The micron-sized indium zinc tin oxide (IZTO) particles were prepared by spray pyrolysis from aqueous precursor solution for indium, zinc, and tin and organic additives such as citric acid (CA) and ethylene glycol (EG) were added to aqueous precursor solution for indium, zinc, and tin. The obtained IZTO particles prepared by spray pyrolysis from the aqueous solution without organic additives had spherical and filled morphologies, whereas the IZTO particles obtained with organic additives had more hollow and porous morphologies. The micron-sized IZTO particles with organic additives were changed fully to nano-sized IZTO particles, whereas the micron-sized IZTO particles without organic additives were not changed fully to nano-sized IZTO particle after post-treatment at $700^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours and wet-ball milling for 24 hours. Surface resistances of micron-sized IZTO's before post-heat treatment and wet-ball milling were much higher than those of nano-sized IZTO's after post-heat treatment and wet-ball milling. From IZTO with composition of 80 wt. % $In_2O_3$, 10 wt. % ZnO, and 10 wt. % $SnO_2$ which showed a smallest surface resistance IZTO after post-heat treatment and wet-ball milling, thin films were deposited on glass substrates by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering, and the electrical and optical properties were investigated.
We report on the electrical, optical, and structural properties of indium zinc tin oxide (IZTO) anode films grown at room temperature on glass substrate. The IZTO anode films grown by a RF magnetron sputtering were investigated as functions of RF power, working pressure, and process time in pure Ar ambient. To investigate electrical, optical and structural properties of IZTO anode films, 4-point probe, Hall measurement, UV/Vis spectrometer, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were performed, respectively. A sheet resistance of $13.88\;{\Omega}/{\square}$, average transmittance above 80 % in visible range were obtained from optimized IZTO anode films grown on glass substrate. These results shown the amorphous structure regardless of RF power and working pressure due to low substrate temperature.
The rapid thermal annealing effect of transparent IZTO(indium zinc oxide) and IAZO(indium alminium zinc oxide) films grown on glass substrate for solar cell or flat panel displays(FPDs) was studied. We prepared IZTO using RF magnetron sputtering and IAZO using DC co-sputtering method. Subsequently, using rapid thermal annealing(RTA) system, prepared IZTO and IAZO films were annealed at 300, 400, 500, $600^{\circ}C$ for 90sec. In addition, Electrical and optical characteristics were measured by Hall effect measurement and UV/Vis spectrometer examinations, respectively. To analyze structural properties and surface smoothness of the IZTO and IAZO films, XRD and SEM examinations were performed, respectively. It was shown that IZTO and IAZO films exhibited microcrystalline structure over $400^{\circ}C$ and amorphous structural regardless of RTA temperature, respectively.
Indium Zinc Tin Oxide (IZTO) thin films for transparent thin film transistor (TTFT) were deposited on glass substrate at room temperature by facing targets sputtering (FTS). The FTS system was designed to array two targets facing each other and forms the high- density plasma between. Two different kinds of targets were installed on FTS system. One is ITO ($In_2O_3$ 90wt.%, $SnO_2$ 10wt.%), the other is IZO($In_2O_3$ 90wt%, ZnO 10wt%). The conductive and optical properties of IZTO thin film is determined depending on variation of DC power and working pressure. Therefore, IZTO thin films were prepared with different DC power and working pressure. As-deposited IZTO thin films were investigated by a UV/VIS spectrometer, an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), a scanning electron microscopy (SEM), a Hall Effect measurement system. As a result, all IZTO thin films deposited on glass substrate showed over 80% of transmittance in visible range (400~800 nm) at $O_2$ gas flow rate. We could obtain IZTO thin films with the lowest resistivity $5.67\times10^{-4}$ [$\Omega{\cdot}cm$] at $O_2$ gas flow rate 0.4 [sccm).
Indium zinc tin oxide (IZTO) thin films were studied as a possible alternative to indium tin oxide (ITO) films for providing low-cost transparent conducting oxide (TCO) for thin film photovoltaic devices. IZTO films were deposited onto glass substrates at room temperature. A dc/rf magnetron co-sputtering system equipped with a ceramic target of the same composition was used to deposit TCO films. Earlier studies showed that the resistivity value of $In_{0.6}Zn_{0.2}Sn_{0.2}O_{1.5}$ (IZTO20) films could be lowered to approximately $6{\times}10^{-4}ohm{\cdot}cm$ without sacrificing optical transparency and still maintaining amorphous structure through the optimization of process variables. The growth rate was kept at about 8 nm/min while the oxygen-to-argon pressure ratio varied from 0% to 7.5%. As-deposited films were always amorphous and showed strong oxygen pressure dependence of electrical resistivity and electron concentration values. Influence of forming gas anneal (FGA) at medium temperatures was also studied and proven effective in improving electrical properties. In this study, the chemical composition of the targets and the films varied around the $In_{0.6}Zn_{0.2}Sn_{0.2}O_{1.5}$ (IZTO20). It was the main objective of this paper to investigate how off-stoichiometry affected TCO characteristics including electrical resistivity and optical transmission. In addition to the composition effect, we have also studied how film properties changed with processing variables. IZTO thin films have shown their potential as a possible alternative to ITO thin films, in such way that they could be adopted in some applications where currently ITO and IZO thin films are being used. Our experimental results are compared to those obtained for commercial ITO thin films from solar cell application view point.
