  • This study investigates the effect of work environment-in terms of job demands and job resources-on worker job engagement and burnout based on the JD-R model. The aim is to provide preliminary data to formulate policy and practical measures to strengthen job engagement and prevent burnout of workers at a community children's center. To this end, a self-administered questionnaire was answered by 447 workers at such a center in the city of Daejeon, Korea, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. The research model had a statistically acceptable fit, with CFI = .900, TLI = .887, and RMSEA = .077. The following correlations were found among the key variables: i) a greater perceived amount of job resources led to a stronger worker job engagement but did not directly influence worker burnout; ii) more perceived job demands caused a higher worker burnout but did not directly influence worker job engagement; and iii) the greater the worker job engagement, the less burned out the workers were. These conclusions contribute to understanding the effect of the work environment on worker job engagement and burnout based on the JD-R model. We emphasize the need to improve this environment in community children's centers with supportive policy and practical measures to enhance worker job engagement and reduce burnout.

  • Methods to determine EU(Ⅲ) ion in aqueous solution by fluorescence spectrometry based upon the ligand sensitized fluorescence of Eu(Ⅲ)-terephthalic acid (TPA) complex ion have been studied. The effects of excitation wavelength, pH, concentration of TPA and emission wavelength on the fluorescence intensity were investigated. The fluorescence intensity of the Eu(Ⅲ) complex ion was further increased with addition of trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO). In this case Triton X-100 was used to dissolve TOPO in aqueous solution. The calibration curve for Eu(Ⅲ) was linear over the range from $1.0{\times}10^{-6}M\;to\;4.0{\times}10^{-4}M$ and the detection limit was $1.0{\times}10^{-6}M$ under the experimental conditions of 256 nm, 5.6, $3.5{\times}10^{-4}$M$ and 615 nm for excitation wavelength, pH, concentration of TPA and emission wavelength, respectively. When TOPO was added to the Eu(Ⅲ)-TPA system, the concentration range of linear response and the detection limit were $1.0 {\times}10^{-9}M\;to\;1.0{\times}10^{-4}M,\;1.0{\times}10^{-7}M,$ respectively under the experimental conditions of 284 nm, 4.4 and $1.0{\times} 10^{-4}M$ for excitation wavelength, pH and concentration of TOPO, respectively. Effects of interferences from various cations for the determination of Eu(Ⅲ) ion were also investigated.

  • In this paper, topographic factors over 3-dimensional hills were estimated through wind tunnel tests. Topographic models having five different slopes of $5.71^{\circ}, \;11.31^{\circ},\;16.70^{\circ},\;21.80^{\circ}$, and $26.57^{\circ}$ which were based on Korean Building Code(KBC(2005), were made for wind tunnel tests. From the result of wind tunnel tests, topographic factors over 3-dimensional hills were obtained at various locations, and the ranges of topographic effects were decided. The ranges of topographic effects was whole area of the hills in the horizontal ranges and heights of 3.5 times of the hills in the vortical ranges. Topographic effects was large at the top of hills, and wind velocity was increased 57% over hill of $5.71^{\circ}$, 75% over hill of $11.31^{\circ}$, 79% over hill of $16.70^{\circ}$, 81% over hill of $21.80^{\circ}$, and 61% over hill of $26.57^{\circ}$. Wind velocity was bigger over surface of across-wind direction of hills than one over surface of wind direction of hills, and wind velocity was increased $10{\sim}30%$ at locations of across-wind direction.

  • We applied gemological analytical approaches on Aquamarine from the Gilgit-Baltistan of Northern Areas, Pakistan. The standard gemological testing indicates that they are consistent with general characteristics of natural aquamarines. We have identified the inclusions of Tantalite-Mn by Raman analysis. It indicates that they occurs in association with the veins of Be-rich coarse pegmatite. And the results of chemical analyses, infrared absorption spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy indicate that $H_2O$ molecules in channel mostly exist in Type-I and a little Type-II with low alkali ion. The comparison of relative peak intensity of FT-IR analysis can be used for prediction of $Na_2O$ content within not only emerald but also aquamarine.

