New Trend Proposal in Optimization Techniques Application for Mobile Network, Analysis and Signal Processing

  • Used optimization techniques as solution for mobile network have been implemented as a reference systems for various applications against fading and signals perturbation, in addition each transition to 5th generation telecommunication standards require a deep studies in order to park an applied instantaneous process. The paper describes a preliminary planning and a careful preparation to update both subscriber radio access network as well as data transmission network this approach conducts to make network resource updates invisible for customers and with minimal costs for mobile operators basically in terms of delay. In addition, network operators transit to mobile networks, multimedia services efficient delivery are considered the challenging application and the most promising for mobile network operators today, this work conduct to optimize video consumption of mobile users which are exponentially increasing. The interference is a complex phenomenon in mobile radio telecommunication system, and a mobile phone can be a source of interference to another one. Actual advances in technology necessitate the need for the complicated software solution that can take several unexpected phenomena in consideration to rise to a level higher than ever. The capability needs today require the use of Drive test which is used to take the performance of network in the field by using a special software called TEMS investigation, it have been implemented as standalone systems for various applications. The paper focuses on considering as the best technical for optimization of mobile networks, analysis and processing of signal, a Drive Test is the method used to take the performance of network in the field by using a special software called TEMS investigation. Most used in the world, this software is reputed to detect and analyze many problems of mobile network between the mobile phone and the transmitter: BTS in case of GSM and Node B for UMTS. An example of that is interference in radio communication. It exists permanently and it degrades considerably the quality of received signal when it exceeds certain levels.

Performance evaluation on Fault Current Controller System for the Applications of Smart Grid

  • This paper presents simulation and small-scale experimental tests of a fault current controller. Smart fault controller as proposed and proven conceptually in our previous work is promising technology for the smart power grid where distributed and even stochastic generation sources are prevalent and grid operations are more dynamic. Existing protection schemes simply limiting the fault current to the pre-determined set values may not show best performance and even lead to coordination failures, potentially leading to catastrophic failure. Thus, this paper designs fault current controller with a full bridge thyristor rectifier, embedding a superconducting coil for which the controller is electrically invisible during normal operation because the loss due to the coil is near-zero. When a fault occurs and the resulting current through the superconducting coil exceeds a certain value set intelligently based on the current operating condition of the grid, the magnitude of the fault current is controlled to this desired value by adjusting the firing angles of thyristors such that the overall system integrity is successfully maintained. Detailed time-domain simulations are performed and lab-scale testing circuits are built to demonstrate the desired functionality and efficacy of the proposed fault current controller.

FUZZY 추론 시스템 기반 미세먼지 판단 (Fine particulate Judgment based on Fuzzy Inference System)

  • WHO 산하 국제 암 연구소 에서는 미세먼지를 1급 발암물질로 지정했다. 미세먼지는 대기 중에 떠다니며 눈에 보이지 않을 정도로 작은 먼지를 말한다. 미세먼지는 주로 석탄이나 석유 같은 화석연료의 연소과정에서 배출되며, 페질환, 페렴, 심장질환을 유발 할 수 있는 위험 인자 이다. 환경부에서는, 최근 미세먼지 측정소 10곳의 산출자료를 분석한 결과, 약 60% 정도가 기존 대기측정농도가 더 높게 나오는 오류가 있다고 발표하였다. 미세먼지를 정확하게 예측하기 위해서는, 풍향, 측정위치를 반드시 보정해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서, 퍼지 규칙을 이용해서 이러한 문제점을 해결하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 길거리 보행자가 실제로 느끼는 미세먼지 체감지수를 산출하기 위해서, 본 논문에서는 날씨조건, 온도조건, 습도조건, 바람조건을 고려한 미세먼지 체감지수 산출 컴퓨터 모의실험을 수행 하였다.

감정이입에 의한 디자인 접근방법 (Design Process by the Empathy)

  • 대부분의 사람들은 영화, 오페라를 포함한 무대드라마, 그림, 조각, 음악, 과학적 발견, 구경거리, 석양이나 북극광 같은 자연적인 장면에 감정적으로 반응한다. 그리고 그것에 대해 경외감이나 카타르시스를 느낀다. 물론, 디자인 결과물을 통해서도 이러한 감정적 반응이 나타남을 알 수 있다. 감정이 일어나기 위해서는, 자신이 보고 있는 것의 의미를 느끼는데 적극적으로 참여해야 한다. 우리는 그림, 음악, 드라마, 영화의 내용과 관계를 맺으려고 노력한다 즉, 그런 예술 형태에서 의식적으로 의미를 찾으려 한다. 이처럼 인간은 형태, 색채, 크기, 질감 등의 유형적인 정적질서 외에 의미, 방식, 행태, 지혜 등의 무형적인 동적질서에서 크게 감정(선호, 호감)을 느끼고 의식, 무의식적으로 의미를 찾으려 한다. 새 밀레니엄 시대의 제품은 새로운 기능에 대한 적절한 대응과 인간의 감정 수반에 대한 요구가 증대될 것으로 본다. 이에 제품의 의미, 새로운 인터페이스, 인간감정에 대한 기초 연구를 위하여 디자이너의 동적질서에 대한 연구는 현시점에서 중요한 요건으로 생각된다. 본 연구에서는 디자이너가 동적질서를 탐구하는데 있어서의 효율적인 접근방법으로 "감정이입" 이라는 사고 유형을 적용함으로서 디자인 아이디어 전개에 있어서 보다 이상적인 상상력을 발휘할 수 있도록 사고를 활용하는 방법을 소개하고 사례연구를 통하여 그 유용성을 고찰 하고자 하였다. 연구를 통하여 감정이입을 하려면 대상이 분출하는 미묘한 감정신호를 감성의 두뇌로 수용하고 모방할 수 있을 정도의 평정과 수용성이 필요하게 됨을 알 수 있었고, 이러한 조건에 부합된 사례연구를 통하여 동적질서에 대한 디자인 정보로서의 중요성에 대한 인식과 표현 가능성 및 표현 유형들에 대한 고찰을 함으로서 감정이입에 의한 디자인 접근의 유용성을 확인할 수 있었다.

