  • A filtering algorithm based on the decentralized moving average Kalman filter with uncertainties is proposed in this paper. The proposed filtering algorithm presented combines the Kalman filter with the moving average strategy. A decentralized fusion algorithm with the weighted sum structure is applied to the local moving average Kalman filters (LMAKFs) of different window lengths. The proposed algorithm has a parallel structure and allows parallel processing of observations. Hence, it is more reliable than the centralized algorithm when some sensors become faulty. Moreover, the choice of the moving average strategy makes the proposed algorithm robust against linear discrete-time dynamic model uncertainties. The derivation of the error cross-covariances between the LMAKFs is the key idea of studied. The application of the proposed decentralized fusion filter to dynamic systems within a multisensor environment demonstrates its high accuracy and computational efficiency.

  • Efficient multi-resolution image fusion aims to take advantage of the high spectral resolution of Landsat TM images and high spatial resolution of SPOT panchromatic images simultaneously. This paper presents a multi-resolution data fusion scheme, based on multirate image representation. Motivated by analytical results obtained from high-resolution multispectral image data analysis: the energy packing the spectral features are distributed in the lower frequency bands, and the spatial features, edges, are distributed in the higher frequency bands. This allows to spatially enhancing the multispectral images, by adding the high-resolution spatial features to them, by a multirate filtering procedure. The proposed method is compared with some conventional methods. Results show it preserves more spectral features with less spatial distortion.

  • Nuclear fusion may be among the strongest sustainable ways to replace fossil fuels because it does not contribute to acid rain or global warming. In this context, activated cobalt materials in corrosion products for fusion energy are significant in determination of dose levels during maintenance after a coolant leak in a nuclear fusion reactor. Therefore, cross-section studies on cobalt material are very important for fusion reactor design. In this article, the excitation functions of some nuclear reaction channels induced by proton particles on $^{59}Co$ structural material were predicted using different models. The nuclear level densities were calculated using different choices of available level density models in ALICE/ASH code. Finally, the newly calculated cross sections for the investigated nuclear reactions are compared with the experimental values and TENDL data based on TALYS nuclear code.

  • Though conventional calorimetry methods such as differential scanning calorimetry and differential thermal analysis are used generally in measuring heat of fusion, T-history method has advantages of a simple experimental apparatus and no requirements of sampling process, which is particularly useful for measuring thermophyical properties of in-homogeneous phase change materials in sealed tubes. However, the degree of supercooling used in selecting a range of latent heat release and neglecting sensible heat during the phase change process can cause significant errors in determining the heat of fusion. In the present study, it was shown that a 40% discrepancy exists between the original T-history and the present methods when analyzing the same experimental data. As a result, a reasonable modification to the original T-history method is proposed.

  • In the area of data fusion, dealing with heterogeneous data sources, numerous models have been proposed in last three decades to facilitate different application domains i.e. Department of Defense (DoD), monitoring of complex machinery, medical diagnosis and smart buildings. All of these models shared the theme of multiple levels processing to get more reliable and accurate information. In this paper, we consider five most widely acceptable fusion models (Intelligence Cycle, Joint Directors of Laboratories, Boyd control, Waterfall, Omnibus) applied to different areas for data fusion. When they are exposed to a real scenario, where large dataset from heterogeneous sources is utilize for object monitoring, then it may leads us to non-efficient and unreliable information for decision making. The proposed variation works better in terms of time and accuracy due to prior data diminution.

  • Deep learning methods and attention mechanisms have been incorporated to improve facial emotion recognition, which has recently attracted much attention. The fusion approaches have improved accuracy by combining various types of information. This research proposes a fusion network with self-attention and local attention mechanisms. It uses a multi-layer perceptron network. The network extracts distinguishing characteristics from facial images using pre-trained models on RAF-DB dataset. We outperform the other fusion methods on RAD-DB dataset with impressive results.

  • In this paper, we review the latest technical progress and commercialization of stretchable interconnectors, stretchable strain sensors, and stretchable substrates for stretchable electronics. The development of stretchable electronics can pave a way for new applications such as wearable devices, bio-integrated devices, healthcare and monitoring, and soft robotics. The essential components of stretchable electronic devices are stretchable interconnector and stretchable substrate. Stretchable interconnector should have high stretchability and high electrical conductivity as well as stability under severe mechanical deformation. Therefore several nanocomposite-based materials using CNT, graphene, nanowire, and metal flake have been developed. Geometric engineering such as wavy, serpentine, buckled and mesh structure has been well developed. Stretchable substrate should also pose high stretchability and compatibility with stretchable sensing or interconnecting material. We summarize the recent research results of new materials for stretchable interconnector and substrate as well as strain sensors. The Important challenges in development of the stretchable interconnector and substrate are also briefly discussed.

  • In recent times Fusion Historic Soap Operas have been produced and highly rated in Showtime. They have encouraged more creative costume designs for historic soap operas, as it is difficult to re-create costumes of the era in which the soap opera is set, knowledge of which is scant or even non-existent. These more creative and innovative costumes appeal to young modern audience in a way which the more classical setting did not. This study aims to study styling of combat uniforms in two Fusion Historic Soap Operas- "Zumong" and "Taewangsasingi" and to introduce new styling for future use. Those combat uniforms in two fusion historic soap operas were reproduced by modern imaginations and fantasies, rather than historical researches. Also the new design has applied unique styling for each character and enhances characters in those soap operas. This study focuses on combat uniforms of main male characters, but it can be suggestible that following researches will study in a variety of costume design stylings and characters in future historical soap operas.

  • The fusion of the GPS (Global Positioning System) and DR (Dead Reckoning) is widely used for position and latitude estimation of vehicles such as a mobile robot, aerial vehicle and marine vehicle. Among the many types of aerial vehicles, grater focus is given on the quad-rotor and accuracy of the position information is becoming more important. In order to exactly estimate the position information, we propose the fusion method of GPS and Gyroscope sensor using the DEKF (Dual Extended Kalman Filter). The DEKF has an advantage of simultaneously estimating state value and a parameter of dynamical system. It can also be used even if state value is not available. In order to analyze the performance of DEKF, the computer simulation for estimating the position, the velocity and the angle in a circle trajectory of quad-rotor was done. As it can be seen from the simulation results using own proposed DEKF instead of EKF on own fusion method in the navigation of a quad-rotor gave better performance values.
