  • This work presents a study on development of a practical and quantitative technique for assessment of the healthy state of a structure by piezoelectric impedance-based technique associated with longitudinal wave propagation measuring method. A truss structure embedded with piezoelectric patches is investigated for a fundamental study on estimation of the looseness of bolts in the joint. A Communicationless PCC Voltage Compensation Using an Improved Droop Control Scheme in Islanding Microgrids

  • This paper proposes a point of common coupling (PCC) voltage compensation method for islanding microgrids using an improved power sharing control scheme among distributed generators (DGs) without communication. The PCC voltage compensation algorithm is implemented in the droop control scheme to reduce the PCC voltage deviation produced by the droop controller itself and the voltage drop on the line impedance. The control scheme of each individual DG unit is designed to use only locally measured feedback variables and an obtained line impedance to calculate the PCC voltage. Therefore, traditional voltage measurement devices installed at the PCC as well as communication between the PCC and the DGs are not required. The proposed control scheme can maintain the PCC voltage amplitude within an allowed range even to some extent assuming inaccurate line impedance parameters. In addition, it can achieve proper power sharing in islanding microgrids. Experimental results obtained under accurate and inaccurate line impedances are presented to show the performance of the proposed control scheme in islanding microgrids.

  • 본 논문에서는 근거리에서 효율 향상을 위해 적응 주파수 제어 회로를 갖는 HF-대역 무선 전력 전송 시스템을 제안하였다. 일반적으로 무선 전력 전송 시스템은 공진기 간의 이격 거리가 가까워짐에 따라 결합 계수가 변하게 되며, 이는 반사 임피던스에 의한 임피던스 부정합을 발생시킨다. 본 연구에서 제안한 방식은 전압제어 발진기의 공진 주파수를 이격 거리에 따라 자동으로 가변함으로써 공진기 간의 거리가 가까워 임피던스 부정합이 큰 경우에도 전송 효율의 저하를 막을 수 있다. 적응 주파수 제어 회로는 방향성 결합기, 검파기 및 루프 필터로 구성된다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법의 유용성을 입증하기 위하여 HF-대역에서 동작하는 30${\times}$30 $cm^2$ 크기의 루프 안테나를 갖는 무선 전력 전송 시스템을 설계하여 측정한 결과 근거리에서 효율이 개선됨을 확인하였다.

  • The analysis of distribution line faults is essential to the proper protection of power system. A high impedance fault(HIF) dose not make enough current to cause conventional protective device operating, so it is well known that undesirable operating conditions and certain types of faults on electric distribution feeders cannot be detected by using conventional protection system. In this paper, we prove that the nature of the high impedance faults is indeed a deterministic chaos, not a random motion. Algorithms for estimating Lyapunov spectrum and the largest Lyapunov exponent are applied to various fault currents detections in order to evaluate the orbital instability peculiar to deterministic chaos dynamically, and fractal dimensions of fault currents which represent geometrical self-similarity are calculated. Wavelet transform analysis is applied the time-scale information to fault signal. Time-scale representation of high impedance faults can detect easily and localize correctly the fault waveform.

  • 일반 산업용 로봇의 위치정밀도는 $100{\mu}m$ 정도임에 반해, 정밀부품의 조립공차는 수십 ${\mu}m$ 이내이다. 또한, 조립공차가 작을 경우 미소한 위치/각도 오차에 의해 재밍 또는 웨징이 쉽게 발생하며, 위치제어 기반의 로봇인 경우 부품 조립 시 접촉력을 적절히 조절하지 못하여 조립물이 파손될 가능성이 크다 이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위하여 접촉력에 능동적으로 반응할 수 있는 힘제어 기반의 로봇조립에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 산업용 로봇에 적용하기 용이하도록 위치제어 기반의 머니퓰레이터에 힘제어를 적용할 수 있는 시스템을 구현하였다. 머니퓰레이터에 어드미턴스 필터를 이용한 임피던스 제어를 적용하여 안정적인 접촉운동을 구현하였다. 또한, 임피던스 제어와 blind 검색을 적용하여 정밀부품을 조립할 수 있음을 검증하였다.

  • Generally, a proportional-resonant controller is used to eliminate steady-state errors during the voltage-current control of a double-conversion uninterruptible power supply (UPS) in a stationary reference frame. Additionally, the feed-forward control compensating for the load current, which can be considered a disturbance of the voltage controller, can be used to improve the disturbance rejection performance. However, during the parallel operation of UPSs, circulating current can occur between UPS modules when performing both feed-forward control and droop control because feed-forward control reduces the circulating current impedance. This study proposes a feed-forward compensation technique that considers the impedance of circulating current. An additional feed-forward compensation technique is developed to enhance the disturbance rejection performance. The validity of the proposed feed-forward compensation technique is verified by the experiment results of the parallel operation of a 500 W double-conversion UPS module.

  • A CUSUM control chart was used to monitor semiconductor plasma equipment. The performance of plasma monitoring was evaluated with various combinations of design variables involved in CUCUM control chart. Experimental data collected by using a real-time matching monitoring system include electrical positions of impedance and phase positions, and reflected power. The evaluation revealed that by determining specific design variables plasma states could be more strictly monitored.

  • In this paper, we designed and fabricated the variable impedance line by using the DGS(Defected Ground Structure) which is useful in mounting the external lumped elements. Also we used a varactor diode as Control device stuff at the proposed variable impedance line. We are able to change the impedance of transmission line as varied the capacitance of varactor diode by adjusting DC bias. The impedance variation of the proposed DGS line is about maximum 70 Ω. We will study about the application of DAM(Direct antenna modulation) in the future work.

  • In this paper, we have examined the impedance characteristics of a tipper link of human being in a positioning motion. Firstly, we have shown the characteristics of the human arm using a bilinear model. From the bilinear model, we have observed that both the driving torque of the forearm and the visco-elasticity of the elbow joint can be controlled by muscles, respectively. Then, we have defined several indexes to show the impedance characteristics. Using the proposed indexes, we have examined the impedance characteristics in the positioning operation. As a result, we can not observe the difference of the impedance characteristics, even if the ease of the positioning motion is varied.
