  • 현 3D 실험방송은 좌 영상과 우 영상의 듀얼 스트림을 전송하는 서비스 호환 3D서비스를 제공하고 있다. 이와 같은 방식은 지상파를 이용해 전송되므로 제한된 대역폭에 따른 화질의 저하가 불가피한 것으로 여겨진다. 이에 본 논문에서는 상기 두 영상을 각각 기존의 지상파와 IP망으로 전송하여 화질의 열화 없이 안정적인 화질을 제공할 수 있는 MMT와 MPEG2-TS 융합형 Hybrid 3D 방송 시스템을 제안하였다. 제안한 시스템은 기존의 지상파를 통해 주영상을 MMT의 GFD mode를 이용하여 보조영상을 전송하여 두 영상의 동기화를 통해 고화질 스테레오스코픽 영상을 구성한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 MPEG2-TS와 MMT의 GFD mode의 파일 구성을 각각 분석하고, 실험결과를 통해 제안한 MMT와 MPEG2-TS 융합형 Hybrid 3D 방송 시스템을 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 RMCP(Relayed Multicast Control Protocol)[1]를 이용하여 효율적으로 미디어 스트림을 전송할 수 있도록 구현하기 위한 구조를 소개한다. 일반적으로 IP 멀티캐스팅 서비스를 구현하기 위하여 멀티캐스팅 라우터를 이용하여 여러 수신자들에게 서비스를 제공하여 준다. 그러나 멀티캐스팅 라우터를 이용하여 멀티캐스팅 서비스를 구현할 때, 사업적, 기술적 측면에서 많은 문제점을 가지게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 보완하고자 응용 계층에서 중계 기능을 제공하며, 기존에 있는 네트웍 망을 그대로 이용하면서, 멀티 캐스트 서비스를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 멀티캐스트 전송 방법을 이용한 멀티캐스트 응용 프로그램을 개발하기 위하여 고려해야 할 사항들을 설명한다. 차후 이 구조 기반으로 실제적으로 미디어 스트림을 전송하는 프로그램을 구현하고자 한다.

  • 국내에서는 ATSC 3.0 기반의 UHD 방송이 실시되고 있으며 ATSC 3.0 기반의 이동방송에 대해서도 논의가 진행되고 있다. ATSC 3.0 규격은 기존의 전통적인 방식의 방송 서비스뿐만 아니라 통신서비스와 연동된 방송통신융합 서비스의 구현을 용이하기 위해 IP 규격을 대거 도입하였다. 이러한 과정에서 수신기에 대한 다양한 요구사항이 도출되어 있고 수신기 제품을 개발하기 위해 고려해야 할 요소들도 증가하게 되었다. ATSC 3.0 방송은 현재 서비스의 도입 단계이고 본격적인 시장이 형성되는 과정까지 수신기와 관련된 추가적인 기술개발 및 제품 구현이 진행되어야 하는 상태이다. 이와 관련하여 본 논문에서는 ATSC 3.0 기반의 UHD 수신기를 개발하기 위해 고려해야 할 사항들과 개발된 수신기를 검증하기 위한 시험 과정을 기술한다.

  • These days rapid improvement in Mobile phones and their multimedia limits made them powerful enough to manage complicated tasks. Image processing related support for mobile devices is extremely comprehensive in wireless telemedicine. A basic challenge is how to get best quality of image with the limited screen size and resources of mobile phones. This paper deals with image processing features (capturing rendering and zooming in and out) of Mobile Media API and Advanced Multimedia Supplements (MMAPI and AMS) developed for Mobile Java Platform and customized algorithm is designed to keep all image task cost efficient by using minimum device resources and memory. This scenario is driven by the need for evaluation of a distant patient that cannot be moved to the expert.

  • DDoS attack has been continuously utilized that caused the excessively large amount of traffic that network bandwidth or server was unable to deal with paralyzing the service. Most of the people regard NTP as the biggest cause of DDoS. However, according to recently executed DDoS attack, there have been many SSDP attack in the use of amplified technique. According to characteristics of SSDP, there is no connection for making a forgery of source IP address and amplified resources feasible. Therefore, it is frequently used for attack. Especially, as it is mostly used as a protocol for causing DDoS attack on IoT devices that constitute smart home including a wireless router, media server, webcam, smart TV, and network printer. Hereupon, it is anticipated for servers of attacks to gradually increase. This might cause a serious threat to major information of human lives, major government bodies, and company system as well as on IoT devices. This study is intended to identify DDoS attack techniques in the use of weakness of SSDP protocol occurring in IoT devices and attacking scenario and counter-measures on them.

