  • The Korean dairy sector has experienced the negative impact with the market liberalization for dairy products as a result of the UR Agreement on Agriculture. Futhermore the current WTO DDA agricultural negotiation seems to make the greater negative impact on the Korean dairy sector. It is because that the ongoing negotiations on agriculture will likely result in further reductions of domestic support as well as reduction of tariffs and expansion of the market access. Therefore it's time for us to prepare the effective measures coping with the movement of the further dairy market liberalization. The main purpose of the study is to summarize and illustrate some of the major issues in the current WTO negotiation on agriculture. Also the paper presents some policy implications and missions so as to minimize the negative impacts of agricultural trade liberalization on the Korean dairy sector.

  • The thermal signature of nucleation process is characterized by the induction time, the degree of supercooling, and the equilibrium temperature depression. The initiation of nucleation presents stochastic characteristics. The factors that affect nucleation are mechanical impact, ionic concentration, mineral surface characters, and pore size. Hydrate-bearing sediments behave mechanically like other cemented sediments. The data set has important implications for the calibration and interpretation of geophysical measurements and downhole logs collected in gas hydrate provinces, providing particular insight for the interpretation of P- and S-wave data and resistivity logs. In addition, laboratory formation history and ensuing pore-scale spatial distribution likely have a more pronounced effect on the macroscale mechanical properties of hydrate-bearing sediments

  • This study was conducted to suggest implications of pest management system for agrarian improvement institute. We analyzed the informations about the pest management by listening to opinion of farmers and researchers including Rural Development Administration (RDA) and it's affliated organization. In result, They evaluated that the agriculture development institutes very well progressed pest management researches in principle. However, some chronic bottleneck problems still existed such as pesticides resistant pests, lack of effective control methods. For designing proper direction, these problems should be considerated preferently.

  • Recently, we have witnessed a host of emerging tools in the management support systems (MSS) area including the data warehouse/multidimensinal databases (MDDB), data mining, on-line analytical processing (OLAP), intelligent agents, World Wide Web(WWW) technologies, the Internet, and corporate intranets. These tools are reshaping MSS developments in organizations. This article reviews a set of emerging data management technologies in the knowledge discovery in databases(KDD) process and analyzes their implications for decision support. Furthermore, today's MSS are equipped with a plethora of AI techniques (artifical neural networks, and genetic algorithms, etc) fuzzy sets, modeling by example , geographical information system(GIS), logic modeling, and visual interactive modeling (VIM) , All these developments suggest that we are shifting the corporate decision making paradigm form information-driven decision making in the1980s to knowledge-driven decision making in the 1990s.

  • Over the past three decades, services have become the largest part of most industrialized nations' economies but it is the least-studied part of the economy. One approach is to develop a general theory of service with well-defined questions, tools, methods, and practical implications of society. The purpose of this study was to propose a service systems model to systematically approach a service research. For this purpose, we conducted literature review about business model and extant service systems researches. Based on a literature review, we propose a service systems model that comprises value proposition, participants, shared information/knowledge, organizational capability, value network, and technology. Implications for practice and recommendations for additional research were discussed.

  • This article inspected 16 game rating systems in the world to find out the trends of those. Mainly the perspective of freedom of expression is used to find out the implications of the trends. As the position of game becomes higher, the increase of game specialty rating institutions, the augmentation of self regulations rating institutions, the enlargement of freedom of expression in the area of game are revealed as trends. These trends are in the natural order of events that match with the development of game. We could know that rapid change and innovation is much needed.

  • Regarding the study in innovation/R&D programs evaluation, twelve cases from the U.S ., U. K., Germany, France, Sweden, Australia, Japan, and EC are analyzed, and its implications to Korean situation are investigated. From the analysis of the cases, some valuable guidelines for Korea are developed. Some of the guidelines are: the evaluation must be treated as an integral part of the Government supported programs, specialists in evaluation should be raised, the long-term effects and non-economic/social effects should also be included in the evaluation, various efforts to acquire more exact and versatile information necessary for quality evaluation should be made, and additional effort is required for the evaluation to be actualized.

  • This study had two major purposes: 1) to establish a quantitative measure of the overall restaurant attractiveness for each of the selected restaurants. 2) to examine the implications of the findings from the above concerning the operating initiatives necessary to improve the restaurant attractiveness. A multi attribute model was employed to obtain a numerical index of the attractiveness for each of the three fast food restaurants. It was found that certain of the attributes selected were clearly established as determinant variables(p<0.05). The research plotted the location of Attributes on a graph where the axes are the salience and importance scores to indicate approximate positions in four cells. Finally, the implications of these findings concering marketing and develpment initiatives to improve the perceptual attractiveness of the three fast food restaurant1.s are discussed.

  • In an effort to find ways to improve the potential usefulness of the cataloging practices in Korea, the general purposes of the catalog use studies and their implications are discussed. The summary of applicable methods of catalog use studies is followed by an overview of several actual investigations carried out in' various institutions mainly in U.S. Some of the outstanding and specific findings from these research projects as well as reports from other published papers are provided for points to be concerned, analyzed, and compared for future investigative efforts. The need for an evaluative study of the catalog card contents and arrangement is suggested in view of the Korean people who use it with different background and circumstances compared with Anglo-American tradition.