  • Objective: The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of shade allocation and shade plus fan on growth performance, dietary energy utilization and carcass characteristics of feedlot cattle under tropical ambient conditions Methods: Two trials were conducted, involving a total of 1,560 young bulls (289±22 kg BW) assigned to 24 pens (65 bulls/pen and 6 pens/treatment). Pens were 585 ㎡ with 15 m fence line feed bunks. Shade treatments (㎡ shade/animal) were: i) limited shade (LS) to 1.2 ㎡ shade/animal (LS1.2); ii) limited shade to 2.4 ㎡ shade/animal (LS2.4); iii) total shade (TS) which correspond to 9 ㎡/animal, and iv) total shade equipped with fans (TS+F). Trials lasted 158 and 183 days. In both studies, the average weekly maximum temperature exceeded 34℃. Results: Increasing shade allocation tended (p = 0.08) to linearly increases average daily gain (ADG), and dry matter intake (DMI, quadratic effect, p = 0.03). This effect was most apparent between LS1.2 and LS2.4. Shade allocation, per se, did not affect gain efficiency or estimated dietary net energy (NE). Compared with TS, TS+F increased (p<0.05) ADG, gain efficiency, and tended (p = 0.06) to increase dietary NE. There was a quadratic effect of shade on longissimus area and marbling score, with values being lower (p<0.01) for LS2.4 than for LS1.2 or TS. Likewise, marbling score was lower for TS+F than for TS. Percentage kidney, pelvic, and heart (KPH) linearly decreased with increasing shade. In contrast, KPH was greater for TS than for TS+F. Conclusion: Providing more than 2.4 ㎡ shade/animal will not further enhance feedlot performance. The use of fans in combination with shade increases ADG and gain efficiency beyond that of shade, alone. These enhancements were not associated with increased DMI, but rather, to an amelioration of ambient temperature humidity index on maintenance energy requirement.

  • C-shaped canal configuration is very difficult to treat because that clues about preoperative canal anatomy cannot be ascertained from clinical crown morphology and limited information can be derived from radiographic examination. This study was done to get more informations about the root and canal configuration of C-shape root by 3-dimensionally reconstructing for the purpose of enhancing success rate of endodontic treatment. 30 mandibular molars with C-shaped root were selected. Six photo images from occlusal, apical, mesial, distal, buccal, lingual directions and radiographic view were taken as preoperative ones to compare them with 3-D image. After crown reduction to the level of 1-2mm over pulpal floor was performed, teeth were stored in 5.25% sodium hypochlorite solution for the removal of pulp tissue and debris. They were cleaned under running water, allowed to bench dry and embedded in a self-curing resin. This resin block was serially ground with a microtome (Accutom-50, Struers, Denmark) and the image of each level was recorded by digital camera (FinePix S1-pro, Fuji Co., Japan). The thickness of each section was 0.25mm. Photographs of serial sections through all root canal were digitized using Adobe Photoshop 5.0 and then minimum thickness of open and closed sites were measured (open site is the surface containing occluso-apical groove closed site is oppsite). After dizitization using 3-D Doctor (Able software Corp, USA). 3D reconstruction of the outer surface of tooth and the inner surface of pulp space was made. Canal classsification of C-shaped roots was performed from this 3-D reconstructed image. The results were as follows : 1. Most C-shape rooted teeth showed lingual groove (28/30). 2 According to Vertuccis' calssification, type I, II, III, IV, VII were observed. but also new canal types suck as 2-3-2, 1-2-3-2. 2-3-2-1, 2-3-2-3 were shown. 3 There was little difference in minimum thickness on coronal and apical portions, but open site were thinner than closed site on mid portion. Conclusively, 3D reconstruction method could make the exact configurations of C-shape root possible to be visualized and analyzed from multi-directions. Data from minimum thickness recommend cleaning and shaping be more carefully done on dangerous mid portion.

  • The success of dental implant therapy relies mainly upon the presence and maintenance of bone adjacent to implant. An 1-year prospective study was performed, upon the patients who were diagnosed as having chronic adult periodontitis, and had been treated with dental implant. The purpose of this study was to measure the radiographic bone level changes proximal to Astra Tech Single Tooth Implants (ATST, Astra Tech AB, $M{\"{o}}lndal$, Sweden) with microthread and Astra Tech TiOblast Implant (ATTB) without microthread supporting fixed partial prosthesis. Measurements were used to determine mean marginal bone loss during the first year of loading, 17 subjects with its partial prosthesis supported by 37 implants were followed up for an 1-year period. The marginal bone loss of implants was positively correlated with the retention factor, microthread($Microthread^{TM}$) in crestal area of ATST. The results were as follows. 1. The mean marginal bone loss of ATST was 0.226${\pm}$0.395mm, while ATTB was 0.440${\pm}$0.360mm. There was a statistically significant difference between ATST and ATTB (p<0.05). 2. The mean bone loss of the upper jaw fixtures was 0.269${\pm}$0.265mm for ATST and 0.529${\pm}$0.417mm for ATTB . There was a statistically significant difference between ATST and ATTB (p<0.05). In the lower jaw the corresponding figures were 0.167${\pm}$0.231mm and 0.313${\pm}$0.214mm, respectively. There was no significant difference between ATST and ATTB (p>0.05). 3. The mean bone loss of ATST was lower than that of ATTB at all sites according to bone quality. There was a statistically significant difference between ATST and ATTB at bone quality type III(p <0.05). In conclusion, the mean bone loss of ATST was smaller than that of ATTB . Therefore, the retention factor of crestal area, microthread ($Microthread^{TM}$) was effective to maintenance of marginal bone level around fixture.

