Status and Tasks of ICT-based Welfare Services for the Elderly Living Alone (ICT기반 독거노인복지서비스의 현황 및 과제)

  • The Objective of this study was to establish the role of ICT based Welfare services to support the needs of the elderly living alone. For this, 85 current services for the elderly from 6 central governments was arranged, and also, 114 possible welfare services based on ICT in future were surveyed from the research articles. These services were categorized by Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and rearranged into online, offline and combined services. It was observed that most of the services were focused on Safety needs(medical health) and Self-actualization(leisure culture), and services for Esteem were lack. It would be possible to improve the services for the environmental improvement, employment expansion, independent Activities of daily living with the ICT based elderly welfare services. And also, it was needed to develop the additional services for the psychological and emotional support. It was concluded that ICT based consumer oriented services could improve the quality of life of the elderly living alone with the well balanced strategies.

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, the age of artificial intelligence, the development of ICT technology is having various effects on the online and offline educational environment. The universal access of online education changes the educational paradigm and converts it to a learner-centered service. At the time when a new educational environment is required to change, interest in flip learning is increasing. Even adult learner's online learning needs is also shown very high. The purpose of this study was to investigate how repetitive learning activities through flip learning for middle-aged online learners of K-Cyber University has a relationship and structural relationship between the effects of learning immersion and learning interest on learning satisfaction. Through this study, there is significance in research to suggest direction for learning satisfaction based on flip learning. For further studies, if a model of analysis of various factors that can be measured is specified and applied, it can be used as a research background that can maximize learning satisfaction based on flip learning.

A Study on Human-Centered IT Utilization in Caring for Elderly People Who Live Alone (독거노인 돌봄에 있어 인간중심의 IT 활용방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study was conducted to find ways to utilize human-centered IT in caring for elderly people who live alone. Through focus group interviews with experts, this study investigated the problems with delivery system, and ethical issues. Problems such as lack of trust, supplier-centered care, and uniform service provision were derived as major problems in the delivery system. These findings indicate that IT should be used as an auxiliary means of face-to-face services and to be controllable and convenient. Issues such as "guaranteeing the right to self-determination," "protecting privacy," "sufficiently guaranteeing the right to know," and "encompassing blind spots" were raised as important ethical issues related to human-centered IT utilization. Based on the research results, this study presented the necessity of designing user-centered information technology and the necessity of developing ethical indicators for the use of human-centered technology.