Transparent conduction oxides (TCOs) films is extensively reported for optoelectronic devices application such as touch panels, solar cells, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), and organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs). Among the many TCO film, indium tin oxide(ITO) is in great demand due to the growth of flat panel display industry. However, indium is not only high cost but also its deposits dwindling. Therefore, many studies are being done on the transparent conductive oxides(TCOs). We fabricated a target of IZTO(In2O3:ZnO:SnO2=70:15:15 wt.%) reduced indium. Then, IZTO thin films were deposited on glass substrates by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering with various oxygen flow ratio. The substrate temperature was fixed at the room temperature. We investigated the electrical, optical, structural properties of IZTO thin films. The electrical properties of IZTO thin films were dependent on the oxygen partial pressure. As a result, the most excellent properties of IZTO thin films were obtained at the 3% of oxygen flow rate with the low resistivity of $7.236{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$. And also the optical properties of IZTO thin films were shown the good transmittance over 80%. These IZTO thin films were used to fabricated organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs) as anode and the device performances studied. The OLED with an IZTO anode deposited at optimized deposition condition showed good brightness properties. Therefore, IZTO has utility value of TCO electrode although it reduced indium and we expect it is possible for the IZTO to apply to flexible display due to the low processing temperature.

In this paper, indium reduced materials for transparent conductive electrodes (TCE) were fabricated and their physical properties were evaluated. Two of materials, indium-zinc-tin oxide (IZTO) and aluminum (Al) were selected as TCE materials. In case of IZTO nanoparticles, composition ratios of In, Zn and Sn is 8:1:1 were synthesized. Size of the synthesized IZTO nanoparticles were less than 10 nm, and specific surface areas were about $90m^2/g$ indicating particle sizes are very fine. Also, the IZTO nanoparticles were well crystallized with (222) preferred orientation despite it was synthesized at the lowered temperature of $300^{\circ}C$. Composition ratios of In, Zn and Sn were very uniform in accordance with those as designed. Meanwhile, Al was deposited onto glass by sputtering in a vacuum chamber for mesh architecture. The Al was well deposited onto the glass, and no pore was observed from the Al surface. The sheet resistance of Al on glass was about $0.3{\Omega}/{\square}$ with small deviation of $0.025{\Omega}/{\square}$, and adhesion was good on the glass substrate since no pelt-off part of Al was observed by tape test. If the Al mesh is combined with ink coated layer which is consistent of IZTO nanoparticles, it is expected that the good and reliable metal mesh architecture for TCE will be formed.
The Indium Zinc Tin Oxide (IZTO) and Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) thin films are grown on PI substrate at different substrate temperature by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering with a sintered ceramic target of IZTO (In2O3 70 wt.%, ZnO 15 wt.%, SnO2 15 wt.%) and ITO (In2O3 90wt.%, SnO2 10wt.%). The structural, electrical, and optical properties are investigated. The IZTO thin films deposited at low temperature showed relatively low electrical resistivity compared to ITO thin films deposited at low temperature. As a result, we could prepare the IZTO thin films with the resistivity as low as $5.6{\times}10^{-4}({\Omega}{\cdot}m)$. Both of the films deposited on PI substrate showed an average transmittance over 80% in visible range (400.800nm). Overall, IZTO thin film is a promising candidate as an alternative TCO material to ITO in flexible and OLED devices.
The influences of $O_2$ partial pressure on electrical properties of transparent semiconducting indium zinc tin oxide thin films deposited at room temperature by magnetron sputtering have been investigated. The experimental results show that by varying the $O_2$ partial pressure during deposition, electron mobilities of IZTO thin film can be controlled between 7 and $25\;cm^2/Vs$. For conducting films, the carrier concentration and resistivity are ${\sim}\;10^{21}\;cm^{-3}$ and ${\sim}\;10^{-4}\;{\Omega}\;cm$, respectively. Concerning semiconducting films, under 12% $O_2$ partial fraction, the electron concentration is $10^{18}\;cm^{-3}$, showing the promising candidate for the application of transparent thin film transistors.
