  • This study investigated on the effects of adding mechanically deboned chicken meat (MDCM) hydrolysates on the quality properties of imitation fish paste (IFP) during storage. IFP was prepared from Alaska Pollack, spent laying hens surimi and protein hydrolysates which were enzymatically extracted from MDCM. The study was designed as a $3{\times}4$ factorial design with three MDCM hydrolysate content groups (0%, 0.4%, and 0.8%) and four storage times (0, 2, 4, and 6 weeks). Addition of MDCM hydrolysates increased crude fat content but lowered water content (p<0.05). The breaking force of IFP, an indicator of gel formation, increased in treated groups compared to control (p<0.05). Angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) activity was inhibited and free radical scavenging activity increased with increasing MDCM hydrolysate content (p<0.05). In conclusion, the addition of MDCM to IFP improves gel characteristics. Additionally, protein hydrolysates from MDCM serve as a potential source of ACE inhibiting peptides.

  • Due to Bell, a ring R is usually said to be IFP if ab = 0 implies aRb = 0 for $a,b{\in}R$. It is shown that if f(x)g(x) = 0 for $f(x)=a_0+a_1x$ and $g(x)=b_0+{\cdots}+b_nx^n$ in R[x], then $(f(x)R[x])^{2n+2}g(x)=0$. Motivated by this results, we study the structure of the IFP when proper ideals are taken in place of R, introducing the concept of insertion-of-ideal-factors-property (simply, IIFP) as a generalization of the IFP. A ring R will be called an IIFP ring if ab = 0 (for $a,b{\in}R$) implies aIb = 0 for some proper nonzero ideal I of R, where R is assumed to be non-simple. We in this note study the basic structure of IIFP rings.

  • A HEV evaluation program, funded by ADEME, was carried out by a group of Laboratories of different specialties in order to evaluate and compare consumption, emission and component technologies of the three first HEVs put on the market (Toyota Prius, Nissan Tino and Honda Insight). This paper presents the results obtained until now. These results show good consumption and emission performance of the tested vehicles compared to conventional ones. The energy management seems to be globally the same for the three vehicles excepting for cold stans where the Insight allows a very earlier stop of the engine compared to the Tino and especially to the Prius. A mapping of the engine consumption of the Prius and the Insight was performed in order to furnish data for the simulation models. The Permanent Magnet motors of the Prius and Tino have different number of pair poles and then different emf at a given speed. The low emf values of the Prius allow operation at high speed with less field weakening control than for the Tino. The inverters of the Prius and the Tino, controlled by a PWM at respectively 5 kHz and 7 kHz switching frequency, are made of IGBTs with high commutation performances.

  • Let R be a ring and I be a proper ideal of R. For the case of R being commutative, Anderson proved that (*) there are only finitely many prime ideals minimal over I whenever every prime ideal minimal over I is finitely generated. We in this note extend the class of rings that satisfies the condition (*) to noncommutative rings, so called homomorphically IFP, which is a generalization of commutative rings. As a corollary we obtain that there are only finitely many minimal prime ideals in the polynomial ring over R when every minimal prime ideal of a homomorphically IFP ring R is finitely generated.

  • In the present note we study the properties of weak Armendariz rings, and the connections among weak Armendariz rings, Armendariz rings, reduced rings and IFP rings. We prove that a right Ore ring R is weak Armendariz if and only if so is Q, where Q is the classical right quotient ring of R. With the help of this result we can show that a semiprime right Goldie ring R is weak Armendariz if and only if R is Armendariz if and only if R is reduced if and only if R is IFP if and only if Q is a finite direct product of division rings, obtaining a simpler proof of Lee and Wong's result. In the process we construct a semiprime ring extension that is infinite dimensional, from given any semi prime ring. We next find more examples of weak Armendariz rings.

  • This article concerns a ring property which is seated between IFP and IPFP rings. We study the insertion property of nonzero powers at zero products, introducing the concept of strongly IPFP ring. The structure of strongly IPFP rings is investigated in relation with nearly seated ring properties and ring extensions.

  • We in this note study a ring theoretic property which unifies Armendariz and IFP. We call this new concept INFP. We first show that idempotents and nilpotents are connected by the Abelian ring property. Next the structure of INFP rings is studied in relation to several sorts of algebraic systems.

  • In this paper, rings in which essential maximal right ideals are GP-injective are studied. Whether the rings with this condition satisfy von Neumann regularity is the goal of this study. The obtained research results are twofold: First, it was shown that this regularity holds even when the reduced ring is replaced with π-IFP and NI-ring. Second, it was shown that this regularity also holds even when the maximal right ideal is changed to GW-ideal. This can be interpreted as an extension of the existing results.

  • Cronobacter muytjensii is an important foodborne pathogen as a potential risk in infant formula powder (IFP). To develop a new and sensitive method for the detection of Cronobacter spp. in IFP, an immunoglobulin G (IgG) specific for C. muytjensii (formerly known as Enterobacter sakazakii ATCC 51329) was developed. Further, an indirect noncompetitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (INC-ELISA) was developed by using the anti-C. muytjensii IgG. As a result, this newly developed INC-ELISA method was found very sensitive for C. muytjensii with detection limit of $6.5{\times}10^3CFU/ml$ in pure culture and 1 cell/25 g of IFP. This INC-ELISA method also displayed excellent specificity for C. muytjensii showing no cross-reactivity with other strains of Cronobacter genus and 11 other foodborne pathogenic strains. These results show that the developed INC-ELISA method was very sensitive, efficient, and rapid for the detection of C. muytjensii. Hence, this method could be applied to the development of diagnostic kits for the rapid and easy detection of C. muytjensii.

  • The network mobility basic support (NEMO BS) protocol has been investigated to provide Internet connectivity for a group of nodes, which is suitable for intelligent transportation systems (ITS) applications. NEMO BS often increases the traffic load and handover latency because it is designed on the basis of mobile Internet protocol version 6 (MIPv6). Therefore, schemes combining proxy MIPv6 with NEMO (P-NEMO) have emerged to solve these problems. However, these schemes still suffer from packet loss and long handover latency during handover. Fast P-NEMO (FP-NEMO) has emerged to prevent these problems. Although the FP-NEMO accelerates handover, it can cause a serious tunneling burden between the mobile access gateways (MAGs) during handover. This problem becomes more critical as the traffic between the MAGs increases. Therefore, we propose a scheme for designing an improved FP-NEMO (IFP-NEMO) to eliminate the tunneling burden by registering a new address in advance. When the registration is completed before the layer 2 handover, the packets are forwarded to the new MAG directly and thereby the IFP-NEMO avoids the use of the tunnel between the MAGs during handover. For the evaluation of the performance of the IFP-NEMO compared with the FP-NEMO, we develop an analytical framework for fast handovers on the basis of P-NEMO. Finally, we demonstrate that the IFP-NEMO outperforms the FP-NEMO through numerical results.
