The purpose of this study is to improve environmental education policy through analysing environmental education policy in Seoul. According to the results, it should be considered in suggesting improvement of Environmental Education policy in Seoul as follows. First, according to the analyses of paradigm of environmental education policy, it does not in part depend on implication of education for sustainable development. Second, according to the analyses of driving force on the environmental education policy, The state of integration between formal education and non formal education has not been mature yet. Third, according to the current state on the environmental education policy, it is urgent to strategic approach to activate school environmental education. Consequently, It is necessary to indicate a new paradigm shifts for review and revisions of policy and practice in support of sustainable regional development in Seoul. It is also desirable to provide new infra structure which included basic framework, guideline, practical programme so as to enhance environmental education. Thus it would be possible to contribute to activating education for sustainable development.

In the present knowledge and information society, knowledge and use of information and communication technology(ICT) is very important for every citizen. Also, for national power of a nation, IT-related industries need to be supported since those industries can be reconstructed in a short period of time unlike other industries. In this sense, identification and education of gifted children in IT become a serious national issue. Since 2013, gifted education has been conducted as a form of convergent education by government policy. However, there have been controversies on convergent education for gifted education. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the usefulness of convergent curriculum for gifted education in IT. For this purpose, gifted children in IT in a gifted education center are analyzed. By comparing the entrance ranking and graduation ranking, it is concluded that the current convergent gifted curriculum may not be efficient.

Recently, the need of the future education in youth and univesity is rapidly increasing according to 4th industrial revolution. However, the maker and design education as a kind of youth and university future education has the following problems: it is implemented as an interesting convergence education including software education, it is managed by integrating youth and university competencies, it is composed in the form of blended class of consilient subject and nonsubject, it requires considering satisfaction in competency measurement and management, it is connected with entering school and getting job. To solve these problems, a case study on competency-based maker and design education using marine robot, which is based on the process-based learing method, integrated competency of youth and university, blended-type curriculum in terms of online and offline, is executed. To verify the competency-based maker and design education, the satisfaction survey in subject and nonsubject is performed. Study results show the example of the marine robot-based maker and design education and the need for additional study.

Recent college education in the face of the Fourth Industrial Revolution highlights problem-solving skills or creativity over the passing of professional knowledge. In addition, the need for convergence education is growing further as high-tech information and communication technologies are converging to create innovative changes. In this study, after IT convergence education was conducted and after general convergence education was conducted, the difference in creative problem solving capabilities was compared and analyzed. The study found that students who received IT convergence education had higher creative problem solving capabilities than general convergence education, and showed a statistically significant difference. In order to foster creative problem-solving skills, universities will need to promote IT convergence education in various courses.

Regarding the role of infrastructure in the university and education sector, which is the most important factor for securing future competitiveness of a country, timely application from qualified applicants is an important factor. Thus, this study is to propose creative value regarding education and certification for smart IT sector, which will be a major topic in continuous technology development over the next 10 more years, and to bring out ripple effects by policy research regarding education and certification for smart IT sector in the software-oriented society. This research on policy regarding education and certification for smart IT sector in the software oriented society can be used as a guideline in education and certification for smart IT sector at colleges and can be also used for establishing groundwork for completing practical education required in smart ICT field at colleges and for cultivating mobile app program developers required by enterprises.

To meet the requirements in the global age, the necessity and importance of global education in the field of education is rapidly increasing. However, according to the viewpoint on global education, a general consensus of its definition and model is not clear yet and the substantial outcome falls short of our expectation due to high cost, low effectiveness, and lack of persistency in the process of global education. Furthermore, there has been little research on global education for fostering global capabilities of pre-teachers. In this research, we compared and analyzed the ongoing global education programs for training global teachers in domestic universities. Also, through a study on IT fusion education system for tackling the difficulties in global education, we examined appropriate IT fusion education methods. In particular, beased on big data analysis techniques, we presented a recommendation system to complete a global curriculum, which can help a dual-degree or exchange student program.

In this paper, a revitalization plan for IT education was studied. Currently, IT industry is the most important field of the export industry in korea. But IT education in korea has been neglected. To grasp the demand of students and parents for IT education, a survey was conducted. A majority of students and parents agree with opinion that should be strengthened IT education at school. Also, a majority of students and parents agree with a plan to set up special purpose high school for IT education. In this paper, a revitalization plan for IT education is proposed according to result of survey. It is expected to help the breeding gifted young man for IT.

Recently, there has been an increase in the importance of parenting education within the society of life long learning. Parenting education should be dealt with in the view of lifelong education. This article focused on parenting education as outlined in the Lifelong Education Act. After analyzing the legal systems and the current limitations of the Lifelong Education Act in terms of parenting education, future directions were proposed. To do this, this article analyzed the Lifelong Education Act in relation to parenting education. Based on the relevant data, this article derived the following conclusions. First, it found that parenting education in terms of lifelong education that is available to anyone at anytime should be open for all parents. Second, parenting education should be clearly specified in the contents of the Lifelong Education Act. Third, the values of civic education such as dignity, consideration, and love should be included in the contents of parenting education programs. In addition, it is note worthy to comment that creative education has been important for future society. Forth, it is recommended to specify parenting education in the subject list of lifelong educator training programs in the lifelong education act. Finally, parenting education should be practiced in the various lifelong education institutions. Fundamentally, parenting education as Lifelong Education should be established not only for parent's benefits, but also for children's well-being.

It is required that university students acquire information technology in order to adapt to the information society. Therefore, it is inevitable for universities to provide students with an effective curriculum to improve IT fluency. The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of the informatics learning programs in universities in Korea in terms of IT fluency which is defined by National Academy of Science NRC99. Based on the information that the Academy Information Center announced, the content analysis was carried out from September 2010 to June 2011. According to the result of the analysis, 84 of 201 universities provide the informatics education as a mandatory course. 29 of them mainly provide the programs about word processors, spreadsheet, and presentation that are regarded as contemporary skills. These programs cover the fundamental concept, but the contents which require intellectual capabilities are rarely addressed. Moreover, the informatics education has mainly focused on elementary and secondary education. In this sense, it is valid to analyze the contents and current states of the informatics learning programs required in higher education.

In this paper, we present a review of research perspectives and investigations in collegiate mathematics education from the four decades of development in the journal published by Korea Society of Mathematical Education. Research of mathematics education at the tertiary level, which had been a minor area in mathematics education, has made a significant development in the last decade in Europe md U.S.A. In this context, international journals for research in mathematics education were selected to comparatively examine and identify research trends and tasks in collegiate mathematics education. Based on the analysis of domestic at international journals, we present recommendations for further the development of Korean collegiate mathematics education research. First it is necessary to diversify the topics of educational research. Korean research of mathematics education at the tertiary level has been limited to the issues of curriculum developments, teacher education and computer technology. It is necessary to pursue more various topics such as conceptual development mathematical attitude and belief gender, socio-cultural aspect of teaching and teaming mathematics. Second, it is necessary to apply research methods for systematic investigations. It is important to note that international research of mathematics education introduces variety of research methods such as observation, interview, and survey in order to develop grounded theory of mathematics education. We end with pedagogical implications of the analyses presented and general conclusions concerning the perspectives for the future in collegiate mathematics education.
