  • In order to secure sustainable financial resources and to attract more key supporters, today's art museums are trying to further develop individual sponsorship. The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of membership programs by considering membership as the first step for the development of individual supporters for art museums. Although it is not easy to generate substantial profits within a short period through membership, art museums can secure supporters who empathize with and participate in their mission and activities by developing individual supporters through membership. The new trends of support, which has emerged as a stream of "new philanthropy" since the 1990s, indicate that the needs and motivations of individual supporters are changing. This has great implications for the direction of the development and operation of membership programs at art museums. This study investigated the role, method, and direction of the development of individual supporters through membership by conducting a theoretical review and a case study on the membership programs and individual sponsors of art museums. In addition, the study analyzed the cases of the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum of Modern Art in the United States, which have continuously attempted new approaches and improved membership programs based on a long history of membership operation and individual support, by centering on the new attributes of philanthropy, including participation and involvement, accountability, and transparency. Based on the results, implications and suggestions for Korean art museums were derived. Amid the lack of art museums' membership programs and academic research, this study has significance in exploring the direction and prerequisites for membership for the development of individual supporters.

  • This study has two research objectives related to end-user computing (EUC). One of the research objectives was to investigate the current status of EUC of Korean firms. Another research objective was to examine the relationship between individual differences of end-users and EUC success. Using survey data from 752 end-users of 23 firms, the surrent status of EUC and the relationship between individual differences of end-users and EUC success were investigated. The current status of EUC was examined from six perspectives: 1). what is the characteristics of EUC strategy of Korean firms, 2). what are the individual characteristics of end-users in Korean Firms, #0. what are the characteristics of tasks performed by end-users using computer, 4). what are the application a areas of EUC, 5). How end-users are satisfied with the support of firms, 6). what are system usage and satisfaction of end-users. It was also foud that individual differences of end-users are related to EUC success. More specifically, it wat shown that the male gender, younger age, higher level of education, higher rank and organizational tenure, higher math ability, thinking type of cognitive style, positive and optimistic attitudes toward computer, more experience with computer, more computer education and knowledge are individual differences variables associated with EUC success. The results of stepwise regression analysis suggested that the individual difference variables accounted for 14%, 25%, 39% and 30% of the variances of four EUC success variables, satisfaction for outcome, satisfaction for ability, frequency of computer use, and the number of tasks, respectively. These empirical findings suggest that EUC managers should consider individual differences of end-users in managing EUC, such as education, training, support, and human resource management, to maximize potential benefits of EUC.

  • The aim of the present study was to measure intra-individual consistency in clothing style evaluation and to examine its relation to the ratings. For this study, a pilot test was conducted to 50 clothing majored university students to explore the stimulus of‘cute’,‘casual’,‘sexy’,‘elegant’,‘intelligent’,‘formal’,‘romantic’,‘individual’,‘refined’for the 9 each image styles from the 32 spring wears in fashion magazine$\boxDr$FARBE$\boxUl$(March, 2000). On the basis of the preliminary survey, the question items explored the 15 pairs of bipolar adjectives as seven-point Likert type. The main survey was preceded 94 female and 111 men of university students from March 13 to 24 in 2000, twice for 7-days interval. As a result of analyzing of correlation coefficients between the two ratings for each subjects, intra-individual consistency in the evaluation, ranged from -.11 to .87 and mean coefficient was .64 of female and .20 to .76 and mean coefficient was .57 of male. Female had higher intra-individual consistency in the evaluation than male. Based on the coefficients, the subjects were classified into three groups: high, medium, and low intra-individual consistency. Analysis of variance of mean ratings by the three groups revealed that significant difference existed in 42% of female and 25% of male in 135 combinations of 9 clothing and 15 semantic differential scales. There was an apparent tendency that subjects of female with high intra-individual consistency were mostly definitely to evaluate clothing, whereas the ones with low were least. But male shows opposit trend compare to each groups of female. The result of this study, it was found that female rated higher intra-individual consistency and definition in the two times evaluations than male and among the semantic differential scales'consistency differ depending on style and gender. It is believed that the result of this study is helpful clothing image evaluation, and clothing image selection tendency.