  • B. thuringiensis strain LY-99 belonging to subsp. alesti (H3a3c), was isolated from Chinese tobacco warehouse and showed significantly high toxicity to Plutella xylostella. For the identification of the cry1-type genes from B. thuringiensis LY-99, an extended multiplex PCRrestriction fragment length polymorphism (PCRRFLP) method was established by using two pairs of universal primers based on the conserved regions of the cry1-type genes to amplify around 2.4 kb cry1-type gene fragments. Then the DNA fragment was cloned into pGEM-T Easy vector and digested with EcoRI and EcoRV enzymes. Through this method, a known cry1-type gene was successfully identified from the reference strain, B. thuringiensis subsp. alesti. In addition, the RFLP patterns revealed that B. thuringiensis LY-99 included a novel cry1A-type gene in addition to cry1Aa, cry1Ac, cry1Be and cry1Ea genes. The novel cry1A-type gene was designated cry1Ah2 (Genbank accession No DQ269474). An inverse PCR method was used to amplify the flank regions of cry1Ah2 gene. Finally, 3143 bp HindIII fragment from B. thuringiensis LY-99 plasmid DNA including 5' region and partial ORF was amplified, and sequence analysis revealed that cry1Ah2 gene from LY-99 showed 89.31% of maximum sequence similarity with cry1Ac1 crystal protein gene. In addition, the deduced amino acid sequence of Cry1Ah2 protein shared 87.80% of maximum identity with that of Cry1Ac2. This protein therefore belongs to a new class of B. thuringiensis crystal proteins.

  • We have inquired on what the statistical classes of the secondary schools had been aiming to, say the epistermlogical objects. And we now appreciate that the main obstacle to the systematic articulation is the lack of anticipation on what the statistical concepts are. This study focuses on the ingredients of the statistical concepts. Those are to be the ground of the systematic articulation of statistic courses, especially of the one for the school kids. Thus we required that those ingredients must satisfy the followings. i) directly related to the contents of statistics ii) psychologically developing iii) mutually exclusive each other as much as possible iv) exhaustive enough to cover all statistical concepts We examined what and how statisticians had been doing and the various previous views on these. After all we suggest the following three concepts are the core of conceptual developments of statistic, say the concept of distributions, the summarizing ability and the concept of samples. By the concepts of distributions we mean the frequency views on each random categories and that is developing from the count through the probability along ages. Summarizing ability is another important resources to embed his probe with the data set. It is not only viewed as a number but also to be anticipated as one reflecting a random phenomena. Inductive generalization is one of the most hazardous thing. Statistical induction is a scientific way of challenging this and this starts from distinguishing the chance with the inevitable consequences. One's inductive logic grows up along with one's deductive arguments, nevertheless they are different. The concept of samples reflects' one's view on the sample data and the way of compounding one's logic with the data within one's hypothesis. With these three in mind we observed Korean Statistic Curriculum from K to 12. Distributional concepts are dealt with throughout but not sequenced well. The way of summarization has been introduced in the 1 st, 5th, 7th and the 10th grade as a numerical value only. One activity on the concept of sample is given at the 6th grade. And it jumps into the statistical reasoning at the selective courses of ' Mathematics I ' or of ' Probability and Statistics ' in the grades of 11-12. We want to suggest further studies on the developing stages of these three conceptual features so as to obtain a firm basis of successive statistical articulation.

  • Recently the effect of CPP-ACP on early caries remineralization and prevention has hashbeen extensively researched. However, there has been a lack of research on micro-shear bond strength of a sealant applied on a CPP-ACP treated surface. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of CPP-ACP on the micro-shear bond strength of a sealant bonded with 3 different bonding systems. From the sound human 3rd molars, the 150 specimens were prepared and randomly assigned to six groups. Group I: Immersion in artificial saliva for 2 weeks + 35% phosphoric acid Group II: Immersion in artificial saliva for 2 weeks + 35% phosphoric acid + dentin bonding agent Group III: Immersion in artificial saliva for 2 weeks + self-etching adhesive Group IV: CPP-ACP application for 2 weeks + 35% phosphoric acid Group V: CPP-ACP application for 2 weeks + 35% phosphoric acid + dentin bonding agent Group VI: CPP-ACP application for 2 weeks + self-etching adhesive Sealant was applied and the micro-shear bond strength was measured. From the result of this study, it can be assumed that the CPP-ACP pretreatment can weaken the bond strength of a sealant if the enamel surface is conditioned with self-etch adhesive.
