  • In the 21th century, everyone feels that the multimedia system is close at hand in real life due to the rapid advance of the computer processing ability and high speed and high guality of communication services. Also the limited frequencies resource will be optimized due to rapid advances in digital video technology which is believed superior to analogue technology in information engineering. MEPG-2 has been introduced for broadcasting use such as digital TV Thus it features the high-definition and hyper-low bit rate. But, because of much throughput it has been implemented by high-priced private ASIC chip and is not in general use yet. But in this research, noticing the rapid enhancement of PC processor performance comparing with the price. MPEG-2 was developed by real time software MPEG-2 had been known impossible to implement with S/W, but the research proved the possibility of the S/W implementation and below are the pictures also in the research was improved 'Motion Vector and Compensation' Algorithm which requires the most operations and UT was made possible real time process. Multimedia Info Society has settled and accompanied by the rapid advance of image-processing technology and lots of standards.

국내 오프셋 인쇄물 평가를 위한 최적의 Proofing 조건에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimal Proofing Conditions for Evaluation of the Domestic Offset Prints)

  • Because of high demand of color quality of the prints, proof prints are more important for end-user to predict and correct the final prints directly as an intermediate. Thus, proof prints can be used as a reference to take minimum ${\Delta}E^*ab$between the originals and finals in the field. The advantage of proof prints is to predict and correct color easily through the RIP(Raster Image Processor) without printing plates and plate making steps. While, it is thought that the proof systems are almost equivalent to the press in the past, present proof systems are more simple to take proof prints more easily due to the automation and digitalization. This paper addresses a method to perform an accurate profiling according to proof paper types and find optimal proof papers which meet proofing requirement. Although proof papers are matched with ISO 12647-7, we were trying to reduce ${\Delta}E^*ab$, In addition to the above, through the Gamut Mapping and Iteration, We were trying to find optimal proofing conditions.

센서 구성을 고려한 비전 기반 차선 감지 시스템 개발 (Development of A Vision-based Lane Detection System with Considering Sensor Configuration Aspect)

  • Vision-based lane sensing systems require accurate and robust sensing performance in lane detection. Besides, there exists trade-off between the computational burden and processor cost, which should be considered for implementing the systems in passenger cars. In this paper, a stereo vision-based lane detection system is developed with considering sensor configuration aspects. An inverse perspective mapping method is formulated based on the relative correspondence between the left and right cameras so that the 3-dimensional road geometry can be reconstructed in a robust manner. A new monitoring model for estimating the road geometry parameters is constructed to reduce the number of the measured signals. The selection of the sensor configuration and specifications is investigated by utilizing the characteristics of standard highways. Based on the sensor configurations, it is shown that appropriate sensing region on the camera image coordinate can be determined. The proposed system is implemented on a passenger car and verified experimentally.

CONSTRUCTION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL RADON MONITORING SYSTEM USING CR-39 NUCLEAR TRACK DETECTORS

  • An environmental radon monitoring system, comprising a radon-cup, an etching system, and a track counting system, was constructed. The radon cup is a cylindrical chamber with a radius of 2.2 cm and a height of 3.2 cm in combination with a CR-39 detector. Carbon is impregnated in the bodies of the detector chamber to avoid problem of an electrostatic charge. The optimized etching condition for the CR-39 exposed to a radon environment turned out to be a 6 N NaOH solution at 70^{\circ}$ over a 7hour period. The bulk etch rate under the optimized condition was $1.14{\pm}0.03\;{\mu}m\;h^{-1}$. The diameter of the tracks caused by radon and its progeny were found to be in the range of $10\~25\;{\mu}m$ under the optimized condition. The track images were observed with a track counting system, which consisted of an optical microscope, a color charged couple device (CCD) camera, and an image processor. The calibration factor of this system is obtained to be $0.105{\pm}0.006$ tracks $cm^2$ per Bq $m^{-3}$ d.

위성 탑재 영상레이다의 온보드 데이터 압축을 위한 비정수배 데시메이션 필터 최적화 설계 기법 (Optimization Design of Non-Integer Decimation Filter for Compressing Satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar On-board Data)

  • The on-board processor of satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) digitizes the back-scattered echoes and transmits them to the ground. As satellite SAR image of various operating conditions including broadband and high resolution is required, an enormous amount of SAR data is generated. Decimation filter is used for data compression to improve the transmission efficiency of these data. Decimation filter is implemented with the FIR(Finite Impulse Response) filter and here, the decimation ratio and tap length are constrained by resource requirements of FPGA used for implementation. This paper suggests to use a non-integer ratio decimation filter in order to optimize the data transmission efficiency. Also, it proposes a filter design method that remarkably reduces the resource constraints of the FPGA in-use via applying a polyphase filter structure. The required resources for implementing the proposed filter is analysed in this paper.

