  • The SMAC (Simplified Marker And Cell) algorithm is extended for an application to thermal non-equilibrium two-phase flows in light water nuclear reactors (LWRs). A two-fluid three-field model is adopted and a multi-dimensional unstructured grid is used for complicated geometries. The phase change and the time derivative terms appearing in the continuity equations are implemented implicitly in a pressure correction equation. The energy equations are decoupled from the momentum equations for faster convergence. The verification of the present numerical method was carried out against a set of test problems which includes the single and the two-phase flows. The results are also compared to those of the semi-implicit ICE method, where the energy equations are coupled with the momentum equation for pressure correction.

  • 본 논문은 2004년 경부고속선 개통이후 UM71C AF궤도회로 현장 구성품(BU, SVaC, DB)들이 선로내측 자갈도상에 설치되어 있기 때문에 겨울철 고속차량 낙빙 및 시설분야 장비작업으로 인한 파손사례가 자주 발생되어 시설물 보호를 위한 개선대책일환으로 선로내측에 설치된 구성품을 선로외측으로 이설할 경우 케이블 길이 변화에 따른 임피던스 특성변화와 보상콘덴서 추가구성을 위하여 MATLAB Simulink를 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 시행하였고 또한 고속선 현장실증시험을 통하여 시뮬레이션과 동일한 결과를 얻었다. 향후 궤도회로사구간에 대한 보완과 구성품내부 임피던스 재설계 연구를 통하여 실제 현장에 적용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

동결 삼축압축시험을 통한 동결 사질토의 온도 및 구속압력에 따른 역학적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Mechanical Characteristics of Frozen Sand, Considering Temperature and Confining Pressure Effects, in a Cryogenic Triaxial Compression Test)

  • 대부분의 선행연구는 동결 삼축압축시험 수행 시, 몰드를 사용하여 시료를 조성하고 단방향으로 동결을 진행하였다. 이는 동결된 시료에 잔류응력이 발생할 가능성이 있기 때문에 인공동결공법이 적용된 지반을 모사하는데 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 시험방법의 한계를 보완할 수 있는 시험장비 및 시험방법을 제안하고, 제안된 방법으로 온도 및 구속압력에 따른 동결 사질토의 역학적 특성을 평가하였다. 동결온도가 낮아질수록 동결 사질토는 취성이 증가하였고, 부동수분의 감소 및 얼음자체의 강도 증가로 인하여 강도가 증가하였다. 구속압력의 증가는 강도저감 효과를 발생시키는 압력융해 현상과 강도증진 효과를 발생시키는 흙 입자의 마찰력 증가 모두를 야기하였다. 이처럼 동결 사질토의 역학적 거동은 구속압력과 동결온도의 복합적인 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

INTRA-NIGHT OPTICAL VARIABILITY OF ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI IN THE COSMOS FIELD WITH THE KMTNET

  • Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) variability can be used to study the physics of the region in the vicinity of the central black hole. In this paper, we investigated intra-night optical variability of AGN in the COSMOS field in order to understand the AGN instability at the smallest scale. Observations were performed using the KMTNet on three separate nights for 2.5 to 5 hours at a cadence of 20 to 30 min. We find that the observation enables the detection of short-term variability as small as ~ 0.02 and 0.1 mag for R ~ 18 and 20 mag sources, respectively. Using four selection methods (X-rays, mid-infrared, radio, and matching with SDSS quasars), 394 AGN are detected in the $4deg^2$ field of view. After differential photometry and ${\chi}^2$-test, we classify intra-night variable AGN. The fraction of variable AGN (0-8%) is statistically consistent with a null result. Eight out of 394 AGN are found to be intra-night variable in two filters or two nights with a variability level of 0.1 mag, suggesting that they are strong candidates for intra-night variable AGN. Still they represent a small population (2%). There is no sub-category of AGN that shows a statistically significant intra-night variability.

경사냉각면에 따른 함수정방형내의 동결현상에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on freezing phenomena of water saturated square cavity with inclined cold surface)

  • It was studied the phenomena of transient freezing of an inclined water-saturated enclosure. One side of the test section was cooled and the other sides were insulated. The effects of the initial temperature, the inclination angle on the temperature field and the shape of the ice-water interface were observed. In the beginning of freezing, with increasing the inclination angle the freezing rate was increased and in the stable density layer centered $4^{\circ}C$, the freezing was fast as the convective fluid flow became small. When the initial temperature was above the $4^{\circ}C$, the frozen thickness in the upper part of inclined surface was thinner than that in the lower part, but with time the frozen thickness of upper part was thicker than that of lower part, below the $4^{\circ}C$, the frozen thickness in the upper part was thicker than that of lower part from the begining, and above the $8^{\circ}C$ in the beginning upper part was thinner with concave, but with time thicker the upper part, vanishing concave.

스테레오카메라 기반 이동식 노면정보 검지시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Development of Stereo Camera based on Mobile Road Surface Condition Detection System)

  • PURPOSES : This study attempts to design and establish the road surface condition detection system by using the image processing that is expected to help implement the low-cost and high-efficiency road information detection system by examining technology trends in the field of road surface condition information detection and related case studies. METHODS : Adapted visual information collecting method(setting a stereo camera outside of the vehicle) and visual information algorithm(transform a Wavelet Transform, using the K-means clustering) Experiments and Analysis on Real-road, just as four states(Dry, Wet, Snow, Ice). RESULTS : Test results showed that detection rate of 95% or more was found under the wet road surface, and the detection rate of 85% or more in snowy road surface. However, the low detection rate of 30% was found under the icy road surface. CONCLUSIONS : As a method to improve the detection rate of the mobile road surface condition information detection system developed in this study, more accurate phase analysis in the image processing process was needed. If periodic synchronization through automatic settings of the camera according to weather or ambient light was not made at the time of image acquisition, a significant change in the values of polarization coefficients occurs.

