  • This paper deals with an analysis of multipath which affect a transmission performance in underwater acoustic channel. Underwater acoustic channel with multipath structure is introduced to mathematical modelling for a basin environment. In this paper, SMR(Signal to Multipath Ratio) which is defined as a parameter of multipath's effect is presented as a mathematical equation, and the equation of SMR is simulated by MATLAB program. Furthermore, this paper is also dealt with an implementation of modulation and demodulation system for acoustic transmission Acoustic Transmission is limited by frequency bandwidth so $\pi$/4 Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) methods which is very useful at frequency limitation and FM(Frequency Modulation) are used at acoustic communication system. This implemented hybrid modulation/demodulation system is used as an analog board of image transmission system

  • Stereoscopic particle image velocimetry is a measurement technique to acquire of three dimensional velocity field by two cameras. With a laser sheet illumination, the third velocity component can be deduced by out-of-plane velocity components using a stereoscopic matching method. Industrial fluid flows are almost three dimensional turbulent flows, so it is necessary to use the stereoscopic PIV measurement method. However the existing stereoscopic PIV system seems hard to use since it is very expensive and complex. In this study we have developed a Stereoscopic Miniature PIV(MPIV) system based on the concept of the Miniature PIV system which we have already developed. In this paper, we address the design and some first experimental results of the stereoscopic PIV system. The Stereoscopic MPIV system features relatively modest performances, but is considerably smaller, cheaper and easy to handle. The proposed Stereoscopic MPIV system uses two one-chip-only CMOS cameras with digital output. Only two other chips are needed, one for a buffer memory and one for an interfacing logic that controls the system. Images are transferred to a personal computer (PC) via its standard parallel port. No extra hardware is required (in particular, no frame grabber board is needed).

  • For two decades, there has been an active research to enhance the performances of Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) systems. However, the resulting systems are somewhat very costly, cumbersome and delicate. In this paper, we address the design and some first experimental results of a PIV system belonging to the opposite paradigm. The Miniature PIV or MPIV system feature relatively modest performances, but is considerably smaller (out MPIV could hold in dia. 40 mm$\times$120 mm), cheaper (out MPIV total cost is less than $500) and easy to handle. Potential applications include industrial velocity sensors. The proposed MPIV system uses a one-chip-only CMOS camera with digital output. Only two other chips are needed, one for a buffer memory and one for an interfacing logic that controls the system. Images are transferred to a personal computer (PC or laptop) via its standard parallel port. No extra hardware is required (in particular, no frame grabber board is needed). In our first MPIV prototype presented in this paper, the strobe lighting is generated by a cheap 5 mW laser pointer diode. Experimental results are presented and discussed.

  • With the development of autonomous driving technology, the importance of object recognition technology is increasing. Haze removal is required because the hazy weather reduces visibility and detectability in object recognition. However, the image from which the haze has been removed cannot properly reflect the unique color, and a detection error occurs. In this paper, we use CIE1931 color coordinate system to extend or reduce the color area to provide algorithms and hardware that reflect the colors of the real world. In addition, we will implement hardware capable of real-time processing in a 4K environment as the image media develops. This hardware was written in Verilog and implemented on the SoC verification board.

An Automatic Teaching Method by Vision Information for A Robotic Assembly System

  • In this study, an off-line automatic teaching method using vision information for robotic assembly task is proposed. Many of industrial robots are still taught and programmed by a teaching pendant. The robot is guided by a human operator to the desired application locations. These motions are recorded and are later edited, within the robotic language using in the robot controller, and played back repetitively to perform the robot task. This conventional teaching method is time-consuming and somewhat dangerous. In the proposed method, the operator teaches the desired locations on the image acquired through CCD camera mounted on the robot hand. The robotic language program is automatically generated and transferred to the robot controller. This teaching process is implemented through an off-line programming(OLP) software. The OLP is developed for the robotic assembly system used in this study. In order to transform the location on image coordinates into robot coordinates, a calibration process is established. The proposed teaching method is implemented and evaluated on the assembly system for soldering electronic parts on a circuit board. A six-axis articulated robot executes assembly task according to the off-line automatic teaching.

  • An experimental study was carried out in a vertical channel with square heat source by visualization equipment with laser apparatus. The image processing system consists of one commercial image board slit into a personal computer and 2-dimensional sheet light by Argon-Ion Laser with cylindrical lens and flow picture recording system. Instant simultaneous velocity vectors at whole field were measured by 2-D PIV system which adopted two-frame grey-level cross correlation algorithm. Heat source was uniform heat flux(5W). The obtained results show various flow patterns such as the kinetic energy distribution and the turbulent kinetic energy distribution.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for the approximation of FIR filters by IIR filters. The algorithm is based on a concept of the balanced model reduction. Head-related transfer functions(HRTFs) of dummy-head are approximated by 32-order IIR filters. The binaural sounds using the approximated HRTFs are reproduced by headphone, and serves as a cue of sound image localization. Experiment of sound image are carried out for 10 participants with computer simulation and DSP board respectively. The results of the experiments show that the localization using the approximated HRTFs by IIR filters is the same accuracy as the case of FIR filters that simulate the HRTFs.

  • An experimental study was carried out in a channel cavity with square heat surface by visual¬ization equipment with Mach - Zehnder interferometer and laser apparatus. The image processing system consists of one commercial image board slit into a personal computer and 2-dimensional sheet light by Argon-Ion Laser with cylindrical lens and flow picture recording system. Instant simultaneous velocity vectors at whole field were measured by 2-D PIV system which adopted two¬frame grey-level cross correlation algorithm. Heat source was uniform heat flux(o.4W/cm$^2$, , O.8W/cm$^2$, 1.2W/cm$^2$). Obtained result showed various flow patterns such as kinetic energy distribution. Severe unsteady flow fluctuation within the cavity are remarkable and sheared mixing layer phenomena are also found at the region where inlet flow is collided with the counter-clockwise rotating main primary vortex. Photographs of Mach ~ Zehnder are also compared in terms of constant heat flux.

  • Transformation of molecular film occurs only usually in air-water interface, 2 dimensions domain's growth and crash are achieved. Formation that prevent when gas phase state and liquid phase state measure but Could know organic matter that molecules form equal and stable film when molecules were not distributed evenly. and accumulated in solid state only.

  • This paper proposes a path planning algorithm to reduce the inspection time of AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) machines for SMT (Surface Mount Technology) in-line system. Since the field-of-view of the camera attached at the machine is much less than the entire inspection region of board, the inspection region should be clustered to many groups. The image acquisition time depends on the number of groups, and camera moving time depends on the sequence of visiting the groups. The acquired image is processed while the camera moves to the next position, but it may be delayed if the group includes many components to be inspected. The inspection delay has influence on the overall job time of the machine. In this paper, we newly considers the inspection delay time for path planning of the inspection machine. The unified approach using genetic algorithm is applied to generates the groups and visiting sequence simultaneously. The chromosome, crossover operator, and mutation operator is proposed to develop the genetic algorithm. The experimental results are presented to verify the usefulness of the proposed method.
