A Study on Assessment for Competitiveness of Port Hinterland (항만 배후부지 경쟁력 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Global companies regard the conditions of a location as one of the most crucial factors to assess the competitiveness of ports and the port hinterland, as well as emphasize creation of throughput and the importance of value added logistics in the hinterland under diffusing Supply Chain Management(SCM). This study deals with the evaluation of competitiveness in 7 hinterlands and the establishment of assessment model in hinterland. This study analyzes the importance of factors for the port hinterland competitiveness using AHP method. As a result, logistics factor, accounting for 62.3%, is shown as the relative more important factor, followed by hinterland's economy factors(27.3%) and city/policy factor(10.4%). The result implicates that measures to activate logistics factors with relatively high importance are essentially needed in order to improve the competitiveness of the hinterland of Busan New Port. Especially, it is needed to establish service routes of the port and air networks and to expand infrastructure for support. This study also assesses the competitiveness of hinterlands for the seven domestic and foreign ports based on importance of assessment factors for the hinterland competitiveness using AHP analysis. Busan(3.903) is ranked fourth behind Singapore(4.570), Hong Kong(4.357) and Shanghai(4.042) in assessment.

A Study on the Analysis of Management Characteristics of Coastal Port Freight Transportation Business Using Panel Regression Analysis (패널회귀분석을 이용한 내항 화물운송사업체의 경영특성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzes the effects of freight transportation income, capital, asset, non-operating expenses, and debt ratio on the debts of inner port freight transportation businesses through the GLS of panel regression analysis and the estimation of fixed effects model. The factors and hypotheses were established through a theoretical background review, and the financial statement and profit and loss data of inner port freight transportation businesses for 10 years from 2006 to 2015 were analyzed. The results showed that assets had positive effects on debts, and negative effects on capital, non-operating expenses, and debt ratio, but no effect on freight transportation income. This result empirically demonstrates the tendency of inner port freight transportation businesses to secure assets by increasing debts, creation of debt reduction leverage effect using non-operating expenses such as interest expenses through bank borrowing, and the adoption of management characteristics and financial operation method to lower the debt ratio by reducing capital more than debts. In future studies, it is necessary to analyze coastal port freight transportation business by industry (oil tankers, cargo ships, and barge ships), and regions such as East, West and South sea.

  • The army of republic of korea have been continued to transform their logistics support system structure for better efficient logistics support system in preparation for the future environment. Logistics system has supply network structure which is connected by various units and supply network structure received attention as a factor of success of supply network. Many researchers have continuously researched inventory management, transportation or economy factors for supply network, but such a study on the one in military supply network structure analysis is still slower than the study of analysis of other factors until now. In this study, we identify military supply network structure influence factor by application of social network analysis method which is used broadly and analyze co-relationships between supply network structure influence factor and valued APL(average path length) as a criteria of efficiency of military supply network. By this study it has value of military supply network influence factor identification for the better military supply network fabrication.

A Study on the Effects of Overseas Direct Purchase Content Attributes and Logistics Attributes on Consumer's Perceived Value and Purchase Intention (해외직구 콘텐츠 속성과 물류 속성이 소비자의 지각된 가치 및 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • With the development of information and communication technology, borders are removed and consumer needs are diversified, so a new consumption form called overseas direct purchase has emerged and has been growing over the past few years. In this study, for the most common purchasing agency service among various types of overseas direct purchase, an empirical study was conducted on the effects of the content and logistics attributes of the overseas direct purchase platform on the perceived value and purchase intention of consumers. Data were collected from 273 domestic male and female adult consumers who had experience in information search related to overseas direct purchase, and the results of statistical analysis were summarized as follows. First, among the attributes of overseas direct purchase content and logistics attributes, only the attractiveness of content had a significant effect on the perceived value of consumers. Second, all perceived values of consumers were linked to purchase intentions, but among them, sensory values had a greater influence. Through these research results, it is suggested to increase the attractiveness of the web/app contents of overseas direct purchase service agents, and to improve the quality of services that can arouse sensory consumption experiences to meet the changing needs of consumers.

Preparation and Characterization of ClO2 Self-Releasing Smart Sachet (이산화염소 자체 방출 스마트 샤쉐의 제조 및 특성 연구)

  • Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is widely used for post-harvest sterilization treatment. However, there are limitations in the retail application of ClO2 due to difficulties in handling, expensive facilities, and safety concerns. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a ClO2 technology that can be easily applied and continuously released for a long period. In this study, a series of ClO2 self-releasing sachets were developed. First, poly(ether-block-amide) (PEBAX) and polyethylene-glycol (PEG) composite films containing different ratios of citric acid (CA) were prepared using the solution casting method. The as-prepared PEBAX/PEG-CA composite films were evaluated using FT-IR, DSC, and TGA to confirm chemical structure and thermal properties. Subsequently, PEBAX/PEG-CA composite films were designed in the form of a sachet and NaClO2 powder was transferred into the sachet to achieve a ClO2 self-releasing system. The ClO2-releasing behavior of the sachet was investigated by measuring the release amount of the gas using UV-vis. The release amount of ClO2 increased with increasing CA contents owing to the existence of higher protons (trigger) in the polymer matrix. Further, ClO2 gas was released for a longer time. Therefore, the as-prepared smart sachet can be tuned according to applications and packaging sizes to serve an optimal sterilization effect.

