Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) is a very effective technique against transmission error at the medium access control (MAC) layer. An erroneous MAC protocol data unit can be typically retransmitted within a given limit. In order to improve the IP-level performance, which directly affects the user-perceived quality-of-service (QoS), we propose a new truncated ARQ strategy, called MAC service data unit-based ARQ (S-ARQ), where the finite number of opportunities for retransmissions are shared by multiple fragments out of an IP datagram. We describe how SARQ can be implemented in a practical system, and then propose another variant of S-ARQ employing a functionality called early detection of failure. Basically, we evaluate the performance of SARQ in two different manners. First, assuming i.i.d. error process, we analyze both the probability of the delivery failure and the average delay of IP datagram. Then, we assess the performance of S-ARQ via simulation over a 2-state Markov channel.

최근 연안지역에 선박 통항량, 다양한 양식업, 어로, 그리고 레저 활동이 증가하고 있어, 이에 따라 안전한 항해 통신 정보를 위한 다양한 통신 서비스가 요구되어 왔다. 본 논문은 다중 인터페이스를 가진 이동 IP 라우터를 이용한 해안 지역에서 통신 서비스 지원 방안에 관한 것이다. 이를 위하여, 이 시스템은 선박에게 다양한 통신 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 WiBro, HSDPA, 그리고 WLAN와 같은 무선 인터페이스를 가지고 있어, 해안을 따라서 설치된 무선망을 통하여 선박에게 다양한 정보통신 서비스를 실시간으로 제공할 수 있다. 따라서 이 시스템은 공인된 끊김 없는 정보 통신 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 인프라를 제공할 수 있다.

In the TV broadcasting, movie production and business the transportation of video between creators (programmers, studios) and distributors (broadcast and cable networks, cable and satellites companies) is still a mix of File Transfer Protocol (FTP), physical delivery, and expensive multicast satellite. Cloud-based file sync-and-share providers like Dropbox and box are playing an increasing role, but the industry's unique demands for speed and multicasting have fueled the growth of IP Video transport. This paper gives a solid grasp of the major elements of IP video technology, including content preparation, system architecture alternatives and network performance management.

근원지 IP 주소가 스푸핑된 패킷을 통해 많은 양의 DDoS 트래픽이 발생할 경우 서비스 거부 현상이 발생하게 된다. 이에 대한 대응 기술로 제시된 IP 역추적 기술은 DDoS 공격의 근원지를 판별하면서도 공격 패킷의 전달 경로를 재구성하여 역추적하는 기법이다. 기존의 기법은 크게 패킷을 중심으로한 마킹 방법과 역추적 메시지를 이용한 방법 등으로 나눌 수 있다. 기존의 기법은 현재의 인터넷 환경에서 적용하였을 경우 DDoS 공격에 대해 능동적으로 대응하지 못하고 네트워크 부하를 증가시킨다는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 Pushback 기법을 적용하여 라우터를 중심으로 DDoS 공격 근원지를 역추적하는 ICMP traceback 기반 역추적 기법을 제시하였다.

This paper proposes a new Web based-control concept & design method and implementation of LonWorks network system for a large scale renewable energy energy control and monitoring system in building. The Experimental LonWorks network system using LonWorks/Ethernet(Web) server is designed and fabricated. This article addresses issues in architecture of LonWorks/Ethernet sever, embedded processors architecture for converting LonTalks protocol to Modbus protocol and software, and Internet technologies. It is also verified that the multi-induction motor control and monitoring system using LonWorks/Ethernet server have available, interoperable, reliable performance characteristics from the experimental results, Especially, The seamless integration of TCP/IP networks with control networks allows access to any control point from anywhere. Thus, the results provide a available technical data for remote distributed control system of industrial and buildings field.

An experimentation on the on-line fault detection and diagnosis(FDD) system has been performed with HVAC system in he experimental building constructed inside the large scale environmental chamber. Personal computer with a home-made FDD program by pattern recognition method utilizing artificial neural network was connected on-line via Ether-net TCP/IP to the supervisory control server for HVAC system. The FDD program monitored the HVAC system by 1 minuted interval. The results showed that he FDD program detected the sudden or abrupt faults such s those in fans, sensors and heater, etc.

This thesis proposed a method that connecting step motor to image send board which can acquire image to move and remote controlling via streaming image board of PDA(personal digital assistant) based on embedded Linux which is using wireless network There are three embedded Linux system to embody movable image send board. First, though the wireless network a signal of PDA is transmitted to the board which has embedded Linux and a system which is controlled by the expansion I/O port of the board. Second, it's a system streaming realtime image at a PDA which has embedded Linux. The last is a system which controls a process of image board using TCP/IP communication and image send board at PC. These are the system which can use industrial settings and homes. It can also make use of an embodiment method about travelling image robot.

Ethernet-based passive optical network(EPON) technology is being considered as a promising solution for next-generation broadband access network. It must have the property of high efficiency, low cost, and support quality of service(QoS). A major feature for this new architecture is the use of a shared transmission media between all connected optical network unit(ONU). Hence, medium access control(MAC) arbitration mechanisms are essential for the successful implementation of EPON. In this paper we propose a simple dynamic bandwidth allocation(DBA) algorithm that improves the performance of network and supports IP-based multimedia applications with the bursty data traffic. In addition, we introduce analytic models of proposed algorithms and prove the system based on our algorithm to be asymptotically stable. Simulation results show the new DBA algorithm provides high bandwidth efficiency and low queueing delay of ONU in EPON.

Because of the rapid growth of the mobile communication, the need for the mobile internet access has grown up as well. since the current mobile communication network, however, is optimized for a voice communication system, which exclusively occupies a channel for a given time, it is not suitable for variable rate packet data. In order to support the mobile internet access, it is essential do design a reasonable packet switching network which supports the mobility. Since mobile packet network has longer latency, high speed switching and QoS are required to meet the user's requirements. In this paper, we suggest an resonable way to construct a network and its operation procedures utilizing GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) network and MPLS(Multi Protocol Label Switching) to provide a high speed switching and QoS mobile internet access. GPRS is used as a network which supports the mobility and MPLS guarantees the QoS and high speed IP protocol transmission based on the ATM switching technology.

사용자는 기존의 간단한 아날로그 음성 서비스의 수준을 넘어서, 저렴한 서비스를 이용하여 고품질의 음성 서비스, 고속의 데이타 서비스, VOD, 화상회의 등의 서비스를 요구하고 있다. 가입자 요구에 맞는 멀티미디어 등의 광대역 서비스를 제공하는 한 방법은 가입자 댁내까지 광케이블망을 구축하는 것이다, 그러나 이런 광대역 케이블링이 예상되는 모든 가입자에게 제공되는 데는 장기간이 소요될 것이며, 막대한 비용이 투자되어야 하므로 그 실현이 요원하다. 동선을 활용한 xDSL 기술 중 VDSL 는 대칭/비대칭 서비스가 가능하며 최고 50Mbps 급의 멀티미디어 서비스가 가능하다. KT에서 현재 서비스를 제공중인 xDSL 서비스에 대해서 살펴보고 이들 장비를 관리 해주고 있는 IP-xDSL 망관리시스템 구조와 관리 기능 등을 고찰한다.
