The Flashover Characteristics of Test Electrodes against Clearance of Air Insulation for 765kV Transmission Line (765kV급 송전선로 공기절연거리 설정을 위한 시험전극의 섬락전압 특성)

  • For the purpose of rational design of air insulation, it is need to experiment with similar to real shape test object and conform the characterisics. But basic distances of air insulation of transmission line, tower, etc. can be acquired from flashover characteristic of rod-rod, rod-plane electrodes. In this paper, before field test of 765kV transmission line for determination of distances of phase to ground insulation, we execute lightning, switching impulse test with test electrod(rod-rod, rod-plane) against clearances of air insulation. Each tests use up-down method and consist of 30 times flashover test. Flashover data treatment program and air correction program following IEC 60-1(1987) standard were completely builted.

A Study on Analysis of Intake Flow in a 5-valves Gasoline Engine by using a Two Color PIV System (이색 PIV를 이용한 5밸브 가솔린 엔진의 흡입 유동 해석)

  • A 5-valve(intake 3-valve) engine has been developed to increase engine performance. These vehicles have a high power caused by the decrease of inertia mass of an intake valve and the increase of intake effective area. In this study, velocity profiles at near intake valves were inspected by using a two-color PIV and laser sheet method with tumble control valve(TCV). In addition, steady flow tests were performed to quantify tumble ratio on flow-fields generated with a TCV. These experimental results show that the tendency of the tunble ratio in intake 3-valve engine is different from the one in intake 2-valve engine. From this results, the intake flow characteristics around intake valves were made clear.

Identification of Rigid Body Properties of the Mounted Structure with Improved Mass-Lines from Impact Hammer Tests (탄성지지된 구조물의 충격 햄머 실험에서 질량선의 개선을 통한 향상된 강체 특성 규명법)

  • There are many researches to identify the rigid body properties from the mass-line obtained by impact hammer testing. The correct rigid body properties of the structure may be estimated if the mass-line of the structure could be obtained exactly. When the structure is mounted by elastic materials, the mass-line cannot be read correctly from the impulse response spectrum. The reason is due to the effects of rigid body modes of mounted structure. In this paper, the effects of rigid body modes of mounted structure to the mass-line are discussed and the method to remove these effects is also presented.

  • To reduce the transmission of large gun-generated noise from the firing test range to the community, we have tested a silencer to be used with howitzer(155mm KM114A2) after simulation. Numerical analysis was conducted by using a commercial CFD code, FLUENT. To analyze complex blast flow fields, the Spalart-Allmaras model was applied under 2 dimensional and axisymmetric conditions. Firing tests were also performed with the KM114A2 howitzer while the silencer was installed. This paper describes a result of comparison between results of computer analysis and test outcomes which were gotten by firing 155mm projectiles at the testing range. This paper will also be informative to the muffler design which will be adapted to 155mm large gun in the future.

  • The dynamic characteristics of composite tool bars depend on the clamping conditions such as clamping force, stiffness and surface characteristics of clamping parts as well as the basic structures. Therefore, in this work, the effects of clamping part conditions on the dynamic characteristics of cantilever type composite machine tool structures with clamped joint were investigated because the cantilever type machine tool structures are ideal cases for composite application to increase the natural frequency and damping of structures. New design of the clamping part was developed in order to improve shear properties of the clamping part and dynamic characteristics of composite tool bars. From FE analysis and Impulse response tests, dynamic characteristics were obtained with respect to the clamping part conditions of the new design.

  • This paper aims to extract the air clearance in 22.9KV the metal enclosed switchgear. First, we investigated the actual conditions on the clearance in the metal enclosed switchgear which has been used in domestic. The test model and 9 test electrodes for the air insulation strength tests have been designed and manufactured based on the investigation results. To find optimal clearance in the metal enclosed switchgear, we performed 50% flash-over test by the up and down method and lightning impulse withstand voltage test. And we obtained results that the clearance or phase-to-phase is 230 [mm] and clearance or phase-to-earth is 210[mm].

  • This paper described the verification of modeling technique of underground distribution from comparison between field test and simulation. It needs more exact transient phenomenon analysis model to establish lightning protection of underground distribution line. Although, there were a lot of transient phenomenon researches, nobody could has verified the confidence of modeling from field tests in interior until now. So, simulation model verified field test is needed to analyse transient phenomenon of underground distribution system. The examination must be accomplished in many different condition before suggesting these verified analysis model. In this paper, the conditions were examined and the various data results on the different line composition was compared with the EMTP simulation, when the lightning impulse test was accomplished at underground distribution line. Also the value between field test and simulation was very closed and the method of modeling has demonstrated confidence, when the method is used to analyse domestic transient phenomenon of underground distribution.

Dynamic Response Assessment of Space Use Telescope (우주용 광학구조체의 진동응답 평가)

  • The dynamic responses of a telescope loaded on an STSAT-3 satellite were analyzed, and environmental tests were conducted to verify the reliability of the design. The space use telescope COMIS (compact imaging spectrometer) is a major payload of the STSAT-3 launched on November 21, 2013. Vibration responses such as the acceleration, displacement, and velocity with respect to random vibration and shock impulse inputs were obtained based on theoretical fundamentals in conjunction with finite element analysis. The main focus of this study was on developing technology for accurate and/or favorable modeling and analysis of the structure and fitting the results to that of experiments. Cutting-edge technology for manipulating the vibrations of a space use telescope is suggested.

  • The notched Charpy and Izod impact tests arc the most prevalent techniques used to characterize the effects of high impulse loads on ploymeric materials. An analysis method for rubber toughened PVC is suggested to evaluate critical strain energy release rates(Gc) from the Charpy impact energy measurements. An Instrumented Charpy impact tester was used to extract ancillary information concerning fracture properties in addition to total fracture properties and maximum critical loads. The stress intensity factor Kd was computed for varying amounts of rubber contents from the obtained maximum critical loads and also toughening effects were investigated as well.