캐빈형 콤바인의 시계성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Visibility Evaluation for Cabin Type Combine)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a visibility evaluation system for cabin type combine. Human's field of view was classified into five levels (perceptive, effective, stable gaze, induced, and auxiliary) depending on rotation of human's head and eye. Divider, reaper lever, gearshift, dashboard, and conveying part were considered as major viewpoints of combine. Visibilities of combine was evaluated quantitatively using the viewpoints and the human's field of view levels. The visibility evaluation system for cabin type combine was consisted of a laser pointer, stepping motors to control the direction of view, gyro sensors to measure horizontal and vertical angle, and I/O interface to acquire the signals. Tests were conducted with different postures ('sitting straight', 'sitting with $15^{\circ}$ tilt', 'standing straight', and 'standing with $15^{\circ}$ tilt'). The LSD (least significant difference) multiple comparison tests showed that the visibilities of viewpoints were different significantly as the operator's postures were changed. The results showed that the posture at standing with $15^{\circ}$ tilt provided the best visibility for operators. The divider of the combine was invisible due to blocking with the cabin frame at many postures. The reaper lever showed good visibilities at the postures of sitting or standing with $15^{\circ}$ tilt. The gearshift, the dashboard, and the conveying part had reasonable visibilities at the posture of sitting with $15^{\circ}$ tilt. However, most viewpoints of the combine were out of the stable gaze field of view level. Modifications of the combine design will be required to enhance the visibility during harvesting operation for farmers' safety and convenience.

공공기관의 공공성 이행 검토: 의료분쟁조정중재원 사례를 중심으로 (The Publicness of Public Institutions: Case Study on the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency)

  • Background: Based on the fact that the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency is a public institution established by social demands for medical disputes, this study reviews the publicness of public organization and discusses its policy implications. Methods: Through Moore's strategic triangle, which consists of legitimacy and support, public value and operational capacity, the process of creating public value is examined. For the analysis, case studies were conducted using related literature data from 2012, when the agency was established, to the present. Results: As a result of the analysis, first, the related law examined in the operational capability has been revised dozens of times, but the revised law has its own contradictions and limitations. The human resource system is also being improved, but there is a problem with the fairness and reliability of the arbitration process, especially due to the limitations of the appraiser system. Second, in terms of legitimacy and support, a regional gap occurred despite efforts to improve accessibility through the expansion of the organization. And the arbitration agency failed to reconcile conflicts caused by stakeholders' perception of each other as a trade-off relationship. Third, the public value result shows that, despite many explicit (statistical) achievements, citizens' use of the past dispute resolution means (litigation) has not decreased. Likewise, the perception of value makers (citizens) is important for creating public value as an invisible result, but it has not yet been formally investigated, so the performance can not be recognized. Conclusion: While the organization's efforts for continuous change and improvement are encouraging, it is not perceived as a better means of resolving disputes and improving quality of services. Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider the institutional design centered on value creators.

  • 본 연구는 딥러닝을 위한 비선형 변환 접근법을 사용하여 Single-lap joint의 접착 영역을 조사하기 위한 진동 응답 기반 탐지 시스템을 제시한다. 산업 혹은 공학 분야에서 분해가 쉽지 않은 구조 내에 보이지 않는 부분의 상태와 접착된 구조의 접착 부위 상태를 알기 어려운 문제가 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 연구는 비선형 변환을 이용하여 기준 시편의 진동 응답으로 다양한 시편의 접착 면적을 조사하는 탐지 방법을 제안한다. 이 연구에서는 CNN 기반 딥러닝으로 진동 특성을 파악하기 위해 비선형 변환을 적용한 주파수 응답 함수를 사용했고 분류를 위해 가상의 스펙트로그램을 사용했다. 또한, 제시된 방법을 검증하기 위해 알루미늄, 탄소섬유복합재 그리고 초고분자량 폴리에틸렌 시편에 대한 진동 실험, 분석적 해, 유한요소해석을 수행했다.