Design and Implementation of 8K UHD Encapsulation Method for Efficient Transmission and Reception based on MMT

  • In this Paper, we propose 8K UHD (Ultra High Definition) encapsulation method for efficient transmission and reception based on MMT (MPEG Media Transport). Broadcasting services for 8K UHD allow users to feel the maximized reality. However, present technology is difficult to provide 8K UHD in broadcasting networks, because the 8K UHD bitrate is too high to be transmitted in the current broadcasting networks. Research for transmitting 8K UHD is underway. In some researches, a receiver is implemented with four 4K UHD display instead of a 8K UHD display. In order to transmit 8K UHD within the limited transmission bitrate of broadcasting network, 8K UHD contents encoded by SHVC (Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding) and then transmitted over heterogeneous network. For using the broadcasting and communication networks, MMT standard is used. MMT is IP based transmission protocol as the next generation transmission protocol. According to the MMT standard, video stream encapsulated and transmitted in MMTP (MMT Protocol) packet. IP-based broadcasting and communication networks can be used to transmit simultaneously, and the receiver can synchronize and play it. We propose an encapsulation method that can efficiently transmit and receive 8K UHD. The proposed method increases a payload rate and decreases an initial delay at the receiver. We show that the efficiency of the proposed method is verified by experimental tests.

  • Recently, various applications using real-time face detection have been developed as face recognition technology and hardware grows. While network service is developing and video instruments costs lower, it is needed that smart surveillance camera and service using network camera based on IP and face detection technology. However, videos should be compressed for reducing network bandwidth and storage capacity in surveillance system. As it requires high-level improvement of system performance when all the compressed frames are processed in a face detection program, fast face detection method is needed. In this paper, not only a fast way of algorithm using Haar like features and adaboost learning and motion information but also an application on broadcast system is suggested.

  • In crowded subway stations indoor air quality (IAQ) is a key factor for ensuring the safety and health of passengers. Since physical variables that describing IAQ such as the concentration of particulate, $CO_2$, VOCs and biological agents need to be closely monitored and controlled in multiple locations within subway stations and in remote sites, concept of web-based monitoring and control network using both wireless and wired media needs to be implemented. Connecting remote wireless sensor network and device (LonWorks) networks to the IP network based on the concept of VDN can provide a powerful, integrated, distributed monitoring and control performance. In this study, performance of wireless and wired network in VDN for monitoring and control of IAQ in subway stations is evaluated. Specifically, delay induced in wireless and wired networks, and data transmission rate are evaluated. A key parameter is identified in assuring safety and health of passengers in subway stations.

  • Recently there are increasing needs for Internet and various kinds of contents. These traffics for various contents need more amount of data to provide high-quality information and require various QoS depending on the characteristics of contents. However, current Internet service supports BE (Best Effort) service only, therefore IntServ (Integrated Service) scheme and DiffServ (Differentiated Service) scheme are represented to support QoS in IP layer. Moreover, while wireless Internet is getting popular, MAC(Medium Access Control) is also becoming important. This is due to the fact that wireless access, resource allocation and packet scheduling, which are done in another layers before, are performed in MAC layer in many new wireless systems. This paper describes new scheme that provides QoS taking into account the traffic characteristics over Mobile IPv6 network based on IEEE 802.11e EDCF and evaluates the performance through computer simulation.

  • Tactical networks are evolving into an All-IP based network for network centric warfare(NCW). Owing to the flexibility of IP based network, various military data applications including real-time and multi-media services are being integrated in tactical networks. Because each application has diverse Quality-of-service(QoS) requirements, it is crucial to develop a QoS provisioning method for guaranteeing QoS requirements efficiently. Conventionally, differentiated services(DiffServ) have been used to provide a different level of QoS for traffic flows. However, DiffServ is not designed to guarantee a specific requirement of QoS such as delay, loss, and bandwidth. Therefore, it is not suitable for military applications with a tight bound of QoS requirements. In this paper, we propose a multi-layer network virtualization scheme that allocates traffic flows having different QoS requirements to multiple virtual networks, which are constructed to support different QoS policies such as virtual network functions(VNFs), routing, queueing/active queue management(AQM), and physical layer policy. The experiment results indicate that the proposed scheme achieves lower delays and losses through multiple virtual networks having differentiated QoS policies in comparison with conventional networks.
