  • Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) produces two kind of torque that Magnetic and Reluctance torque. The permanent magnet linkage flux and d-axis and q-axis inductances have an important influence on the torque characteristic of IPMSM. Thus their accurate prediction is essential for predicting performance aspect such as the torque and flux-weakening capabilities. In this paper, is calculated by LC resonance method with FEM. The results are validated by comparison the calculated by another method.

  • 최근 에너지 절약 정책으로 인하여 기계, 가전, 자동차 및 로봇 응용 산업분야 등에서 고출력, 고효율 및 고성능의 전동기를 요구한다. 매입형 영구자석 동기 전동기(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)는 타 전동기와 비교하여 출력밀도가 높고 기계적으로 강인한 회전자 구조를 가지는 등 많은 장점을 가지고 있어 모든 산업에서 널리 사용되고 있으며, 그에 따른 연구도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 영구자석 동기 전동기 중 10극 45슬롯 매입형 영구자석 동기 전동기(IPMSM)의 영구자석 형상변화에 따른 특성을 비교 연구하고 전동기의 고출력밀도를 위한 영구자석의 형상을 제시한다.

In this paper, $L_d,\;L_q$ is calculated by LC resonance method with FEM. The results are validated by comparison the $L_d,\;L_q$ calculated by another method.

  • 본 논문에서는 매입형 영구자석 전동기(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)의 회전자 형상에 따른 철손의 변화를 고찰하였다. 철손 계산은 철손 수식의 계수들을 Curve Fitting Method (CFM)를 통하여 산정하였고, 자속밀도는 고정자의 자계 거동 및 고조파 분석을 통하여 계산하였다.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) for traction motor in the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) has different parameters and characteristics according to pole and slot combinations. The fitting combination of pole and slot in the IPMSM improves characteristics of traction system ultimately. This paper deals with analyzing the characteristics of IPMSM for mild type HEV according to pole and slot combinations. Based on the result of characteristics, suitable pole and slot combination is presented to maximize efficiency of traction motor in the HEV system.

  • This paper is about the development of 80[kW] IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) drive system for an electric vehicle. MTPA(Maximum Torque per Ampere) operation and flux-weakening operation for the optimal torque control of the IPMSM are presented. In this system, the torque control of the IPMSM is achieved by using the look-up table, which gives d- and q-aixs current references for the given torque command in the MTPA operation and flux-weakening operation regions. This look-up table is made by current injection tests, and from which the motor parameters are also estimated. The proposed system is verified by the experiment on the electric vehicle drive system, which consists of an 80[kW] IPMSM and an IGBT inverter.

Thermal Analysis of IPMSM with Water Cooling Jacket for Railway Vehicles

  • In this paper, the water cooling method among the forced coolant cooling methods is considered to be applied to the 110kW-class IPMSM for railway vehicles. First, basic thermal property analysis of the IPMSM is conducted using the three-dimensional thermal equivalent network method. Then, based on the results of the basic thermal property analysis, some design requirements for the water cooling jacket are deduced and a basic design of the water cooling jacket is carried out. Finally, thermal equivalent circuit of the water cooling jacket is attached to the IPMSM's 3D thermal equivalent network and then, the basic thermal and effectiveness analysis are conducted for the case of applying the water cooling jacket to the IPMSM. In the future, the thermal variation trends inside the IPMSM by the application of the water cooling jacket is expected to be quickly and easily predicted even at the design step of the railway traction motor.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate and compare the inductance evaluation methods of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSM). Three major finite element methods are discussed. Their detail calculation processes will be presented as well as their fundamental principles. Not only the results, but also their solving method, computation time and complexity also will be compared. Finally, the calculated results will be verified with an experiment.

  • To predict efficiency of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors(IPMSM) and to cope with the demagnetization risk of permanent magnets used in the IPMSM, accurate iron analysis of the IPMSM is very important at the motor design stage. In the analysis, we calculate the operation condition such as rotor speed and current angle. and then, we analyzed the iron loss of the machine for electric vehicle according to its driving condition. From the analysis results, it was shown that the harmonic iron losses of stator are larger than before at field-weakening region. In addition, it was revealed that rotor iron loss mainly induced by stator slot-ripples is independent of current angle and only varied according to the speed.

  • To predict efficiency of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors(IPMSM) and to cope with the demagnetization risk of permanent magnets used in the IPMSM, accurate iron analysis of the IPMSM is very important at the motor design stage. In the analysis, we developed a new iron loss model of electrical machines for high-speed operation. The calculated iron loss was compared with the experimental data. It was clarified that the proposed method can estimate iron loss effectively at high-speed operation.
