In this study, the images of science education illustrated in the books written by six major modern philosophers of science (K. R. Popper, N. R. Hanson, T. S. Kuhn, I. Lakatos, P. Feyerabend and J. Ziman) were investigated. In this article, the parts, from the books investigated, which have direct relevance to science education are quoted and the discussions by the researchers on them are added. Particularly, the learning by trial and error (of Popper), the role of context in scientific thinking (of Hanson), science education through the history of science (of Lakatos), science education appreciating individualities and voluntary curiosity (of Feyerabend) and the social aspect of science as a source of its rationality (of Ziman) appear to be the main points which have direct relevances and meaningful implications to science education but which have not been considered or discussed in detail in science education.

It has been known that Asian Medicine theory are based on yin and yang & Five Phases. but recently many therapist using asian medicine in Korea or another nations, take up the position that it is not inevitable for them to adopt the theory of yin-and-yang & Five Phases when they cure a patient. but the point of this view suggests they can not understand totally the real theory about yin-and-yang & Five Phases. asian image-mathematics based on I-Ching could analysis all things with the natural number. the kernel of understanding on principle of I-Ching is realizing that the standard should be changed in some conditions and the form of cosmos should change endless. the system of all thing under sun is divided in three parts on the asian image-mathematics. the nature number from one to nine is divided in three categories that are grouped as 123, 456, 789. So, if we want to understand Five Phases theory, we suggest that it is useful to know the organic connected relations among Four Images, Five Phases, Six Qi(six kinds of weather). the aim of this paper is to arrive at understanding of profound learning on image-mathematics throughout the number of 4, 5, 6 in the concrete context.

Short-term traffic flow prediction plays an important role in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) in areas such as transportation management, traffic control and guidance. For short-term traffic flow regression predictions, the main challenge stems from the non-stationary property of traffic flow data. In this paper, we design an ensemble cascading prediction framework based on extremely randomized trees (extra-trees) using a boosting technique called EET to predict the short-term traffic flow under non-stationary environments. Extra-trees is a tree-based ensemble method. It essentially consists of strongly randomizing both the attribute and cut-point choices while splitting a tree node. This mechanism reduces the variance of the model and is, therefore, more suitable for traffic flow regression prediction in non-stationary environments. Moreover, the extra-trees algorithm uses boosting ensemble technique averaging to improve the predictive accuracy and control overfitting. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that extra-trees have been used as fundamental building blocks in boosting committee machines. The proposed approach involves predicting 5 min in advance using real-time traffic flow data in the context of inherently considering temporal and spatial correlations. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method achieves higher accuracy and lower variance and computational complexity when compared to the existing methods.
In the Mexican territory the cultural diversity is associated with the environmental diversity, this is demonstrated by the presence of native groups that inhabit the regions of the country, which are characterized by the management of various natural resources that they obtain from the terrestrial and aquatic environments of each of the regions. Through the RECREA Model: complex thinking, information and communication technologies and research-action, complemented with fundamentals of geography, environmental geography, cultural ecology, field work and cartographic information, we explained and analyzed the association between environmental diversity and cultural diversity to demonstrate that in Mexico there are still links between the environment, society and culture, a situation that determines the existence of human groups that subsist in the context of a global capitalist system that extracts in an unsustainable way natural resources. Based on these results, an instructional model is made to put it to practice with international students, in this case from Japan and South Korea, to allow the observation of its functionality in transmitting the aforementioned results on environmental and cultural diversity in Mexico during the teaching-learning process.

