9-DOF Modeling and Turning Flight Simulation Evaluation for Parachute (9-DOF 낙하산 모델링 및 선회비행 시뮬레이션 검증)

  • This paper describes the parachute dynamics modeling and simulation results for the development of training simulator of a HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) parachute, which is currently in use for military purposes. The target parachute is a rectangular shaped parafoil and its dynamic model is derived based on the real geometry data as the 9-DOF nonlinear equations of dynamics. The simulation was conducted through the moment of inertia and its aerodynamic derivatives to reflect the real characteristics based on the MATLAB/Simulink. In particular, its modeling includes the typical characteristics of the added mass and moment of inertia, which is shown in the strong effects in Lighter-Than-Air(LTA) flight vehicle. The proposed dynamic modeling was evaluated through the simulation under the spiral turning flight conditions of the asymmetric control inputs and compared with the performance index in the target parachute manual.

  • This study's purpose is to revive pre-construction situation earlier than construction of media facade using light-emitting diode, and analyze the strong and weak points of simulation image making process and technology, including lots of expressing methods. Exterior building decoration that was originated from Super Graphic led to the LED construction with a trend of increased night activities of these days. Initial Super Graphic was just in the level of deciding what to do with simple CAD drawings, but today's media facade construction is not so simple as the previous ones. This is because of the problems that should think about balances between neighboring environment and buildings, including high construction costs. According to survey results, media facade construction simulation's various expressing methods, its processes of analysis, and its strong & weak points will suggest standards for its size of construction and simulation purpose, including recommending suggestions that can respond rapidly by clients' diverse demands.

  • The object-oriented (OO) distributed real-time (RT) programming movement started in 1990´s and is growing rapidly at this turn of the century. Distributed real-time simulation is a field in its infancy but it is bounded to receive steadily growing recognition for its importance and wide applicability. The scheme is called the distributed time-triggered simulation scheme which is conceptually simple and easy to use but widely applicable. A new generation object oriented (OO) RT programming scheme is called the time-triggered message triggered object(TMO) programming scheme and it is used to make specific illustrations of the issues. The TMO structuring scheme is a general-style components structuring scheme and supports design of all types of component including hard real time objects and non real time objects within one general structure.

  • In this paper, we present the algorithm for calculating the interference of the received Non-ideal receiver filter and present the method for calculating the interference faster than that of the conventional method. The algorithm is simulated by Matlab and the simulation procedure is described by the flow-chart. The algorithm is verified by comparing the simulated results by Matlab with the result by calculator.

Improved Design of Engine Manufacturing Line Using Simulation (시뮬레이션을 사용한 엔진생산라인의 설계개선)

  • When a new manufacturing line is constructed, its production capacity can be substantially affected in its design stage. Computer simulation often provides better design by evaluating feasible alternatives. In this paper we study an automobile engine manufacturing line which is under construction. Three alternatives are considered in the design; (1) to use machining tools of longer life; (2) to reassign the buffer space to each sequential processes while maintaining the same total buffer length; and (3) to reduce the machine repair time to 30 minutes using TPM and maintenance team. Simulation results using AutoMod indicates that employing the three alternatives will save about 1.5 million dollars per year.

An XML-based DEVS Markup Language for Sharing Simulation Models on the Web (웹상에서의 시뮬레이션 모델 공유를 위한 XML 기반 DEVS 마크업 언어)

  • Driven by the explosive expansion and acceptance of the Internet and its multimedia front-end, the Web, a new generation of the modeling and simulation tools have come up with the name of Web-Based Simulation (WBS). Most of WBS libraries inherit its powerful advantages from Java. However, there are cases where explicit specification of models or interface objects is more desirable than the black-box programs. This paper presents an XML-based DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) markup language for sharing simulation models on the Web. DEVS provides a system-theoretic formalism for the language while XML supports platform-independent data access. This paper focuses on the design of such a language.

  • The main idea behind the Intelligent Networks (IN) concept is the separation of switching functionality from the service control, in order to meet various service requirements of subscribers and development of new services in time. On the increase of subscriber and for high quality of service, the IN upgrades its service systems, and there are a number of ways depending on the system architecture and the characteristics of services. This paper compares two alternatives, traces the performance of them by means of the simulation technique, and finally puts a rule to select one of them.

  • The major objective of this research is to design and build the variable structure DEVS modeling & simulation framework. To do this, we have proposed the direct message passing mechanism between the model and its simulator to deal with the structural demand from the model during the simulation. In this approach, four types of basic messages are introduced for the vertical(creation/deletion of the child) and horizontal(creation/deletion of the brother) structural changes. Proposed methodology has been successfully applied to the multi-processor system and the forest fire information system.

  • ITS는 기존의 교통체계에 첨단 정보통신기술을 접목시킴으로서 교통체계의 효율성과 안정성을 재고하기 위한 새로운 교통체계이다. 수도권 지역에 대하여 ITS의 관련기술 중 핵심 기술인 DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) 망의 최적구조, 노변장치와 지역서버간, 지역서버와 중앙서버간의 최적 망 구조를 설계하고, 이 망 구조에 대한 트래픽을 산출하며 이를 기초로 OPNET Modeler를 사용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 노변장치 - 지역서버간의 통신망구조 설계와 지역서버 - 중앙서버간의 통신망구조 설계설계에 대한 검증을 수행하였다.