  • 화재로 인해 많은 물적 인적 피해가 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 영상처리기법과 고속의 DSP 프로세서 기술 그리고 IT 기술을 활용하여 발화 초기에 화재를 인식하고 경보를 발생하여 화재에 조기 대응하는 화재 검출 알고리즘을 실장한 지능형 화재검출 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 지능형 시스템의 화재 검출 알고리즘은 화염검출과 연기검출 알고리즘으로 구성되어진다. 화염 또는 연기만 발생하는 경우에는, 각각의 경보를 관리용 컴퓨터에 전송한다. 화염과 연기가 동시에 발생하면 화재경보를 발생하도록 하였다. 다양한 환경에서의 실제 실험을 통해 오작동 없이 잘 동작하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents the performance and problems in analysis method and testing system of Electronic Speckle Pattern Interfermetry(ESPI) method, in measuring two-dimensional in- plane displacement. The analysis result of measurement by ESPI is quite comparable to that of measurement by strain gauge method. This implieds that the method of ESPI is a very effective tool in non-contact two-dimensional in-plane strain analysis. But there is a controversial point, measurement error. This error is discussed to be affected not by ESPI method itself, but by its analysis scheme of the interference fringe, where the first-order interpolation has been applied to the points of strain measured. Further development of advanced first-order interpolation method is being undertaken for the more precise in-plane strain measurement.

Developing and Evaluating Deep Learning Algorithms for Object Detection: Key Points for Achieving Superior Model Performance

  • In recent years, artificial intelligence, especially object detection-based deep learning in computer vision, has made significant advancements, driven by the development of computing power and the widespread use of graphic processor units. Object detection-based deep learning techniques have been applied in various fields, including the medical imaging domain, where remarkable achievements have been reported in disease detection. However, the application of deep learning does not always guarantee satisfactory performance, and researchers have been employing trial-and-error to identify the factors contributing to performance degradation and enhance their models. Moreover, due to the black-box problem, the intermediate processes of a deep learning network cannot be comprehended by humans; as a result, identifying problems in a deep learning model that exhibits poor performance can be challenging. This article highlights potential issues that may cause performance degradation at each deep learning step in the medical imaging domain and discusses factors that must be considered to improve the performance of deep learning models. Researchers who wish to begin deep learning research can reduce the required amount of trial-and-error by understanding the issues discussed in this study.

음성 신호 시간축 변환의 실시간 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on Real-time Implementing of Time-Scale Modification)

  • 본 논문에서는 음성 신호가 가지고 있는 중요한 특성을 유지하면서 발음 속도만을 변화시키는 시간축 변환 방법을 범용 디지탈 신호 처리 프로세서를 이용하여 실시간으로 구현하였다. 음성 신호 시간축 변환은 음성 신호의 발음 속도만을 변화시키기 때문에, 입력 신호와 변환 신호간의 시간적 차이가 발생하여 실시간 처리가 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 입력, 변환 신호간의 시간차를 해결하기 위해서, 카세트 테이프 레코더의 모터 회전 속도를 조절하는 것과 같은 물리적 시간축 변환으로, 입력 음성 신호를 느리게 또는 빠르게 변환시켜 그 신호를 실시간 시스템의 입력으로 사용하였다. 카세트 레코더의 주행 속도만을 조절하는 물리적 변환은 원 신호의 피치 정보를 왜곡시켜, 원 음성의 특성을 변화시키기 때문에, 본 연구에서는 FIR 필터를 이용한 피치 보정 기법으로 왜곡된 신호를 원신호로 복원한 후, SOLA 시간축 변환 방법을 이용하여, 복원된 신호를 카세트 레코더의 모터 속도에 맞추어 시간축으로 변환하는 시스템을 실시간으로 구현하였다. 구현된 알고리듬으로 음성 신호를 시간축으로 변환하는 실험에서, 16비트 해상도를 가진 ADSP2101 프로세서로 구현한 결과와 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과를 비교할 때 평균 구간 신호 대 오차비가 대략 20dB로 두 결과가 거의 유사함을 알 수 있었다.

DGPS와 Motion Sensor를 이용한 선박 동적 거동특성 (Dynamic Behavior Character of Vessel Using DGPS and Motion Sensor)

  • 다중빔 음향탐사 시스템(Multibeam Echosounder system : MBES)은 넓은 지역을 소해측량(swath)하여 전자해도 제작, 고정밀 DEM 획득, 동영상 제작 등에 활용하는 최신 수로측량기술이다. MBES의 정확도향상 연구를 위한 기초연구로서 DGPS와 움직임측정센서(Motion senser)의 측정값을 비교 분석하여 선박의 동적 거동특성을 연구하였다. DGPS를 선체 전후, 좌우에 설치하여 측량한 GPS 위치 값의 수신정확도는 Roll은 ${\pm}0.0016^{\circ}$, Pitch는 ${\pm}0.0009^{\circ}$로 움직임측정센서 값의 정확도 평가가 가능한 양호한 정도를 얻었다. DGPS와 움직임측정센서의 Heading, Pitch, Roll 상관관계는 모두 정상관 관계를 나타냈다. 또한, 각 변화량에 따른 편차량의 상관관계는 정상관 관계이나 탐사선의 급회전, 진동 등과 같은 요소에 의해 편차가 발생 될 것으로 사료된다. GPS에 의한 조위변화량, Heave값은 움직임측정센서 값과 유사하며, GPS속도는 설치장소에 따라 변화가 있어 영향이 가장 적은 선박의 중심선에 설치하는 것이 적당하다. MBES Processor 장치에 입력되는 자이로, 움직임측정센서 값이 DGPS 실시간 관측 값보다 자이로는 15초, Pitch, Roll, Heave는 13초 시간차가 있어 MBES 최종값의 정확도에 영향을 줄 수 있는 것으로 사료된다.