Brain plasticity refers to the brain's ability to modify its structure, accompanied by its functional changes. It is influenced by learning, experiences, and dietary factors, even in later life. Accumulated researches have indicated that ginseng may protect the brain and enhance its function in pathological conditions. There is a compelling need for a more comprehensive understanding of ginseng's role in the physiological condition because many individuals without specific diseases seek to improve their health by incorporating ginseng into their routines. This review aims to deepen our understanding of how ginseng affects brain plasticity of people undergoing normal aging process. We provided a summary of studies that reported the impact of ginseng on brain plasticity and related factors in human clinical studies. Furthermore, we explored researches focused on the molecular mechanisms underpinning the influence of ginseng on brain plasticity and factors contributing to brain plasticity. Evidences indicate that ginseng has the potential to enhance brain plasticity in the context of normal aging by mediating both central and peripheral systems, thereby expecting to improve age-related declines in brain function. Moreover, given modern western diet can damage neuroplasticity in the long term, ginseng can be a beneficial supplement for better brain health.
In this paper, we introduce the notion of intelligent communication by introducing a novel intelligent receiver model. This receiver is continually evolving and learns and improves in performance as it compiles its experience over time. In digital communication context, in a typical training mode, it jearns the concept of "1" as is deteriorated by arbitrary (not necessarily additive as is typically assumed) disturbance and /or modulation. After learning "1", in test mode, it classifies the received signal "1" and "0" almost completely. The intelligent receiver as implemented is grounded on the recently introduced Stochastic Morphological Sampling Theorem(SMST), a distribution-free result which gives theoretical bounds on the sample complexity(training size) needed for the required performance parameters such as accuracy($\varepsilon$) and confidence($\delta$). Based on this theorem, we demonstrate --almost irrespective of channel and modulation model-- the number of samples needed to learn the concept of "1" is not too "large" and the resulting universal receiver structure, that corresponding to classical Nearest Neighbor rule in Pattern Recognition Theory, is trivial. We check the surprising efficiency and validity of this model through some simple simulations. and validity of this model through some simple simulations.
The purpose of this paper is to present a qualitative case study on teaching English as an international language in Korean context. The researcher investigated the implementation process of the new elementary English program from the government to local schools to find out to what extent the symbolic value of English as an international language affect the implementation process of the elementary English program. The research result showed that the elementary teachers shared the different views of the status of English from those of government and the parents, and their differing perception of the role of English constantly affected their implementation efforts. The research findings also revealed that the public's concern of English dominance in Korean educational system resulted in the government's 'comprised curriculum' by lowering the learning goals of the English program. The findings also indicated that the introduction of the elementary English program accelerated English dominance in both teacher and student culture. The question of how to resolve the conflict between acquiring English proficiency and its negative influence on Korean culture remains a complex issue in implementing the new elementary English program.

As what exactly understands a meaning of mathematics terms, is a starting point of mathematical thinking, it plays a very important role in the mathematics learning. What understood mathematics terms which were defined here, includes not only the terms of comprising its definition, but also all of the understanding in context, situation, intention and purpose, which came to give its definition. Due to this reason, it needs to be examined how much students are correctly understanding about mathematics terms which appear in the texts, and to seek for its cause for the terms which are felt to be difficult. Accordingly, this study investigated into mathematics terms which are used for the field of geometry in the elementary school mathematics textbooks, and tried to analyze students' understanding level about each term.
The high-throughput sequencing of a lot of genomes has resulted in the relatively rapid accumulation of an enormous amount of genomic sequence data. In this context, the problem posed by the detection of promoters in genomic DNA sequences via computational methods has attracted considerable attention in recent years since exact promoter prediction can give a clue to the elucidation of overall genetic networks. In this study, applications of support vector machine(SVM) to promoter prediction are explored to show a right approaches to discriminate between promoter and non-promoter regions by means of SVM. The results of various experiments show that encoding method, encoding region and learning data constitution can play an important role in the performance of SVM.

Purpose: This study was done to explore the meaning and nature of life world for adolescents with epilepsy. The hermeneutic phenomenological method which was developed by van Manen was used. Methods: Participants were four boys and five girls, ages 13 to 18 being seen in a neurology outpatient department. Data were collected from iterative work with in-depth interviews from during the period from February to September, 2010. Contents of the interviews were tape-recorded with participant consent. Results: Essential themes that fit into the context of the 4 existential grounds of body, time, space and other people were: an illness that makes a hurt in one's heart rather than one's body, a change in the body that is not controllable, a future like thick fog, everyday life trapped in illness, a change of relationships, learning how to live with an illness. Conclusion: Findings reveal the life world of the adolescents is affected to varying degrees by the epilepsy. It is important for nurses to identify and address developmental issues and effects of the illness and to support reorientation in a disintegrated life situation. The result of this study will provide nurses with insights into these experiences and should help promote empathetic care.
