This paper presents a signal processing IC for digital HDTV, which is designed to operate in bunt-in HDW or in HD-set-top Box. The chip supports de-multiplexing an ISO/IEC 13818-1 MPEG-2 TS stream. It decodes MPEG-2 MP@HL video bitstream, and provides high-quality scaled video for display on HDTV monitor. The chip consists of ARM7TDMI for TS-Demux, PCI interface, Audio interface, MPEG2 MP@HL video decoder Display processor, Graphic processor, Memory controller, Audio int3face, Smart Card interface and UART. It is fabricated using Sam sung's 0.18-um and the package of 492-pin BGA is used.

In order to research the display of the apparel store, 164 women's clothing in Taegu were investigated, from September 1. to October 31.1991. The result was as follows; 1. The perpendicular style of the show window glasses is widely used regardless of the store types. 2. The show window story is most frequently found at street-level in Taegu brand stores, but there are a few multi-storied show windows in National bland stores. 3. The open style background is used in a great part of Taegu brands, but the semi-open style is widely used in most National blands. 4. The arrangement of simular colors is used in a great parts of National brands, but the arrangement of different colors is used in many Taegu brands. 5. The base light and spot light is used at a high rate regardless of the stores, but the mannequin is more often used in National brands and Taegu brands.

Purpose: The survey-based study aimed to determine the distribution and clustering tendency of metabolic syndrome risk factors in urban residents, and cluster odds ratios. Methods: Cluster sampling involved 827 urban participants and analysis of the collected data. Results: Regarding the prevalence of metabolic syndrome risk factors used for diagnosis, abdominal obesity was higher in women(69.5%) than in men(34.3%), high blood pressure was higher in men(57%) than in women(46.5%), and blood sugar was higher in men(6.9%) than in women(5.7%). Clustering increased with increasing body mass index(BMI), weight:height ratio(W/Ht) and abdominal obesity Risk factors for females were 1.7 times higher than for males. Participants with a family history of metabolic syndrome displayed related risk factors 1.5 times more than participants without a family history. Participants having a BMI ranking them as obese were 9.5 times more likely to display metabolic syndrome risk factors than non-obese participants. Obese participants were 20 times more likely to display risk factors than non-obese participants. Conclusion: BMI, W/Ht and abdominal obesity correlate with clustering of metabolic syndrome risk factors. The risk is increased by smoking and family history. Exercise weight control and non-smoking are recommended for comprehensive management of clustering of metabolic syndrome risk factors.

기존의 거울이라고 하면 단순히 자신의 모습을 보는 용도로 쓰였다. 하지만 현재 상용화 되고 있는 "Mirror Display"는 미용실의 전면 거울, 대형 백화점의 쇼핑 코너와 화장품 코너 등에 설치 되어 있다. 추가로 거울에 광고와 특정 서비스 등으로 부가적인 수익을 창출해 나가고 있다. 본 논문에서는 "Mirror Display"를 소형화하여 가정집에서 사용자의 설정에 따라 일기 예보, 캘린더, 시간, 교통정보, 중요 뉴스 등을 제공한다. 또한 홀로그램 기술을 접목하여 3D 출력방식으로 필요한 정보를 보여준다는 것은 거울의 본질을 극대화 할 수 있을 것이다. 이런 사용자 만족도를 상승 시킬 "Hologram Mirror Display"를 구현한다.

The recent development of InGaN-based white light emitting diodes (LEDs) has expanded their potential applications in areas such as white electric home appliances, backlight for mobile phone or notebook PC, and indoor lightings. In this lecture, recent researches related to the phosphors for LEDs applications and their luminescent properties were reviewed. PDPs are considered as the most potential flat panel displays with a large-screen size. Phosphors in PDPs directly affect the brightness and lifetime. So, many researchers have tried to improve the luminescence characteristics of the phosphors especially under vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excitation. We overviewed recent research trends and conclusive achievements for the PDP phosphors.

In darkroom condition, it was observed that a white picture pattern lasted several minutes leaves a recognizable trace in subsequent black background picture. Although this is not a serious problem for the most current public display or home TV applications, the image sticking should be minimized for future high quality multimedia display applications. In order to characterize this picture memory effect having relatively long time scale, spatially resolved luminance measurement and light waveform measurement have been performed. Pixels located at the outer boundary of white pattern previously displayed shows highest luminance. These cells also shows fastest ignition at the ramp up reset sequence. The luminance and ignition voltage differences between boundary cells and the other cells are increased with display duration and number of sustain-pulse. It is speculated that image sticking observed at the boundary cell is originated from the transport of charged particles and re-deposition of reactive species such as Mg, O provided from strong sustain discharge region.