New Text Steganography Technique Based on Part-of-Speech Tagging and Format-Preserving Encryption

  • The transmission of confidential data using cover media is called steganography. The three requirements of any effective steganography system are high embedding capacity, security, and imperceptibility. The text file's structure, which makes syntax and grammar more visually obvious than in other media, contributes to its poor imperceptibility. Text steganography is regarded as the most challenging carrier to hide secret data because of its insufficient redundant data compared to other digital objects. Unicode characters, especially non-printing or invisible, are employed for hiding data by mapping a specific amount of secret data bits in each character and inserting the character into cover text spaces. These characters are known with limited spaces to embed secret data. Current studies that used Unicode characters in text steganography focused on increasing the data hiding capacity with insufficient redundant data in a text file. A sequential embedding pattern is often selected and included in all available positions in the cover text. This embedding pattern negatively affects the text steganography system's imperceptibility and security. Thus, this study attempts to solve these limitations using the Part-of-speech (POS) tagging technique combined with the randomization concept in data hiding. Combining these two techniques allows inserting the Unicode characters in randomized patterns with specific positions in the cover text to increase data hiding capacity with minimum effects on imperceptibility and security. Format-preserving encryption (FPE) is also used to encrypt a secret message without changing its size before the embedding processes. By comparing the proposed technique to already existing ones, the results demonstrate that it fulfils the cover file's capacity, imperceptibility, and security requirements.

Development of an Imaging Based Gang Protection System

  • During maintenance or construction works in or at the tracks of railways, high risks for passengers and railway staff, especially for the workers on the construction site exist. The high risks result out of the movement of rail vehicles, like trains or construction vehicles, which must be faced by using any available technical and operational technologies for securing them against the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the level of protection continuously and to identify new and innovative methods and technologies for the protection of the gang (construction worker, machines and material). Especially on construction sites at line sections with two or more parallel tracks but also with single tracks, there are still a lot of incidents and accidents mostly with seriously injured persons or fatalities. These were mainly gang members that breach the railway-loading gage. By using proper warning or protection systems, the avoidance of such accidents must be achieved. The latest developments. in gang protection systems concern on the one hand fixed barriers in the middle between the construction site and the operated track and on the other hand construction vehicles equipped with automatic warning systems. The disadvantage of such protection methods is that the gang can be warned against an approaching train but a monitoring of the gang members cannot be performed. Only one part of a potential dangerous situation will be detected. If the gang members will overhear the acoustic warning signal of the security staff and the workers will not leave the danger zone in the track, the driver of the approaching train had no chance to react to the dangerous situation. An accident is often inevitable. While the detection of acoustic warning signals by the gang members working on a construction site is very difficult, the acoustical planning of an automatic warning system has to be designed for an acoustic short range level of one meter besides the construction vehicle. The decision about the use of today's technical warning system (fixed systems, automatic warning systems, etc.) must be geared to the technical feasibility and the level of safety which is needed. Criteria for decision guidance to block a track should be developed by danger estimation and economical variables. To realize the actual jurisdiction and to minimize the hazards of railway operations by the use of construction vehicles near the tracks further developments are needed. This means, that the warning systems have to be enhanced to systems for protection, which monitor the realization of the warning signal as a precondition for giving a movement authority to a train. This method can protect against accidents caused by predictable wrongdoing. The actual state of the art technique of using a collective warning combined with additional security staff is no longer acceptable. Therefore, the Institute of Transportation System of the German Aerospace Center in Braunschweig (Germany) will develop a gang warning and protection system based upon imaging methods, with optical sensors such as video in visible and invisible ranges, radar, laser, and other. The advantage of such a system based on the possibility to monitor both the gang itself and the railway-loading gauge either of the parallel track or of the same track still in use. By monitoring both situations, the system will be able to generate a warning message for the approaching train, that there are obstacles in the track, so that the train can be stopped to prevent an accident. And also the gang workers will be warned, while they breach their area.

구강외과 수술용 스텐트 기반 영상유도 수술 시스템의 개발 (Development and application of stent-based image guided navigation system for oral and maxillofacial surgery)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to develop a stent-based image guided surgery system and to apply it to oral and maxillofacial surgeries for anatomically complex sites. Materials and Methods : We devised a patient-specific stent for patient-to-image registration and navigation. Three-dimensional positions of the reference probe and the tool probe were tracked by an optical camera system and the relative position of the handpiece drill tip to the reference probe was monitored continuously on the monitor of a PC. Using 8 landmarks for measuring accuracy, the spatial discrepancy between CT image coordinate and physical coordinate was calculated for testing the normality. Results : The accuracy over 8 anatomical landmarks showed an overall mean of $0.56{\pm}0.16\;mm$. The developed system was applied to a surgery for a vertical alveolar bone augmentation in right mandibular posterior area and possible interior alveolar nerve injury case of an impacted third molar. The developed system provided continuous monitoring of invisible anatomical structures during operation and 3D information for operation sites. The clinical challenge showed sufficient accuracy and availability of anatomically complex operation sites. Conclusion : The developed system showed sufficient accuracy and availability in oral and maxillofacial surgeries for anatomically complex sites.
