Individuals with visual impairments face numerous challenges in their daily lives, with navigating streets and public spaces being particularly daunting. The inability to identify safe crossing locations and assess the feasibility of crossing significantly restricts their mobility and independence. Globally, an estimated 285 million people suffer from visual impairment, with 39 million categorized as blind and 246 million as visually impaired, according to the World Health Organization. In Saudi Arabia alone, there are approximately 159 thousand blind individuals, as per unofficial statistics. The profound impact of visual impairments on daily activities underscores the urgent need for solutions to improve mobility and enhance safety. This study aims to address this pressing issue by leveraging computer vision and deep learning techniques to enhance object detection capabilities. Two models were trained to detect objects: one focused on street crossing obstacles, and the other aimed to search for objects. The first model was trained on a dataset comprising 5283 images of road obstacles and traffic signals, annotated to create a labeled dataset. Subsequently, it was trained using the YOLOv8 and YOLOv5 models, with YOLOv5 achieving a satisfactory accuracy of 84%. The second model was trained on the COCO dataset using YOLOv5, yielding an impressive accuracy of 94%. By improving object detection capabilities through advanced technology, this research seeks to empower individuals with visual impairments, enhancing their mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

Recently, the use of media has become a daily life due to Covid-19, and education using media has expanded for teenagers. The purpose of this study is to empirically verify how media usage characteristics affect social relationships and school adaptation through the self-efficiency and immersion of teenagers at the youth education site. This study was collected and distributed questionnaires to 250 high school students in Seoul from November 14 to November 21, 2020. The results of the study were derived with a total of 249 questionnaires, excluding one missing questionnaire, and the hypothesis was verified using a Covariance Structure Analysis. Research has shown that, first, the existing, individual, and utility among the characteristics of using youth media have a significant effect on self-efficiency, respectively. Second, only entertainment among the characteristics of youth media use was found to have a significant effect on immersion. Third, immersion has a significant definition effect on school adaptation, and self-efficiency has been shown to have a definition impact on social relationships. Based on this study, we believe that it will be used as a fundamental resource for the development of youth media usage and policy direction in the age of the ever-changing Covid-19.
Temperature-dependent development models for Hydrochara affinis were built to estimate the ecological parameters as fundamental research for monitoring the impact of climate change on rice paddy ecosystems in South Korea. The models predicted the number of lifecycles of H. affinis using the daily mean temperature data collected from four regions (Cheorwon, Dangjin, Buan, Haenam) in different latitudes. The developmental rate of each life stage linearly increased as the temperature rose from 18℃ to 30℃. The goodness-of-fit did not significantly differ between the models of each life stage. Unlike the optimal temperature, the estimated thermal limits of development were considerably different among the models. The number of generations of H. affinis was predicted to be 3.6 in a high-latitude region (Cheorwon), while the models predicted this species to have 4.3 generations in other regions. The results of this study can be useful to provide essential information for estimating climate change effects on lifecycle variations of H. affinis and studies on biodiversity conservation in rice fields.

It is more important than ever to have talent with innovative capacities for sustainable agriculture and rural areas, but adolescents's interest in and understanding of agriculture and rural areas is very low. Therefore, this study analyzed the experiences of participants in the Agriculture Career Exploration Activities Program. and suggests strategies to improve and revitalize agricultural education based on these findings. First, Institutions and facilities that run agricultural education programs need opportunities for self-checks. Second, it is necessary to develop various contents and its distribution channels to enable the experience related to it in daily life. Third, it is important to provide experience in the middle school curriculum, which requires the use of a system such as the Free Semester System. Fourth, education and promotion to parents and teachers is also important, as it has a direct impact on youth's perception of it.
As the use of robots in service area increases, research has been conducted to replace human tasks in daily life with robots. Among them, this study focuses on the tidy-up task on a desk using a robot arm. The order in which tidy-up motions are carried out has a great impact on the success rate of the task. Therefore, in this study, a neural network-based method for determining the priority of the tidy-up motions from the input image is proposed. Reinforcement learning, which shows good performance in the sequential decision-making process, is used to train such a task planner. The training process is conducted in a virtual tidy-up environment that is configured the same as the actual tidy-up environment. To transfer the learning results in the virtual environment to the actual environment, the input image is preprocessed into a segmented image. In addition, the use of a neural network that excludes unnecessary tidy-up motions from the priority during the tidy-up operation increases the success rate of the task planner. Experiments were conducted in the real world to verify the proposed task planning method.

