Packet Scheduling Algorithms for Throughput Fairness and Coverage Enhancement in TDD-OFDMA Downlink Network (TDD-OFDMA 하향 링크에서의 수율 공평성과 서비스 커버리지 보장을 위한 패킷 스케줄링 알고리즘 연구)

  • The present paper proposes two different packet scheduling algorithms in the IEEE 802.16e type TDD-OFDMA downlink, which are the weighted fair scheduling(WFS) and the throughput guarantee scheduling(TGS). The performance of proposed scheduling algorithms are compared to some of conventional schedulers such as round robin(RR), proportional fair(PF), fast fair throughput(FFTH), and fair throughput(FH) in terms of service coverage, effective throughput and fairness at 64 kbps and 128 kbps minimum user throughput requirements. For a relatively smaller throughput(64 kbps) requirement, the proposed algorithms provide higher improvement in the number of users per sector within 95$\%$ service coverage while satisfying the lxEV-DV fairness criterion. For a relatively larger throughput(128 kbps) requirement, the proposed algorithms provide higher coverage enhancement while maintaining the same effective aggregate throughput over PF scheduler.

  • Handover in high speed mobile communication service, in particulary mobile WiMAX is supported efficiency mobility to 120km/h speed. But, in order to accommodate number of user increment in a cell, wireless network is increment to microcell and picocell by allocate bandwidth and by decrease cell size. handover is occurrent and increment connection failure ratio In this result. IEEE 802.16 standard is support seamless connection through handover optimization scheme. But because authentication process is abbreviate, network weakness is exposure. In this paper, we propose handover scheme for support realtime service as VoIP, Picure communication, Streaming Data Service in order to support partially encryption method. In experiment, proposed scheme is proof which process time is increment 20% more than previous scheme.

  • In this paper, we propose the structures of the NBTC (Narrow-Beam Trisector Cell) and the WBTC(Wide-Beam Trisector Cell) in which directional antennas both at the base station and at the relay station are used. We analyze and compare total capacity of the both systems taking the co-channel interference into consideration for two channel models. Through analysis, we find the effect of LOS (Lind of Sight) path to the total capacity of NBTC structure and that of WBTC structure. Our work may be useful as a guideline to control the interference for the next generation mobile communication and WiBro systems using multi-hop relays.

  • Recently, Portable Internet being standardized provides fast movement with wider service range than wireless LAN does. If Portable Internet service starts, many people will use Portable Internet and thus wireless traffic is going to increase. In Portable Internet, it is important to reduce handover latency to provide user with satisfactory service when handover occurs. In IEEE 802.16e, MSS sends its own security context information to one Base Station which it will move to reduce handover latency. But this is not suitable in the situation that the BS doesn't know the security context. To reduce handover latency of proactive caching method that is to send security context information to adjacency Base Stations in advance has been proposed by[4]. In this paper we propose effective traffic management algorithm to reduce signaling network traffic caused by proactive caching method.

  • In this paper, BER performance of LDPC(Low-Density Parity-Check) decoder for WiMAX is analyzed, and optimal design conditions of LDPC decoder are derived. The min-sum LDPC decoding algorithm which is based on an approximation of LLR sum-product algorithm is modeled and simulated by Matlab, and it is analyzed that the effects of LLR approximation bit-width and maximum iteration cycles on the bit error rate(BER) performance of LDCP decoder. The parity check matrix for IEEE 802.16e standard which has block length of 2304 and code rate of 1/2 is used, and AWGN channel with QPSK modulation is assumed. The simulation results show that optimal BER performance is achieved for 7 iteration cycles and LLR bit-width of (8,6).

Highly Efficient High Power Hybrid EER Transmitter for IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMAX Application (IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMAX용 고효율 고출력 하이브리드 포락선 제거 및 복원 전력 송신기)

  • We have described a high power hybrid envelope elimination and restoration(H-EER) transmitter for IEEE 802.16e Mobile World Interoperability for Microwave Access(WiMAX) using an efficiency optimized power amplifier(PA). The PA has been designed to have maximum PAE at the important power generation $V_{ds}$, region using Nitronex 100-W PEP GaN HEMT. For the high power application, H-EER transmitter should be considered the regenerative oscillation problem due to the PA's bias fluctuation effect and bias modulator stability issue. Therefore, the bias modulator for H-EER transmitter has been designed to suppress the regenerative oscillation. For the interlock experiment, the bias modulator has been built with the efficiency of 72% and peak output voltage of 30 V for the envelope signal with a PAPR of 8.5 dB. The H-EER transmitter for WiMAX application has been achieved a high PAE characteristic, 38.8 % at an output power of 41.25 dBm. By using digital predistortion(DPD) technique, the Relative Constellation Error (RCE) has been satisfied the specification of -34.5 dB. This is the first work at 2.655 GHz high power H-EER transmitter for WiMAX application.

  • Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is an efficient technology for 20th century communication system. The technology provides broadband speed without the need for cables and is based on the IEEE 802.16 standard(also called Wireless MAN). Mobile WiMAX is defined as IEEE802.16e which is advanced and efficient technology for mobile telecommunication rather than GSM, CDMA technology. In this work link budget calculation for WiMAX have been done. Cell range have been calculated over digital modulations and they are BPSK, QPSK and QAM. Here different types of models like Cost 231 model have been used for different types of areas like open, rural and urban areas and Erceg-Greenstein model for sub-urban areas. Effect of various parameters like frequency, base station antenna height, transmission power and SNR over cell range have been studied. Analysis have done for both uplink and downlink.

  • Initial Ranging Detection and Synchronization is suggested for IEEE 802.16e OFDMA Systems. However ranging is vulnerable to the channel selectivity and other user's interference at low SNR. This paper presents enhanced ranging scheme that improves ranging detection process using the combine multiple FFT blocks and cope with channel selectivity and other user's interference at low SNR. Based on the ranging detection timing offset is calculated for synchronization.

Performance Improvements of WiBro System Using the LVQ Blind Equalization (LVQ 자력등화를 이용한 와이브로 시스템의 성능 개선)

  • WiBro(Wireless Broadband Internet) is the standard of high-speed portable internet based on OFDMA/TDD (Orthogonal frequency division multiple access / Time division duplexing) techniques, and the subset of consolidated version of IEEE802.16e Wireless MAN standard. In this paper, we propose performance improvements of WiBro system using the LVQ(Learning Vector Quantization) blind equalization. Proposed method used the prefiltering LVQ neural network blind equalization in the Broadband WiBro system receiver. The prefiltering LVQ neural network constellates 16QAM that is transmitter data shape and the blind equalization removes ICI(Inter Carrier Interference). To verificate the proposed method usability, the MSE(Mean Square Error) and the BER(Bit Error Rate) are simulated. The simulation results shown that is improved the performances of the proposed WiBro system using the LVQ blind equalization than the existing WiBro system.