Development of AHP-based Aviation Logistics MPE Company's Production Management Job Training (AHP 기반 항공물류 소부장 전문기업의 생산관리 직무교육 개발 방안)

  • In this study, AHP-based production management job training was developed for MPE companies in the aviation logistics industry. The AHP model was designed with upper and lower classes. Purchase management competency, material management competency, process management competency, and SCM competency were selected as factors of the upper class of production management job training. Lower class evaluation factors were selected for each upper class. As a result of AHP analysis, the relative importance of the upper class evaluation factors was found in the order of SCM competency (0.322), process management competency (0.314), material management competency (0.201), and purchase management competency (0.163). Among the upper classes, it was analyzed that the importance of SCM competency and process management competency was high. The final priority of evaluation factors for the development of the production management curriculum of MPE companies in the aviation logistics industry was analyzed as follows. First, supply chain performance management, which is the lower layer of SCM competency, was analyzed as the top priority factor, and the priorities of evaluation factors were derived such as facility preservation management, which is the lower layer of SCM competency, supply chain production operation, which is the lower layer of SCM competency, process quality management, which is the lower layer of SCM competency, supply chain transportation management, and supply chain supply plan, which are the lower layers of SCM competency

Analysis of Impacts of Aggressive Driving Events on Traffic Stream Using Driving and Traffic Simulations (주행 및 교통 시뮬레이션을 이용한 공격운전이 교통류에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • Aggressive driving leads to a greater crash potential because it threatens surrounding vehicles. This study conducted traffic simulation experiments using driving behavior data obtained from multi-agent driving simulations. VISSIM traffic simulator and surrogate safety assessment model (SSAM) were used to identify the impacts of aggressive driving on traffic stream in terms of safety and operational efficiency. Market penetration rates (MPR) of aggressive driving vehicle, coupled with various traffic conditions, were taken into consideration in analyzing the impacts. As expected, it was identified that aggressive driving vehicles tended to deteriorate the traffic safety performance. From the perspective of operational efficiency, interesting results were observable. Under level of service (LOS) A, B, and C, it was observed that the average travel speed increased with greater MPRs. Conversely, the average travel speed decreased with under LOS D and E conditions. The outcome of this study would be effectively used for developing safety-related policies for reducing aggressive driving behavior.

  • As the environment of Logistics is changing rapidly, the environment of port is also changing. Accordingly, rapid change within port environment appears as the increase of the volume for world wide cargo, liner ship owners' strategy shift, globalization of terminals, heavy competitions to become a hub of Logistics, development of ship engineering. Therefore, the people who are responsible for the operations and managements of ports foresee such changes and accordingly react to ensure competitiveness. As the competition among ports generally goes international, a port needs to be sure that they become superior to any other port regardless of whether it's outside their country or not. Especially Korea is located in the most heavily competitive area which is Far-East. So if we fail to get competitiveness against the other ports, it goes without saying that our ports will be defeated by them. In brief, this paper will discuss the history of study regarding the factors by which a port is selected and also suggest some of elements which can be applied to small ports in the future of it.

Design of a synchronization controller for non-rail mobile rack using repetitive control method (반복제어기법을 이용한 무궤도 이동랙 동기화제어기 설계)

  • The non-rail mobile rack, which is used for cargo storage, can improve the storage capacities of logistics centers. Furthermore, it has the advantage that it can be used in traditional logistics centers without making any changes or renovation, such as installing rails. However, when the rack is operated by separated drive actuators mounted on the left and the right wheels, precise position control of the wheels is necessary even if the unbalanced cargo weight on the rack would affect the control. Therefore, internal synchronization control for position tracking between the left and right wheels on the non-rail mobile rack is necessary in this study. In addition, external synchronization control for realizing the same straight movements between mobile racks is necessary. For the internal and the external synchronization control, we propose a synchronization control algorithm based on the repetitive control theory. An internal synchronization control algorithm with repetitive control theory requires the application of the robust servo control method owing to parameter variations. In this case, we can set up the gains for the robust servo control system by considering the cargo variations on the mobile rack. Furthermore, for developing the external synchronization control algorithm, we use a double repetitive control system to perform synchronization control between mobile racks. The efficiency of the proposed control algorithm will be verified by simulation and experimental results. The proposed algorithm can be easily applied in the industry.

  • New infectious diseases such as MERS have been in need of many measures such as initial discovery, isolation, and crisis response. In addition, the culture of hospitals is changing, such as the general public 's visiting and Nursing Care Integration Services. However, as the qualifications and regulations of medical personnel in hospitals become rigid, overseas such as linens, wastes movements are replacing possible works with robots. we have developed a hospital logistics robot that can carry out various goods delivery within a hospital, and can move various kinds of objects safely to a desired location. In this thesis, we have studied a hospital logistics robot that can carry out various kinds of goods delivery within the hospital, and can move various kinds of objects such as waste, and linen safely to a desired location. The movement of a robot in a hospital may cause a collision between a person and an object, so that the collision must be prevented. In order to prevent collision, it is necessary to recognize whether or not an object exists in the movement path of the robot. And if there is an object, it should recognize whether it moves or not. In order to recognize human beings and objects, we recognize the person with face/body recognition technology and generate the context awareness of the object using 3D Vision image segmentation technology. We use the generated information to create a map that considers objects and person in the robot moving range. Thus, the robot can be operated safely and efficiently.
