  • Recently, in order to understand the role of the ocean in global problems such as climate change, various researchers have made efforts to integrate and systematically manage the data collected from the world's oceans over the past half century. In Korea, public institutions, research institutes, and universities are carrying out efforts to continuously monitor changes in the marine environment in the waters surrounding Korea. The various types of marine chemical data produced in this way have been independently managed according to the purpose of each institution. Recently, efforts are being made to integrate various data led by the state. In this study, the data quality management method used to systematically manage the data of various types produced by various institutions abroad was explained. In this study, by applying this method, the format of data produced by various domestic institutions is unified, primary quality control of data according to oceanographic characteristics, secondary quality control using reliable data and comparison or standard materials, etc. It aims to provide basic information for carrying out these processes, and ultimately contribute to integrating data collected for various purposes in Korea into a data set that can be compared with each other regardless of the proficiency of producers.

  • By grouping freshly the virtue terms used in herbal medicine, we are apt to establish the position coordinates of concepts and raise the level of the herbal virtue research in future. As the terms related to the herbal virtue used in herbal medicine are used with the virtue terms mingled with the chief treatable disease terms, it's hard to use the herbal virtue data only. And though the virtues terms imply many data like medical act data or medical operation data, we can't use them fully. We sort the terms related to the herbal virtue into the virtue terms and the chief treatable disease terms and acquire many data like medical act data or medical operation data and group the data by same attribute. At this time in the process of classification we establish sort standards inductively, put relations between the attributes in order, out of this result we grasp the actual conditions of the virtue terms used now, and show useful data for herbal virtue research in future. We got the chief treatable disease terms from the ones related to the herbal virtue, acquired a lot of data from the virtue terms and grouped the data by the same attribute. We established a proper standard inductively in the process of classification, put the relations between the attributes in order, grasped the actual conditions of the virtue terms in use at the moment out of the result of the classification and presented the applicable data for the herbal virtue research in future.

  • Background : The introduction of policies expanding the coverage of uninsured Korean Medicine (KM) services have requires an understanding of the following components of the service : current financial expenses, degree of financial burden on the patient, and financial effect of the coverage expansion. Objectives : This study aims to determine the annual trend of outpatients' characteristics and the category of out-of-pocket spending in KM. Methods : This study uses data from the Korea Health Panel to analyze use of KM in the Korean population. Using the user characteristics and behavior drawn from the Korea Health Panel data, out-of-pocket spending trends of KM were analyzed by year. The diagnosis and prescription of out-of-pocket spending were also analyzed. Results : The proportion of patients receiving uninsured medical treatment and the number of uninsured medical treatment in outpatient clinics have increased. However, the average out-of-pocket spending per person and out-of-pocket spending per visit are consistent or have decreased. Meaningful trends are the increase of R00-R99 (unclassified symptoms) and the decrease of K00-K93 (digestive system disease) and J00-J99 (respiratory system disease). Conclusions : Expansion of KM medical service and insurance is influenced by uninsured medical treatment of KM. Hence, research to increase medical treatment categories for out-of-pocket spending or explore diseases where KM diagnosis has been proven effective should be further developed.

  • ERP system is a good one because it provides required data to the Board of Directors at the right time, but needs to collect many data in this system. Nevertheless, increase in data leads to the system's quality deterioration which makes companies to carry out quality improvement. In order to solve quality deterioration problem, a company's quality improvement director must execute under acknowledgement of the relationships between sectors to be improved, which are DBMS, Application, System, Data Management, Archiving, and Reorganization. But in many cases, these relationships are ignored due to massive size of each of the sectors, resulting fragmental quality improvement operation. This case paper proposes a solution to effectively solve quality deterioration problem created by the massive data produced while operating ERP System(constructed by SAP package and web). First, it defines the sectors where quality improvements are vital, and lists out things to be considered. Then, by analysing the working process of these sectors, proposes the most efficient order of the improvement process. This case will eventually help the company's quality improvement director to execute quality improvement most effectively without trials and errors, which is this paper's ultimate goal.
