scheduling information. However the scheduling information of individual vehicle is very difficult to be interpreted immediately because there are hundreds of thousand vehicles are run at the same time in the national wide range workplace. In this paper, we propose the location-based knowledge management system(LKMs) using the active trajectory analysis method with routing and scheduling information to cope with the problems. This system uses an inference technology with dispatching and geographic information to generate the logistics knowledge that can be furnished to the manager in the central vehicle monitoring and controlling center.

In this paper, we developed a vehicle control terminal using IoT and low-power long-distance communication (NB-IoT) technology. This system collects information on the location and status of a parked vehicle, and transmits the vehicle status to the vehicle owner's terminal in real time with low power to prevent vehicle theft, and in the case of a vehicle in motion, When primary information about the vehicle, such as an impact, is collected and transmitted to the server, the server analyzes the relevant data to generate secondary information on traffic congestion, road damage, and safety accidents. By sending it, you can know the exact arrival time of the vehicle at its destination. This terminal device is an IoT gateway for a vehicle and can be connected to various wired and wireless sensors inside the vehicle. In addition, the data collected from vehicle maintenance, efficient operation, and vehicles can be usefully used in the private or public sector.

In this paper, we propose a web GPS based logistics vehicle control management system using MVC design patterns. The proposed system is designed by applying design patterns of object oriented modeling called mini-architecture to enhance reliability of software as well as promote stability of overall system design. In addition, we can get a position information by means of the GPS embedded in PDA and communicate between client and monitoring server using CDMA network so that the position of client can be identified directly by the map service. The system provides an moving object indexing technique which extends the existing TB-tree to manage and retrieve a transporting trajectory of logistics efficiently. Finally, with development of the logistics vehicle control service called WG-LOGICS system, we can verify the usefulness of our system which is able for monitoring a vehicle preparation, allocating registration, loading a burden, transfer path, and destination arrival in real world.
