Development of a Silver-care Curriculum for an aging society (고령화사회에 부응하는 실버케어 교육 과정의 개발)

  • Since our country is rapidly progressing from an aging society to an advanced age society, it already puts in effect basic old-age pension system, hurries training human resources like care-giver, and has ahead offering the aged long-term care insurance. But our country still needs to develop a systematic curriculum in order to train professionals that can fundamentally deal with an aging society problems. In this paper, therefore, we describe the development of a curriculum for training silver-care professionals improving qualities of old person life in order to suit to an aged society and prepare for an advanced age society. It includes a network model of a silver-care curriculum based on subject classifications according to fields and levels.

  • This research is based upon the nursing statistical data published by the Institute of Nursing Policy in 2007, on behalf of Korea nursing association. We analyzed the problems on the healthcare human resources supply in Korea. We suggest that a solution is to adopt immigration policy for foreign workforce employment. The result of the research shows that more than 1,000 nurses are registrated every year except for 2004, according to the yearly status of healthcare jobs. The variance of doctors' registration was quite significant. Compared to 750 registrations in 2004, 4000 doctors were registered in 2002. The healthcare accounts for the property of citizens in terms, which represents the health and lives of everyone, so the country must take all measures to supply the healthcare services in need. Focusing on the underdeveloped region where it is difficult to approach the medical services, the foreign workforce could be added into the healthcare profession field. We conclude that employing foreign healthcare professionals will contribute to the improvement of lives in those people living in underdeveloped region, as well as unity of the local community.

  • In 1995, the department of multimedia-related study was first founded in Technical Institute and has carried out the fundamental education at academic level in trial and error. Following a bubble situation of multimedia-related industries, the education of multimedia-related departments has mass-produced hurriedly prepared multimedia designers and programmers. With the current IMF economic crisis, demand for the multimedia expert manpower has shrunk drastically and competitiveness for getting a job becomes intense. Therefore, it is an urgent problem to specialize the multimedia education of Technical Institute and to differentiate it from the education of Universe. In this paper, I am going to analyze the cause of various practical problems occurring in the multimedia education in Technical Institute and to suggest the solution and education goal for the specialized and differentiated education in multimedia-related department of Technical Institute.

A Study on the Acquisition of Subject Specialized Manpower and Institutionalization (주제전문인력 확보 및 제도화 방안에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, an investigation has been made on the status of the issuance of librarian qualification, the status of operating Subject specialized librarians at home and abroad, the status of professional manpower of the similar cultural facilities, and their recruitment method, based on which an attempt has been made to propose a way to nurture the Subject specialized librarians. First, I propose a method for training Subject specialized librarians through a regular curriculum and a retraining process, while suggest the ways to nurture the Subject specialized librarians from undergraduate and also nurture the existing librarians to become the Subject specialized librarians. Second, the basic qualification of the Subject specialized librarians must have a career of more than 3 years in a specific subject area with a master's degree or higher, and in order to have a subject area background, it is proposed that a bachelor's degree or a master's degree must absolutely be acquired in the corresponding subject area. Third, in order to improve the treatment of such Subject specialized librarians, the Subject specialized librarians in the administrative service group could be organized into a research librarian (or library and information science) series and types as a subordinate literary series under the researcher position. That is, it is proposed to differentiate the librarians and the Subject specialized librarians by reorganizing series and types of the Subject specialized librarians while maintaining the current librarian series.

A Curriculum Development for IT Related Departments with Emphasis on Industry (주문식교육을 위한 IT관련학과의 교육과정 개발)

  • Recently, the college education is apart from the necessity of the industry. Therefore, the industry encounters short of the professional expert and the employment ratio of the college graduate is in decrease every year. In order to overcome this problem, an innovative and creative, new college curriculum is necessary, which can enhance the practical and yard-oriented ability for the student instead of the traditional desk-based theoretical knowledge. Thus, in order to improve the college curriculum, a quwstionnare survey for 42 industries located Busan and Kyungnam Province was made. The Questionnaire survey showed that the requirement of ERP was highest. Based on the industry questionnaire survey, an new IT related curriculum made to order by the industry, which can cultivate professional workers, is proposed in this paper.

  • The purpose of this study is identify the awareness and opinion of school librarians and teacher-librarians on the school library maker space. To do this, we used a semi-structured questionnaire to interview and analyzed in-depth telephone interviews of 7 school library professionals qualitatively. The recognition of makerspaces, the necessity of transforming school libraries into makerspaces and maker education, preparations and difficulties of implementation were investigated through the interview. As the result of interview analysis, school library professionals recognized that school library makerspace is essential to fulfill the users needs and important to enhance the library services. Also, school library professionals felt that it is desirable for the school library to function as a center for the in-school maker education program. Other important issues of the makerspace in school library were also identified. The key findings of this study are expected to be used as a momentum to activate the maker education centering on the school library.

The Effects of Attitude to Death in the Hospice and Palliative Professionals on Their Terminal Care Stress (호스피스 완화의료 전문인력의 죽음에 대한 태도가 임종돌봄 스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the effects of attitude to death in hospice and palliative professionals on their terminal care stress, and to analyze relationships among variables related to the two aforementioned parameters, such as depression and coping strategies. Methods: Participants were 131 hospice and palliative professionals from the cancer units of two tertiary hospitals and two general hospitals, two hospice facilities, two geriatric hospitals, and two convalescent hospitals in J province. Data were collected from April through June 2015 and analyzed using t-test, factor analysis, ANOVA ($Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test), ANCOVA, and Pearson's correlation and a path analysis using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 and AMOS 18.0 programs. Results: The score for attitude to death was low (2.63), and that for depression was 0.45. Among all, 16.0% of the participants showed need for depression management. They scored 3.82 on terminal care stress. The subcategory with the highest mark was inner conflicts on limitation given availability of medical services (4.04). The score on coping strategy was low (3.13). They used passive coping strategies such as interpersonal avoidance (4.03), fulfilling basic needs (3.65) such as sleeping or eating. Attitudes to death had a direct negative effect on the terminal care stress level and indirectly affected through depression and fulfilling basic needs (CS2). Conclusion: It is necessary to provide hospice and palliative professionals with education on death and dying, as well as access to programs that provide emotional support and promote positive cognition of death and dying.