  • Isotope ratio analysis of nuclear materials in individual particles is of great importance for nuclear safeguards. Although secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and thermal ionization mass spectrometry (TIMS) are utilized for the analysis of individual uranium particles, few studies were conducted for the analysis of individual uranium-plutonium mixed oxide particles. In this study, we applied SIMS and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) to the isotope ratio analysis of individual U-Pu mixed oxide particles. In the analysis of individual U-Pu particles prepared from mixed solution of uranium and plutonium standard reference materials, accurate $^{235}U/^{238}U$, $^{240}Pu/^{239}Pu$ and $^{242}Pu/^{239}Pu$ isotope ratios were obtained with both methods. However, accurate analysis of $^{241}Pu/^{239}Pu$ isotope ratio was impossible, due to the interference of the $^{241}Am$ peak to the $^{241}Pu$ peak. In addition, it was indicated that the interference of the $^{238}UH$ peak to the $^{239}Pu$ peak has a possibility to prevent accurate analysis of plutonium isotope ratios. These problems would be avoided by a combination of ICP-MS and chemical separation of uranium, plutonium and americium in individual U-Pu particles.

  • The main purpose of the study was to clarify the properties of individual particles collected at each behavior space of a factory worker. The samplings of size-segregated ($PM_{2.1-1.1}$ and $PM_{4.7-3.3}$) indoor particles were conducted at three different behavior spaces of a factory worker who is engaged in an auto parts manufacturing plant (i.e., his home, his work place in factory, and his favorite restaurant). Elemental specification (i.e., relative elemental content and distribution in and/or on individual particles) was performed by a micro-PIXE system. Every element detected from the coarse particulate matters of home was classified into three groups, i.e., a group of high net-counts (Na, Al, and Si), a group of intermediate net-counts (Mg, S, Cl, K, and Ca), and a group of minor trace elements (P, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Pb). The results of EF for $PM_{4.7-3.3}$ in home indicated that several heavy metals were generated from the sources within the house itself. An exceptional feature shown in the individual particles in workplace is that Cr, Mn, and Co were clearly detected in both fine and coarse particles. Cluster analysis suggested that the individual coarse particles ($PM_{4.7-3.3}$) collected at the indoor of factory were chemically heterogeneous and they modified with sea-salt, mineral, and artificially derived elements. The principal components in individual coarse particles collected at restaurant were sea-salt and mineral without mixing with harmful trace elements like chromium and manganese. Compared to the indoor fine particles of home and restaurant, many elements, especially, Cl, Na, Cr, Mn, Pb, and Zn showed overwhelmingly high net-counts in those of factory.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nursing education in diabetes patient, and to define the strategy to promote their sick-roll behavior, self efficacy. The quasi-experimental design was designed non-equivalent control group, non-synchronized design. The study had been done by investigating the experimental group and control group through the questionnaire on 58 patients who had been hospitalized and visiting out-patient department in K hospital in Pusan from June 1, 1998 to September 30, 1998. Individual diabetes education was carried out experimental group for the average 45 minutes. Self-efficacy was measured by Diabetes Management Self-efficacy Instrument developed by Park(1984). Data was collected before and after the experimentation. Collected data was analyzed by means of frequency, percentage, chi-square test, mean, standard deviation, and t-test with SPSS/PC program. The results were summarized as follows : 1. 'The experimental group which received the individual diabetes education should be higher in self-efficacy than control group' was not supported. 2. 'The experimental group which received the individual diabetes education should be higher in sick-roll behavior than control group' was not supported(P=.043). In conclusion, the patient who received individual diabetes education showed the increase in degree of sick - roll behavior of diabetes patients. So individual diabetes education had been judged the nursing intervention to improve sick-roll behavior of diabetes patients. But there was no effect about self-efficacy so to have the program which can improve self-efficacy is needed.

  • This study aims to design and implement individual complete learning system based on IPI(Individually Prescribed Instruction) model. Most of current web based learning systems do not consider individual students' ability and just follow the sequence of instructing contents $\rightarrow$ providing problems $\rightarrow$ presenting the result of evaluating. However, this system focuses on individual ability prior to studying subjects. In individual complete learning system, it is acknowledged that a period and a pace to complete each task will differ from students to students, therefore until they complete the whole unit, they are not allowed to move onto the next unit. After completing each unit, there will be a process of evaluating students' performance. It is necessary to show the correct completion of 80% of the evaluation to move onto next step; for those who are evaluated as inadequate to move on, an individual supplementary instruction will be provided. Therefore, this study intends to supplement the deficit of prior learning and provide feedback dependent on individual's learning ability so that the goal of Individual Whole Complete Learning could be accomplished.