실내동결시스템을 이용한 노상토의 동상 특성 (The Frost Heaving Characteristics of Subgrade Soils Using Laboratory Freezing System)

  • 겨울에는 시베리아기단의 영향으로 한랭 건조한 대륙성 고기압의 영향을 받아 춥고 건조하여 1월 평균기온이 $-6{\sim}-7^{\circ}C$의 영하의 온도로 낮아져 지반동결시 수분이동으로 동상현상이 발생하여 도로의 불균형 동결팽창을 초래하며, 결국 포장체를 파손시킨다. 동상발생시 토립자는 모관력에 의해 지하수를 흡수하여 아이스렌즈를 형성하며, 이 모관 흡수력은 토립자의 크기에 영향을 받는다. 도로는 다양한 재료와 단면으로 구성된 구조물이기 때문에 환경성과 재료 물성뿐만 아니라 포장체 각 층의 구조적 적정성 또는 지지력을 파악하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 현재 기존 동상방지층 설계법에 따르면, 동상방지층은 포장체의 구조적 적정성과는 무관하게 온도 조건에 따른 동결깊이에 따라 일률적으로 결정되고 있다. 이러한 동결깊이를 포장구조설계에 적용함으로써 포장의 과다설계 우려가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 도로 동상방지층의 효용성 검증 및 설치기준 확립을 위해 실내동결시스템을 활용하여 도로 노상토의 동상 특성에 대한 민감성을 판별, 도로건설 현장 노상토에 대한 역학적 특성과 실내 동결 시험을 수행하였으며, 외부 동결온도의 지속 조건에 대한 시료의 온도변화, 동상팽창압, 동상팽창량, 부동수분 등의 결과값을 통하여 동결 과정에 따른 지반공학적 특성을 평가하였다.

지반함몰 저감을 위한 하수관로 뒤채움재 개발 및 현장적용성 평가 (Development and Application of Backfill Material for Reducing Ground Subsidence)

  • 본 연구에서는 하수관로 손상을 예방하고 다짐불량으로 인한 지반침하를 방지할 수 있는 하수관로 뒤채움재를 개발하였다. CA 치환율, 촉진제 종류 및 치환율, 물-재료비 등에 대한 실내실험을 수행하였는데, 재령 4시간 압축강도는 W/M 70% 이하에서 0.55~0.64MPa, W/B 80% 이상에서는 0.20MPa로 나타나 국외 유동화토의 압축강도 기준인 0.13MPa을 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 현장 시험시공에서는 얼음블록을 이용하여 인위적으로 지중에 공동을 생성시키고 하수관로 변형을 유도하였다. 기존의 모래다짐 방법과 개발 뒤채움재의 성능을 비교 평가하였는데, 모래다짐 구간의 횡단면 발생 침하량은 최대 23.4cm, 종단면은 최대 27cm 발생하였으나, 뒤채움재 시공 구간에서는 횡단면에서 최대 0.01cm가 발생하였고, 종단면은 시간이 경과하여도 침하량의 변화가 나타나지 않았다.

열매체 순환수 배관이 매설된 도로 포장체의 표면 온도 변화와 방열 성능 분석 (Analysis of Surface Temperature Change and Heat Dissipation Performance of Road Pavement with Buried Circulating Water Piping)

  • Hydronic heated road pavement (HHP) systems have well studied and documented by many researchers. However, most of the systems run on asphalt, only a few are tested with concrete, and there rarely is a comparison between those two common road materials in their heating and cooling performance. The aim of this study is to investigate the thermal performance of the HHP, such as heat dissipation performance in winter season while focusing on the surface temperature of the concrete and asphalt pavement. For preliminary study a small-scale experimental system was designed and installed to evaluate the heat transfer characteristics of the HHP in the test field. The system consists of concrete and asphalt slabs made of 1 m in width, 1 m in length, and 0.25 m in height. In two slabs, circulating water piping was embedded at a depth of 0.12 m at intervals of 0.16 m. Heating performance in winter season was tested with different inlet temperatures of 25℃, 30℃, 35℃ and 40℃ during the entire measurement period. The results indicated that concrete's heating performance is better than that of asphalt, showing higher surface temperatures for the whole experiment cases. However, the surface temperature of both concrete and asphalt pavement slabs remained above 0℃ for all experimental conditions. The heat dissipation performance of concrete and asphalt pavements was analyzed, and the heat dissipation of concrete pavement was greater than that of asphalt. In addition, the higher the set temperature of the circulating water, the higher the heat dissipation. On the other hand, the concrete pavement clearly showed a decrease in heat dissipation as the circulating water set temperature decreased, but the decrease was relatively small for the asphalt pavement. Based on this experiment, it is considered that a circulating water temperature of 20℃ or less is sufficient to prevent road ice. However, this needs to be verified by further experiments or computational fluid dynamic (CFD) analysis.