This paper on the socioeconomic role of One Dollar Campaign project initiated by Rwanda Diaspora in the reconstruction of the country after 1994 genocide against Tutsi tends to show how Rwanda Diaspora contributes to the socioeconomic development of their home country. The 1994 genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda has destroyed the country and the Rwandan society; and rebuilding the trust, unity, hope and socioeconomic status of genocide survivors in particular and of all Rwandans in general had to engage all Rwandans wherever they were. The focus of this paper is to assess the change on socioeconomic status of the beneficiaries of the one dollar campaign project initiated by Rwanda Diaspora which aimed to help genocide survivor orphans to have a shelter. The results showed that the amount of money contributed by Rwanda Diaspora for this project is of paramount importance as it exerts a positive impact on genocide orphan survivors' daily life, change of their socioeconomic status and to the country's development in general.
This research focuses on analyzing how leisure satisfaction of line dance participating middle-aged and old women impacts on self esteem and quality of life. By identifying the relationship between these factors, benefit of line dancing by middle-aged and old women will be confirmed. The result of this study are as follows. First, group participating in 2 hour class of line dancing had highest leisure satisfaction. Secondly, in analyzing the effect of leisure satisfaction on self-esteem, health factor was the only sub-factor of leisure satisfaction to impact self-esteem. Thirdly, in analyzing the effect of leisure satisfaction on quality of life, health factor was the only sub-factor of leisure satisfaction to have effect on quality of life sub-factors, such as daily life satisfaction, emotional satisfaction, and environmental satisfaction. Fourthly, self-esteem also directly affects quality of life. Since health factor of leisure satisfaction directly affected self-esteem and quality of life, a causal relationship can be seen between the three variables: leisure satisfaction, self-esteem, and life quality.
The security law and security industry of Japan have a great impact on Korea. In a modern sense, there are little large disparities between the two nations in the history and development of private security. However, the way they look at private security is not the same in large part. In Japan, private security companies are highly regarded by Japanese people as organizations that guarantee their safety, owing to the efforts of private security companies themselves, the National Security Association and civic groups. Private security has especially been approved and supported since it was decided in the anticrime cabinet council in December, 2003, in line with the action plan for the realization of anticrime society to boost private security as an industry to ensure people's safety in daily routine life by curbing crimes that might pose a threat to peaceful life. Afterwards, there has been a dynamic collaboration between the Japanese police and private security in terms of education, crime prevention, disaster prevention/restoration and everyday life safety. As for Korea, the necessity of cooperation between private security and the police is increasingly stressed, and it's required to strengthen their partnership to ensure successful crime prevention in consideration of Japanese partnership cases. In Japan, the police, civic groups, the security association and security companies make every effort to satisfy Japanese people's safety needs in diverse ways and take disaster-prevention measures as well.
Objectives: Air pollution is a growing concern in Korea because of transboundary air pollution from mainland China. A panel study was conducted to clarify the effects of air pollution on respiratory symptoms and health-related quality of life (HR-QoL) in outpatients with and without chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Korea. Methods: Patients filled out a questionnaire including self-reported HR-QoL in February and were followed up in May and July. The study was conducted from 2013 to 2015, with different participants each year. Air quality parameters were applied in a generalized estimating equation as independent variables to predict factors affecting HR-QoL. Results: Lower physical fitness scores were associated with Asian sand dust events. Daily activity scores were worse when there were high concentrations of particulate matter (PM) less than $10{\mu}m$ in diameter ($PM_{10}$). Lower social functioning scores were associated with high PM less than $2.5{\mu}m$ in diameter and nitrogen dioxide ($NO_2$) concentrations. High $NO_2$ concentrations also showed a significant association with mental health scores. Weather-related cough was prevalent when $PM_{10}$, $NO_2$, or ozone ($O_3$) concentrations were high, regardless of COPD severity. High $PM_{10}$ concentrations were associated with worsened wheezing, particularly in COPD patients. Conclusions: The results suggest that PM, $NO_2$, and $O_3$ cause respiratory symptoms leading to HR-QoL deterioration. While some adverse effects of air pollution appeared to occur regardless of COPD, others occurred more often and more intensely in COPD patients. The public sector, therefore, needs to consider tailoring air pollution countermeasures to people with different conditions to minimize adverse health effects.