본 논문에서는 스마트 전력량계에 세대집중화장치를 내장하여 AMI에 필요한 가스, 수도, 온수, 난방 검침을 일괄검침하는 시스템과, 검침데이터를 에너지정보표시장치(IHD: In House Display)와 서버로 전송하는 방법을 구성하여 보다 경제적으로 AMI 시스템을 구축하는 방법을 제시한다. 개발된 시스템은 기존 시스템 보다 네트워크 구성에 있어서 가격이 저렴하고 운영비용이 절감되며 설치가 용이하다. 개발된 시스템을 적용하면 전기, 수도, 가스, 온수 및 난방의 5종 계량기의 계량값을 원격검침 하고 이에 대한 AMI 적용을 보다 용이하게 구성 가능하다. 주요개발 내용은 스마트 전력량계 구성과 세대집중화장치 결합 및 이들 데이터를 IHD와 서버로 전송하는 방법이며, 이들 요소들을 연계하여 시스템을 구성하고 실제 검침 동작구성을 테스트하고 그 결과를 보여준다.

This paper proposes a new concept of IDSP(Intelligent Digital Switchgear Panel) which can solve the problem of the safety, the reliability and the convenience to correspond to the requirement of the general electric customer or electric power company under the ubiquitous-based home automation environments. By analyzing their requirement functions, a 32-bit micro processor is adopted as main controller to support the designed functions efficiently. The DSP-based single phase power management device is utilized to collect the electric power information and the ethernet convertor to communicate through internet among the IDSPs and the remote computer system. In the proposed IDSP, the several functions are implemented such as the earth leakage level display and waveform transmission, the electric fee display, the voltage management, the load management and the load control function. Finally, the prototype of the IDSP is made experimently based on the designed results, and then the effectiveness is verified by testing its basic functions.

삼성동 코엑스에 위치한 'K-Pop Squre Media'는 대형 전광판에 다양한 입체 동영상을 상영하며, 대중적 이목과 매스미디어의 주목을 받게 되었다. 기존과 차별화된 대형 곡면 LED 전광판의 영상은 미디어 파사드 기법의 일종으로 코엑스 광장의 공간적 특성과 함께 새로운 랜드마크이자 명소로 자리 잡고 있다. 이에, 본 연구는 도시 공간 속 옥외 광고에서 활용되는 미디어 파사드에 대해서 K-Pop Squre Media를 중심으로 그 특성을 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위한 연구의 접근은 첫째, 도심의 공공 공간을 중심으로 '공간적 특성'에 대해 케빈린치(Kevin Lynch)의 도시 공간을 구성하는 5가지 요소, 월리엄 미첼(William J. Mitchell)이 제시한 스마트 스페이스와 공간 패러다임의 변화를 중심으로 살펴본다. 둘째, 옥외 광고의 '뉴미디어성'을 중심으로 Digital OOH(Out-Of-Home) Media의 세 가지 유형에 대해 분석하고 셋째, '미디어 파사드의 신기술과 내용구성'에 대해 전시 매체 (프로젝션, LED 스크린)의 유형, 미디어 파사드의 시초, 최신 전시 기술인 아나몰픽(Anamolphic)에 대해 살펴본다. 본 연구를 통해 K-Pop Squre Media는 스마트 스페이스의 공간적 특성, Digital OOH의 뉴미디어 특성, 그리고, 미디어 파사드의 내용 구성을 통해 공공성, 소통성, 예술성, 장소성의 특성을 보이고 있음을 알 수 있다.

The concept of Smart-Homes is becoming more and more popular. It is anticipated that Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) technology will play a major role in such environments. We can find many previously proposed schemes that focus solely on: authentication between the RFID tags and readers, and user privacy protection from malicious readers. There has also been much talk of a very popular RFID application: a refrigerator/bookshelf that can scan and list out the details of its items on its display screen. Realizing such an application is not as straight forward as it seems to be, especially in securely deploying such RFID-based applications in a smart home environment. Therefore this paper describes some of the RFID-based applications that are applicable to smart home environments. We then identify their related privacy and security threats and security requirements and also propose a secure approach, where RFID-tagged consumer items, RFID-reader enabled appliances (e.g., refrigerators), and RFID-based applications would securely interact among one another. At the moment our approach is just a conceptual idea, but it sheds light on very important security issues related to RFID-based applications that are beneficial for consumers.
