  • Volumetric Studio is catalyzing the expansion of the XR content market. Consequently, there is a rising demand for in-depth research on volumetric capture technology. This research delves into the methodology and outcomes of capturing dancers' movements in the form of 3D video images. Furthermore, this research examines the practical applications of volumetric capture technology by assessing the infrastructure and operational workflow of the studio specializing in this domain, aiming to derive significant findings. Notably, this research highlights constraints associated with video image distortion and extended rendering durations within Volumetric Studio system.

  • This paper suggests a method of automatic clustering to search of relevant digital photos using geo-coded information. The provided scheme labels photo images with their corresponding global positioning system coordinates and date/time at the moment of capture, and the labels are used as clustering metadata of the images when they are in the use of retrieval. Experimental results show that geo-location information can improve the accuracy of image retrieval, and the information embedded within the images are effective and precise on the image clustering.

  • In this paper, we propose a Windows-based presentation system using laser pointer mouse. Major-characteristics of this system is to synchronize the laser pointing position with the PC cursor such that the laser can function as not only pointer, but also a PC mouse. It is shown that we use a special pattern to coincide the coordinate of the camera capture image with that of the pc window. We finally show its feasibility by some experiments with the implemented system.

  • A prototype CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) imaging system has been built and the possibility of applying to the application to astronomical observations has been investigated. The CCD (charge coupled device) image sensor has been the mainstay of image capture and astronomical imaging for the last 30 years, but CMOS devices have shown rapidly increasing success and have been adapted to many commercial imaging systems . Although the photometric performances and system noise of CMOS sensors are lower than that of CCD image sensors, CMOS Imaging system can be used to obtain general image capture for astronomical applications.

  • Recently, there is increasing demand for image processing technology while activated the use of equipments such as camera, camcorder and CCTV. In particular, research and development related to 3D image technology using the depth camera such as Kinect sensor has been more activated. Kinect sensor is a high-performance camera that can acquire a 3D human skeleton structure via a RGB, skeleton and depth image in real-time frame-by-frame. In this paper, we develop a system. This system captures the motion of a 3D human skeleton structure using the Kinect sensor. And this system can be stored by selecting the motion file format as trc and bvh that is used for general purposes. The system also has a function that converts TRC motion captured format file into BVH format. Finally, this paper confirms visually through the motion capture data viewer that motion data captured using the Kinect sensor is captured correctly.

  • For this study we used a CCD video camera to capture the pavement image information via the computer. During investigation processing, the CCD video camera captured 10${\sim}$30 images per second. If the vehicle velocity is too fast, the collected images will be duplicated and if the velocity is too slow there will be a gapped between images. Therefore, in order to control the efficiency of the image grabber we should add accessory tools such as the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) and odometer. Furthermore, Kalman Filtering can also solve these problems. After the CCD video camera captured the pavement images, we used the Least-Squares method to eliminate images of gradation which have non-uniform surfaces due to the illumination at night. The Fuzzy Entropy method calculates images of threshold segments and creates binary images. Finally, the Object Labeling algorithm finds objects that are cracks or noises from the binary image based on volume pixels of the object. We used these algorithms and tested them, also providing some discussion and suggestions.

  • This paper is concerned with the problem of how to detect paint type defects on painted slates using machine vision. We begin by outlining the motivations for this research and present a review of research in related areas before proceeding with a process description and a categorization of typical paint defects. We describe the test bed built to replicate factory conditions and the testing of image capture techniques. We discuss problems we confronted such as getting a sufficiently strong signal level from the slate, the effects of the slate surface profile on image capture and how we dealt with these problems. The third principal challenge was to generate a strong signal to noise ratio for each defect type so that a computationally inexpensive image processing method becomes viable. We demonstrate ...

  • In this paper, we implemented the surveillance camera system capable of day and night shooting. To this end, it is designed to capture clear images even at night using a CMOS image sensor as well as an IR-LED. In addition, a relatively simple motion detection algorithm was proposed through color model separation. Motions can be detected by extracting only the H channel from the color model, dividing the image into blocks, and then applying the block matching method using the average color value between consecutive frames. When motions are detected during filming, an alarm sounds automatically and a day and night motion detection system is implemented that can capture and save the event screen to a PC.

  • This paper describes CAD tools for the construction of image database in IC chip analysis CAD system. For IC chip analysis by high-resolution microscopy, the image database is essential to manage more than several thousand images. But manual database construction is error-prone and time-consuming. In order to solve this problem, we develop a set of CAD toos that include image grabber to capture chip images, image editor to make the whole chip image database from the grabbed images, and image divider to reconstruct the database that consists of evenly overlapped images for efficient region search. we also develop an interactive pattern matching method for user-friendly image editing, and a heuristic region search method for fast image division. The tools are developed with a high-performance graphic hardware with JPEG image comparession chip to process the huge color image data. The tools are under the field test and experimental resutls show that the database construction time can be redcued in 1/3 compared to manual database construction.
