  • Mobile multimedia services such as TV-call or video streaming are gradually becoming popular in the 3rd or more generation mobile network (IMT-2000). Multimedia traffic is expected to continue increasing into the coming years, and IP technology is considered to be the efficient way of transporting such huge volumes of multimedia traffic. IP-based IMT network platform represents an evolution from IMT-2000. The structure of IP-based IMT network as ubiquitous platform is three-layered model : Middleware including Network Control PlatForm (NCPF) and Service Support PlatForm (SSPF), IP-BackBone (IP-BB), access network including sensor network. Mobility Management (MM) architecture in NCPF is proposed for IP-based IMT network in order to manage routing information and location information separately. The generous existing method of multicast control in IP-based IMT network is Remote Subscription. But Remote Subscription has problem that should be reconstructed whole multicast tree when sender in multicast tree moves to another area. To solve this problem, we propose the way to put Multicast-manager in NCPF.

Design of Internet Telephony Network System using Open Source Softwares (오픈 소스 소프트웨어를 활용한 인터넷 전화망 시스템 설계)

  • Internet telephony is an Internet service which supports voice telephone using VoIP technology on the IP-based Internet. It has some advantages in that voice telephone services can be accompanied with multimedia services such as video communication and messaging services. Recently, the introduction of smart phones has led to a growth in social networking services and thus, the research and development of Internet telephony has been actively progressed and has the potential to become a replacement for the telephone service that is currently being used. In this paper we designed and implemented an Internet telephony network system which is developed by using Asterisk and open source softwares. It is developed on the linux system and has some features such as VoIP telephony service between SIP phones, voice mail, and call recording. It also supports web-based functions such as SIP users and server system management that is implemented by Apache web server and PHP programs. Afterwards, this system will be applied as VoIP network base technology for small sized companies and organizations. It will paly a role for encouraging companies to use open source softwares.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of an efficient multi-point multimedia conference system using IP grouping. Existing multi-point multimedia conference systems are difficult for multi-user to perform efficient cooperation due to bandwidth limitation for data transmission of video, audio and documentation. In the case that multi-user uses limited bandwidth, smooth cooperation does not accomplish due to transmission delay for the real-time transmission of image and speech data. A hybrid transfer method which is mixed with distributed and centralized methods is used for smooth cooperation, and the network bandwidth is reduced by forming multi-user conference systems of IP grouping in this paper. Also, adaptive image frame variations are used to solve bottleneck effect according to the number of users. An efficient multi-user conference system is designed to support audio quality.

  • Tactical communication environment evolving for the purpose of providing services such as voice, video and text based on ALL-IP. Therefore, To be able to guarantee QoS level which meets the required level of subscriber for these services in the constrained tactical communication infrastructure, it is required to take the characteristics such as wireless transmission link, mobility of troops or personal into service quality scheme. In this paper, to support differentiated QoS for each individual or mission in the tactical communication environment, we presents a technique that can provide same QoS level which was served originally regardless of the situation to user's move through dynamically determining the QoS level to be provided at the time of the service request on VoIP-Switch.

SePH: Seamless Proxy-based Handoff Scheme in IP-based Heterogeneous Mobile Networks (이기종의 모바일 IP 네트워크에서 끊김없는 프록시 기반의 핸드오프 기법)

  • In Next Generation Wireless Networks (NGWN), lots of information, such as voice and video data, will be used in All-IP networks. It is important note that seamless service for users and handoff between heterogeneous networks must be taken into account in such environments. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a SePH(Seamless Proxy based Handoff) using PMIPv6-based proxy model which is enable to improve the performance of handoff in NGWN. The SePH can efficiently support seamless and IP-based mobility by reducing the search process. The performance results show that our proposed scheme outperforms in terms of QoS (Quality of Service) such as throughput, handoff latency, packet loss, and signaling overhead comparing to the existing schemes.

  • In this paper, to provide various services of QoS, and moreover applying traffic ratio to CAC(Call Admission Control) algorithm tested how long average data rate and the average packet delay time. When CAC algorithm is not applied, traffic mixture ratio is 1:1:4:4, the FTP Service 0.4, web services 0.6, streaming service 0.7, the packet delay requirements are not satisfied. On the other hand CAC Algorithm is applied, all the service of packet delay are satisfied with arrival rate. Therefore, we can make sure that applying of CAC of traffic control WWW, FTP, Video, VoIP can guarantee the various services of QoS.

  • Recent advances in video coding technology have resulted in rapid growth of application in mobile communication, With this explosive growth reliable transmission and error resilient technique become increasingly necessary to offer high quality multimedia service. In this paper, we present the result of our investigation on the error resilient performance evaluation of the MPEG-4 simple profile under the H.324/M and the H.264/AVC baseline under the IP packet networks. Especially, we have tested error resilient tools of MPEG-4 simple profile such as resynchronization marker insertion, data partitioning, and of H.264/AVC baseline such as the flexible macroblock ordering (FMO) scheme. The objective quality of decoded video is measured in terms of rate and PSNR under various random bit and burst error conditions.

  • The 2-D discrete cosine transform (DCT) is an integral part of video and image processing; it is used in both the PEG and MPEG enciding standards. As streaming video is brought to mobile devices, it becomes important that it is possible to calculate the DCT in an energy-efficient manner. In this paper, we present a new algorithm the DCT with a linear array PEs. This design is optimized for energy efficiency. We analyze the energy, area, and latency tradeoffs available with this design and then compare its energy dissipation, area, and latency to those of Xilinx's optimized IP core.

  • 최근 그룹 통신 분야에서 전통적으로 대표되는 IP 멀티캐스트의 대안기술로서 호스트기반 멀티캐스트 및 P2P시스템은 기존의 IP 멀티캐스트의 단점을 극복하고자 하는 연구이다. 이러한 호스트기반 멀티캐스트는 사용자 중심의 서비스를 제공함으로써 다양한 네트워크 환경에서 누구나 사용자들이 효율적으로 데이터를 공유하게 해주고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 협동 기반의 호스트 멀티캐스트를 사용하여 미디어 서비스를 제공하는 VOD 시스템 전반에 관한 연구를 수행하고 이러한 VOD의 서비스를 고도화 하고자 한다. 보다 구체적으로는 패칭 기법을 사용하여 사용자간의 전달 지연을 최소화 할 수 있는 효율적인 자료 전송 경로를 설정 방법과 주문형 비디오 서버를 위한 현실적인 호스트 기반 멀티캐스트 트리 구성 모델을 제시하고자 한다.

FPGA-Based Post-Quantum Cryptography Hardware Accelerator Design using High Level Synthesis (HLS 를 이용한 FPGA 기반 양자내성암호 하드웨어 가속기 설계)

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of Crystals-Kyber, a next-generation postquantum cryptography, as a hardware accelerator on an FPGA using High-Level Synthesis (HLS). We optimized the Crystals-Kyber algorithm using various directives provided by Vitis HLS, configured the AXI interface, and designed a hardware accelerator that can be implemented on an FPGA. Then, we used Vivado tool to design the IP block and implement it on the ZYNQ ZCU106 FPGA. Finally, the video was recorded and H.264 compressed with Python code in the PYNQ framework, and the video encryption and decryption were accelerated using Crystals-Kyber hardware accelerator implemented on the FPGA.
